It's not that it's not fair but one of them is an assured victory of chaos because he sacrifices his fucking life to do nothing and the other is a potential where this is only slightly catastrophic rather than extremely and I'd prefer slightly catastrophic to assured to death.

The GM did say there are no automatic bad ends so he might survive the attempt at sealing or we might get some other bonus from the action.

Personally depending on the catastrophe we are talking about though I think one life lost is fine to avoid it though. He is at the end of the day one dude we got from a good roll whose soul we gambled with and failed another roll. We would be no worse off if he died than if we had stabbed him a few updates ago.

In the end I think he has a better chance of recovery in this situation by fighting rather than essentially calling it here with the seal. The seal also has a actual price attached to it completely it's going to take something from him to do that and if you're going to lose something anyway you might as well lose it fighting rather than abandoning an ally.

This is a separate one but also I know our nephew got a strong view of chaos but does he even know any way to seal anything. I don't think he was a shaman or a psycher and he was a chaos Champion for maybe a couple years and I'm not even sure he could read so I don't know it just seems like fighting is the better option here if for no other reason then if you have to lose something you might as well claw and scrape and struggle to keep it as much as possible.

It is the warp, everything is magic here, including the fighting, it's not like he's using his muscles. Every action is one of will, be is sealing or fighting.

What is death?
It is our duty.

The choice seems to be between Abyssal, Exigent and Solar.
[x] Seal the Abyss: Dharok might attempt to close the rift, sacrificing his own life.

I'm pretty sure the choices have nothing at all to do with Exalted, they're about 'What Would Lorgar Do?'

I think this is mostly a vision, not something happening in reality, so the only consequences are for Dhorak. Given that, and the nature of the reward for passing depends on the choice here, I think a reward based around fighting the abyss will be more useful than one based around self-sacrifice.

Do what Lorgar would do to become like Lorgar.

Lorgar wouldn't invoke a higher power though, he rejected depending on gods.

Not unexpected, but. Oh well.

[X] Leap into the Abyss: The whispers beckoned. Dharok could plunge into the darkness, risking everything for his allies.

A lot of Seal's argumentation rings very wrong to me, even though I don't actually think it is a terribly bad choice.

Turn 5: Death and Rebirth
Colchis - 831.M30

As he stood alone on the edge of the abyss, Dharok knew that his choices in the next few moments would shape not only his destiny but that of everyone around him. He could feel the malevolent energy radiating from the rift, threatening to consume everything in its path. The ground beneath his feet felt unstable, as if the very fabric of reality was unraveling.

Dharok took a deep breath, his eyes filled with a mixture of determination and fear. He knew what had to be done. He had to close the rift, no matter the cost. The whispers grew louder, trying to sway him from his path, but he steeled his mind against their influence.

"This is my choice," he muttered to himself, his voice barely audible over the cacophony of the warp. "My sacrifice."

With a final, determined breath, Dharok stepped forward towards the edge of the chasm. The warp energies surged around him, but he did not falter. He raised his hands, channeling the remnants of his strength and willpower into a single, focused effort. The ground beneath him trembled, the warp recoiling from his defiance.

He could feel the strain on his body, his muscles burning with the effort, but he pushed on. His vision blurred as the warp fought back, its tendrils lashing out at him. Each step felt like an eternity, but Dharok knew he could not give up.

As he reached the edge of the rift, he could see the core of the warp energy, a swirling mass of chaos and malevolence. He knew that to close the rift, he would have to destroy this core. Gathering all his strength, he focused on the energy within him, drawing on the blessings and power he had been granted.

With a roar, Dharok unleashed his power, directing it at the core. The warp energy writhed and screamed in response, but Dharok held firm. He could feel his life force draining away, the energy required to close the rift taking a heavy toll on his body. His vision dimmed, and he could feel the cold grip of death closing in.

But Dharok did not falter. He poured everything he had into the effort, his mind singularly focused on the task at hand. The core began to weaken, the warp energy dissipating as his power overwhelmed it. The chasm started to close, the ground stabilizing as the rift was sealed.

With a final, triumphant shout, Dharok succeeded in closing the rift. The battlefield fell silent, the malevolent energy dissipating into the air. The ground beneath him solidified, and the tremors ceased.

But Dharok's victory came at a great cost. His body, drained of all energy, collapsed to the ground. He could feel his life slipping away, but a sense of peace washed over him. He had done it.

The battlefield fell silent, the tremors ceased, and the rift sealed. Dharok's seemingly lifeless body lay on the ground, his final breath taken in the act of ultimate sacrifice. The warp energies had been driven back, the malevolent whispers silenced, or so it seemed. Unbeknownst to all, the chaos gods were not so easily thwarted. They had been planning this all along, a chance to corrupt and twist his noble sacrifice to their own ends.

