At least Jet Blamps getting smaller explosions means that we really dodged a bullet.

[X] Some Slina evolved leeching mouthparts on both of its heads and gained a mutualistic relationship with the Vent Blamps. These Slina will attach themselves between two Vent Blamps, tethering them to each other while draining a little of their energy. By doing so they provide these Vent Blamps with a way to reach each other for breeding purposes, and the Vent Blamps would place their buds on the Slina itself, only needing to return to the ruins to seek shelter from storms.

[X] Some Harpoon Slina develop a new hunting strategy by secreting a sedative from their external tissue layers. It lets them booby-trap hunting perches and webs alike, so that both Drekin, Slina are viable prey. 'Trapped' in a web, they strike when their prey succumbs to the laced webs.

[X] Some Splitter Slina begin to draw in prey through suctioned force. By drawing air through one head and expelling it out the other they form a type of cyclone. By splitting one head may direct air away from or towards another to better manipulate their environment

Been thinking of something for future turns, mainly to attempt to make a viable biome using drifting Bridgeweaver colonies.

[] Some Drekin evolved psionic powers, which manifested as telekinesis which helps them repel threats and traverse sticky webbing. To obtain enough food to fuel their powers, these Drekin bargained with colonies of Bridgeweavers to allow them to scavenge dead Blamps in return for using their bulk and telekinesis to help defend the colony from predators.

Then at some point down the line
[] On Bridgeweaver colonies that were left adrift, some psionic Drekin manifested precognition instead. These Drekin are able to forsee storms that are weeks away, and can communicate this with the colony who then use sails made from webbing and makeshift engines made from trapped Jet Blamps and Vent Blamps to steer towards safety.

[X] Some Slina lost their mouths and instead developed specialized, teeth-like spikes. They use them to literally suck out organs from their prey bodies. Those spikes allow them to pierce Drekin shells and have added benefit of allowing the Slina to also consume, stored Boom Blamp energy, allowing this Slina subspecies to safely attack and consume Boom Blamps.

ohhhh I love this.
do you recall The Future Is Wild? or I guess the documentary
either way, there's colonial spiders that ranch guineapigs, to talk convergently on what they're both like.
I think it'd be interesting if

[] Some Climbing Blamps begin to hitch rides with bridgeweaver colonies by changing the shape of their claws to ride atop the colony until it reaches a structure again. When it's time for budded blamps to split, they ensure the new blamp will be in the colony until able to travel independently.

then down line 83c
[] Passenger Blamps that kept breeding in the bridgeweaver colonies have adapted to life in the colony biome (by becoming - further adaptation to primarily live in the webs and being less suited to structure life). Sometimes individuals may travel between colonies via structure hopping or jumping to passing ones.

Creating a blamp line that primarily lives on colonies, allowing there to be a stable independent food source for a drifting web rafts >83c

One thing we might be able to do is have wind powered monsters, like say a Drekin or Slina or something on the drifting colony gains the ability to get energy from air currents by using it to turn organic turbines. Maybe something that secretes excess sugars, so Drekins protect it similar to ants and aphids?

That said, one possible application for a wind powered monster could be something that anchors itself to the liquid gas layer and extends a turbine like structure into the gaseous gas layer to power itself.

014 (Tether Slina)

Tether Slina
The Tether Slina evolve leaching mouths able to drain precious fluids from Blamps. They are far more elastic than the normal Slina allowing them to capture a Blamp with both mouths. This tethers both Blamps together and keeps them together until one dies where the Slina grabbing that one will drain as much as possible before letting go. Unable to move for most of their lives the Tether Slina have lost the ability to see but have a refined sense of taste they use to identify Blamps.

The Vent Blamps are the preferred targets of the Tether Slina and find the connection often a worthwhile trade-off for the connection to one of their kind. The two Blamps can use the Tether Slina to do move complex movements by mixing their movements in odd ways allowing them to avoid hazards and predators.

[X] Boom Blamps: Instead of exploding the Boom Blamps use the energy to create areas of uncomfortably high heat (for the current monsters) in the area directly surounding them at will.

[X] Drekin evolve to have more legs so that they can move much faster while also keeping balanced.

Am honestly hoping that the Boom Blamp finally dies.

[X] Some Drekin started developing special, silk that consumes energy of prey trapped in it, preventing any chance of escaping as the kinetic force generated is blunted and allowing Drekin to consume exhausted prey with ease. The added bonus, this energy consumptions, prevents Boom Blamps from exploding, as the web consumes the stored energy in Boom Blamp body.

Death to Boom Blamps and Boom Blamps lovers.
