I wonder if it would make sense at some point to have a Legion threadmark describing our forces and their equipment.

Fan is hard locked to go with Thalassa as only he can dream it up once Thalassa designs it.

A bit complicated but you will see.

Ah, shame we didn't go with the sequential option.

[] Accept his Proposal
-[] Ask that Settra fights the Hekatonkhire, but shows his power by doing so without killing them as we wish to do to the Shard what he did to others, to steal their strength and turn it against him. After we dream the terraforming engines into existence we alone will rejoin Settra while Thalassa uses the machines and the rest guard her, and when the great king has beaten the Hekatonkhire we will strike them down and imprison them in our anima, so that we can then try to invert their nature to be spirits of Rebirth rather than Oblivion once the terraforming has been done and before Lorgar tries to resurrect the WorldSoul.

To be clear, this comes under the realm of Sorcery, 3rd Circle minimum. Nothing else would work as the Shard isca Sorceror too.

Thankfully we now have a legion of sorcerers to assist us in such a ritual…

Would the use of True Faity/the Malleable Spirit gift be something that would help with the ritual like a relevant charm would?

Also, once we've beaten the Hekarincheires shouldn't their ability to sustain the Shard's projection end, so he's no longer a factor?

One thing I noticed in the past update:

You addressed them, your voice steady and resolute. "Warriors of the Imperial Heralds, you are born of faith and forged in the fires of belief. You carry the legacy of my son and the strength of my nephew. Today, we face a great challenge, but will we be found wanting?."

I think the Wyld Marines (Or I guess Cauldron Marines might work better) are aware of how they were made, which would have interesting implications when they meet their mortal-born kin.

Let me put it this way. Changing the two is a Solar Circle Working. I do not see you pulling it off without preparation.

They are also directly linked to the Shard. So he gets counter rolls. All this while in the Umbra od a undead Worldsoul.

You could technically pull it off but you could also win a lottery. There is a Lot stacked against you.

Ok; latest revision:

Should they not be? I mean Fan has no reason for them not to know.

Oh no, it is reasonable IC, we do not know what kind of lunatic the Emperor is I was just making the note since @Alratan argued that they would come with an invented history which they obviously did not.

We are going to need to make a very deep hole for them once this is done. Maybe we can use them as our shape-shifting cadre of spies.

Just one think. Think of Settra's character, his pride and how he normally deals with his enemies.

I like Cauldron Marines.

However I don't like the name Imperial Heralds. I think Lorgar should rename them. I suggest 'Heralds of the Dawn'.

I think that usually when you Wyld Shape people they come with a narrative of their lives that to them is subjectively real. Wyld Shaping is in some ways inventing a very convincing history and then making it real.

We presumably decided not to do that.

Killing them and sacrificing them to his gods?
To be fair he used to enslave his enemies a lot in life to use as sacrifices.
Yes. Now see what you are asking him to do. What you are offering in return.
Can you give me the citation for this? My understanding was that Ahriman struggled for years trying to find a cure for the Flesh Change before the Imperium found Magnus, then Magnus cured it shortly after being made aware of it.
Post

At least as far as this quest is concerned, per Yzarc's own words, the Flesh Change has not started yet.

As to Magnus "curing" it soon, well, it is a bridge to be crossed later in the quest.
IIRC that post was with reference to the interlude at the start of the GC and not "Now" in the current timeline.

Ah, one stands corrected, then. Presumably, at this "current" point, the Thousand Sons have been suffering the Flesh Change for some time.

As to the current situation, well, it may be best to simply accept Settra's proposed plan. It would not be wise to test his pride and patience any further.

No on this and Fan wont go for ot after the "Break your oath because I say so." debacle.

In that case we are kind of out of stuff to trade, I doubt he wants a cup that makes water... Actually wait a sec. Could we recreate the moonsilver tatoos? Wold Setra have use for them?

Because logically the trade would take place after the battle once he has the prisoners so we could still use the moonsilver for the battle and then remake them afterward.

  • Weather Control - The Spirits of the desert have taught you how to control weather phenomena.
  • Maelstroms - The Spirits of the desert can teach you how to create disasters and other weather phenomena. You still need to spend action points to learn this though.
can fan, the marines and settra work together to create a super sandstorm/rainstorm? and would it impact settra's army?

also should we bring the tribe to fight along the marines?

The other options might be to offer to repair Ankhaten after the battle.

It really is a pity that all 3 Faith Aspects have been filled for Lorgar. The rebirth of the World Soul would have been an excellent achievement for Lorgar gaining the Rebirth Aspect. The Rebirth Aspect would also have helped with reviving the World Soul.

One does not regret Lorgar's Purity Aspect, but one cannot help but think of what he could have done with the Rebirth or Redemption Aspects.

Well, reviving the World Soul will hopefully gain Lorgar another Aspect.

Depending on how conceptual his Light Aspects can get, it's possible he could get something like Dawn, symbolising something pretty similar to rebirth.