As Dharok's spirit hovered on the edge of oblivion, he felt a pull, a dark and insidious force trying to drag him back. He fought against it, his will strong even in death, but the chaos gods were relentless. They crafted a copy of him, a doppelganger born from the corrupted fragments of his soul that they had claimed for themselves when he had sworn himself to them. This dark twin was imbued with the essence of chaos, a twisted reflection of the man Dharok was.

The doppelganger opened its eyes, its form identical to Dharok's, but its mind a swirling maelstrom of chaos. It felt the pull of the warp, the commands of the dark gods whispering in its ear, urging it to rise and replace the true Dharok. It began to devour Dharok's identity, consuming his memories, his essence, attempting to erase the man he had been and take his place.

As the doppelganger's influence grew, Dharok realized something profound. By wishing to be like Lorgar, he had gained not only the powers of a demigod but also the weaknesses that came with such a transformation. The strength, resilience, and connection to the warp were all part of the boon he had received, but there was a price. He was in the process of being true named, becoming a being of power and influence in his own right.

The chaos gods, ever watchful and cunning, had recognized this vulnerability from the moment Dharok had made his wish. They had seen his desire to emulate Lorgar, to embody the strength and virtues of the Primarch. And they had seen an opportunity. They had begun to weaken him, to sow the seeds of doubt and corruption, knowing that his true name was forming, that they could seize it and use it to reclaim their wayward champion.

The doppelganger, now fully formed, felt the pull of the warp more acutely than ever. The whispers of the dark gods grew louder, more insistent. They sought to name him, to bind him to their will.

"You belong to us. You are ours to command." they whispered, their voices a mixture of honeyed temptation and harsh command.

Dharok's essence, though fading, could still feel the battle raging within his doppelganger. He knew that if the chaos gods succeeded, his identity would be lost forever, replaced by a twisted puppet of the dark gods.

As the doppelganger feasted on his name, Dharok's spirit resisted. He reached out with the last vestiges of his strength, remembering the lessons he had learned from Lorgar.

"Not like this," Dharok's voice echoed in the void between life and death. "I will not let you corrupt my sacrifice."

In a moment of clarity, Dharok devised a plan. He drew upon the memory of Lorgar's teachings, focusing on the purity and strength that lay beyond the chaos. He remembered how Lorgar had purified him, using his own will and power to banish the corruption. Dharok realized that if he could trick the doppelganger into consuming this memory, his plan may just work.

With his last vestiges of strength, Dharok reached out to his doppelganger. "Do you remember the moment of our greatest triumph?" he whispered, his voice resonating within the doppelganger's mind.

The doppelganger, driven by its insatiable hunger for Dharok's identity, latched onto the memory. It began to consume the vivid recollection of Lorgar's purification, believing it would further strengthen its hold over Dharok's essence.

As the memory was absorbed, Dharok channeled an inner faith he had not known he possessed. He drew upon the purity of his spirit, focusing all his will on the act of purification. The doppelganger, now infused with the memory of Lorgar's blessing, began to change.

The chaos within the doppelganger recoiled at the touch of purity, but Dharok's faith, now fully awakened, surged through it. He poured all his remaining strength into this act, drawing upon the teachings of Lorgar and the power of his as of yet unformed true name. The doppelganger's form began to shimmer, the dark essence being driven out by the light of Dharok's faith.

"I am Dharok," he declared, his voice merging with that of the doppelganger. "I will not be your puppet. I will embrace my true name and my true strength."

Dharok's Will burned with a righteous fury, purging the corruption from the doppelganger's form. The chaos gods howled in rage, their control slipping as the doppelganger began to change.

His spirit guided the transformation, infusing the doppelganger with the purity of his sacrifice, the nobility of his intent. The darkness was driven out, replaced by a new resolve, a new purpose. The doppelganger's eyes cleared, its mind no longer a chaotic storm but a beacon of defiance against the gods that had sought to control it.

The doppelganger, now a vessel of purification, rebelled against the chaos gods. It felt the corruption within it burn away, replaced by a sense of clarity and purpose. The whispers of the dark gods grew frantic, their control slipping away.

As Dharok's strength waned, he knew he had done all he could. The doppelganger, now a being of its own, stood tall. It was no longer a mere copy, but a new entity born from Dharok's purity and sacrifice.

The doppelganger looked down at Dharok's spirit, understanding dawning in its eyes. It held out a hand and Dharok grabbed it, welcoming the new being.

"I am you, you are me," they said, their voice steady and resolute.

"I am Malum Caedo," They declared together, their voices echoing across the battlefield. "Born from darkness, I will bring the light."

With the sacrifice complete, powered by the purified blessings of Chaos, Malum Caedo stepped forward. The chaos gods had tried to corrupt and twist him and his name, but in the end, they had only forged a new champion against their own malevolence.

Malum Caedo, a name that would be known and feared by the forces of chaos, carried the spirit of sacrifice into the battles to come.

But at that moment, a roar of rage and fury echoed across the battlefield, drawing Malum Caedo's attention. Emerging from the shadows, a massive figure loomed, its form towering above the lesser daemons that swarmed around it. A Bloodthirster, a Greater Daemon of Khorne, had arrived to challenge Malum Caedo. Its eyes burned with hatred, its massive axe dripping with the blood of its victims.

