The only request I'd have for Rest and Public Relations is if it's possible to get the Melissa/Selinda option in as one of the picks. As I said, the hidden roll still bugs me a bit - did something happen down there that Ryza didn't notice because she failed the roll? Even if it didn't, I think this might have been Melissa's first experience on a battlefield (she was a trainee, right?) might be good to check in on her and make sure she's holding up okay regardless even if she wasn't an active participant during the fighting.

If I'm reading the promotion info correctly, an unpromoted unit gains two strong dice per two levels, a promoted one effectively one Dragon Die.
I'm using specifically two level steps because then I can use Binomial distribution for the math.

It is only when comparing a promoted unit with a theoretically later promoted unit that got the same amount of levels that they come up short.
However, we have no idea if there even are enough levels in the quest to get an early promoted unit to maximum, which is the only argument I could see against promotion.
On the other hand, it should also be noted that we are effectively playing Fire Emblem Classic mode, and a unit cannot promote if they are dead.
Likewise, since this is an all out war, I don't think we are suffering deployment slots or similar mechanics, so it's not like using a slower growing unit is hampering the development of anyone else.
So in other words, it's like basically every FE game ever where theoretically promoting at level 20 and reaching 20/20 will totally create a better unit, but practically early promotion is almost always superior

Reaching the highest possible height is possible regardless of when you promote, it just takes less levels the later the promotion because promoted units effectively need two levels for a new dice instead of one, so its faster to get them all unpromoted and then switch in one go.
What I meant is that a unit promoted at level five that is now level nine will be at a disadvantage against the same unit that promoted at level nine.
Thats the only point where it would make a negative difference.
The only way it would lead to a worse unit in the end is if the quest ends before the promoted unit reaches ten dragon dice.
Something I just thought of though, which we may want to keep in mind if promotion does happen, is the social aspects. Namely that an early promotion might result in Pheobe being side eyed as someone who may not deserve such a rare honor just yet. Not really an argument against imo, because fuck the people who would do that, but it is something to keep in mind.

Yeah, valid thing to think about. Heck even beyond the direct social aspect, wasn't there mention that a promotion can change someone a bit mentally? Might have been specifically the thief->assassin promotion with the Fell Contract, but that's also something to watch for.
