Darkness . . . Pain . . . And the smell of smoke and bodily waste burning your nostrils were the first sensations to hit your body when you awoke. Every was in indescribable pain; every muscle felt like it was torn, every bone felt shattered, and your head felt as though it would pop from the pressure building within it. Even with agony, you ha-no needed to get up and know what the hell happened to you . . . And where the hell you were.
Your eyelids were far too heavy to felt and see through, so you stretched out your hands to claw and feel for some sort of support with which to hoist yourself up from and lean on. You first felt rough and warm shattered concrete that comprised the floor below you. Grasping further ahead your hand touched a myriad of trash, and a slimy puddle you rather not think about, until you finally felt the sharp edge of some kind metallic box. Thinking it to be some sort of dumpster, you used it to lean on as you dragged yourself up and rest to try and recover.
After a couple of seconds you took your real first long breath after waking before suddenly stopping and hacking on the "air". You experienced days with shifty air, but this was something else completely. It was hot, dry, smokely, and you felt tiny Particulates of ash clog your throat, but after a few minutes of trying, you were finally able to breath somewhat normally again.
The last thing to do was to finally see where the hell you were, and luckily it was the easiest task so far. Yes even the smallest ray of light that hit your eyes burned, but your patience for this whole cluster fuck was running dry. Through watery red eyes, you saw that you were in some sort of darky and dingy ally way; torn trash bags and their scattered contents were littered everywhere along with broken glass and the scant bullet casing here and there. That part, the bullets, made your hair on the back of your neck stand up, but the sky above turned your blood icy cold.
Red, a hellish crimson red that caused everything below to be bleached the same hue. Plastered on this nightmarish sky was a pentagon that loomed over everything below. Before you were able to fully comprehend what was before you above . . .
*BOOM*
An exploration further ahead from you pelted rocks and glass towards you as it's shockwave topled you over. You landed roughly on the ground and quickly held your head down trying to protect yourself from the carnage as bullets and even more bombs, thankfully further away from you, rang out afterward.
You bit the bullet, luckily just a Metaphor as none of the fight ahead was aimed in your direction, and lifted your just enough to see what the hell was going on; What it was made the sky look like as typical as you could get. In Front of you, out of the alleyway and on some sort of destroyed road and street, were honest-to-god monsters: man shaped wolf's, creatures with more eyes and teeth than you could count, things that crawled, flew, laughed, cried, and gutted and killed and each other like animals as they visibly enjoy the death around them.
You ducked your head back under your arm, desperately trying to understand what the fuck was happening.
'I'm dreaming, No, I was drugged and now I'm hallucinating, I'm in a coma, THIS CAN'T BE REAL! GOD DAMN IT WHAT'S HAPPENING TO ME!'
