That makes a lot more sense than my initial impression. It was the go out into the wild but that threw me.
I think we know what Lorgar would get as his Path of the Arbiter mount, if we ever reinvent and teach that Martial Art.
Wasn't Lorgar Ascendent actually fairly powerful, for a primarch?

Psychical? Yes. He augmented his powers and approached Magnus as a Psyker.
Lorgar already has Willpower 10 and X4 multiplier on most everything. I don't really expect non-shield vote to win, but, like. He won't explode if you don't pick up shields immediately, unless I have a completely wrong idea of relevant stats. Primarchs generally don't care about most pedestrian dangers mortals gotta face in 40k.

More than that, true faith makes him immune to possession and demon mind skills.
Him being a Primarch allows him to use the Warp without rolls for miscast.
Mindshield true value is that Lorgar can teach it, free of xp cost, all the way to 5 dots to all future psykers he trains.
Though the same is true for the other disciplines.

I presume True Faith is less teachable?.. Although weren't Sororitas supposed to have a bunch of people with it?

True Faith needs something inherient in a person for them to learn.
Even having Lorgar's gene-seed, no Imperial Herald is going to top faith 5 unless they are special.

Sororitas had a whole galaxy yo recruit from. So they had a wide pool of people. Even then no one broke past Faith 5, which is where the active miracles start.

Yeah, for me it's much less for Lorgar and more for everyone he teaches?
I think what should be thought to Lorgar is investigation, debate, common sense. No Chaos god talking him into anything. Just because emps wrecked the planet doesn't mean chaos is any better but he still got talked around.