Malum Caedo clenched his powerfists, his body glowing with a holy light. The Bloodthirster bellowed a challenge, and Malum Caedo met it head-on, charging forward with a speed and grace that belied his size. The clash of their weapons rang out like a thunderclap, the force of the impact sending shockwaves through the ground.

The battle was a brutal dance of power and skill, each combatant testing the other's limits. The Bloodthirster's strength was immense, each swing of its axe capable of cleaving through rock and metal. But Malum Caedo was faster, his movements a blur as he dodged and punched, his fist striking out with lethal precision.

For every powerful blow the Bloodthirster landed, Malum Caedo answered with a dozen hits, his fist pulping the daemon's flesh with ease. His faith and purity gave him strength, each strike burning with the light of his conviction. The Bloodthirster roared in fury, its blood boiling as it realized it was facing an opponent unlike any other.

Malum Caedo pressed his advantage, his fists flashing like lightning as he punched and kicked at the Bloodthirster. The daemon's roars grew more desperate, its movements more frantic as it struggled to keep up with the relentless assault. Malum Caedo's strikes were precise and deadly, each one aimed at a vital point, each one weakening the daemon further.

With a final, powerful blow, Malum Caedo drove his fist deep into the Bloodthirster's chest, the holy light encasing his fist searing the daemon's flesh. The Bloodthirster screamed in agony, its body convulsing as the light consumed it. Malum Caedo pushed harder, driving his power fist deeper, until the Bloodthirster was brought to its knees.

But in its final moments, the Bloodthirster summoned all its remaining strength for one last, desperate attack. With a roar of defiance, it lashed out, its massive axe cleaving through the air. The blow struck Malum Caedo with the force of a meteor, sending him sprawling to the ground, his armor cracking under the impact.

Pain lanced through Malum Caedo's body, but he refused to yield. With a fierce cry, he raised his fist and drove it once more into the heart of the Bloodthirster. The daemon's scream of agony echoed across the battlefield as it was banished back to the warp, its form dissolving into a cloud of black smoke.

Breathing heavily, Malum Caedo struggled to his feet, the pain of the Bloodthirster's final blow still throbbing in his side. But he stood victorious, glowing with the light of his faith. The battlefield was silent, the lesser daemons fleeing in terror at the sight of their fallen champion even as the Space Marines looked at his in awe.

Malum Caedo raised his fist in the air, a symbol of his defiance and strength. He had faced a Greater Daemon of Khorne and emerged victorious, his purity and faith shining like a beacon in the darkness. As he stood amidst the carnage, he knew that this was only the beginning. Even as he felt himself waking up, he knew that he would continue to fight, to carve a path of light through the darkness, and to honor the teachings of Lorgar.

GAIN
Chaos Cheated and this is your reward. By walking down the path of Sacrifice, you have gained True Faith 10. He had True Faith 5 and 3 rolls were made 1d5, the best to be used. He rolled 2, 5 and 5. Yeah. So he has max True Faith.

He rolled True faith to Purify the clone at a Difficulty of 10 and gained 2 sux.

Also Gain: A True Name, allowing you to influence the Warp as only Daemons and Primarches do.

MALUM CAEDO
This is the True Name of Dharok. Whatever original True Name he would have gotten is long lost due to the interference of the Chaos Gods. This is now his true name and it cannot change. Normally falling to chaos would change your true name but due to the nature of his true name, that is no longer possible.

What that means is that while he is attuned to Lorgart's mythos, he can have his own interpretation of it. In this case? He is a Physical Primary and Social Secondary. He cannot develop any Mythos powers and is boosted physically, unlike Lorgar and suffers no penalties in any Physical actions as part of his specialization power.

More on what this means later, once his character sheet is up.

FINAL VERDICT
The rolls were middling at best, roll to make up for it was 61, but the rolls to fight the daemon were high except at the very end where the Daemon got a hit in before dying.

Honestly, I decided to name him that for his repeatedly high rolls against daemons. I was not joking when I said that he was curb-stomping the Daemons as if he was a Primarch.

CHOOSE 1 FOR EACH ARCHETYPE:
Dharok, whose True name is Malum Caedo, has synchronized with Lorgar's Mythos. The Human Archetype: "The Rebel" has locked in. But the others are up to grab.

Literal Holy shit, we just made out own Sanguinor, only with Lorgar and he did not have to die. Looks like sacrifice worked out.

[X] [Holy Aspect]
-[X] Rebirth

I think this is the best aspect for a warrior or Lorgar's blood. Rebirth through sacrifice

[X] [Light Aspect]
-[X] Speed

He is never going to be the bruiser that other marines would be, let him be fast

And yes for the sharp eyed watchers I am making Alt!:Lucius the Eternal. Only the Chaos Gods would be able to appreciate the irony but they would hate it :V
