Omg I totally forgot Roland could fly us later on lmao. That deff changes things in my head for our next mon. An iron fist golurk isn't anything to snuff at ngl but I might still prefer tinkatink overall. Either way we shall see how the table blesses us next update

If there is not a small, suspiciously Ostia-shaped child running around in EGL and terrorizing Rime City's internet while her Golurk heals up I'll be sad.

That said despite being contrarian about getting multiple ghosts I WOULD take a Golett just because I love those little guys and nothing says Mariana quite like a cute servant-protector golem that hasn't stopped working for millennia.

You drive a hard bargain, but I have to take it. If a Hoppip appears in the selection, I swear I'll vote for it.

I'll do it. I'm crazy! I don't even like Jumpluff! Nobody likes Jumpluff! But I'll do it!
After using Jumpluff during multiple Colusseum playthroughs (where it was mostly baggage) and watching Alpharad's Twitch Play's Pokemon Crystal video I can confidently say that I absolutely love the guy. If only for meme purposes but still lol

Playing SC and I currently have a small Ostia-shaped child running around with me. When I first met her and after seeing people's reaction to Ostia's picture I was like "oooooh shit o_O"

You fool, every pokemon has someone who calls it their favourite!

And Jumpluff... is shockingly popular.

And this is partially why, and also an incredibly valid reason.

While I don't want a jumpluff you gotta put some respect on the lil dudes name. They were a menace pre gen 5 as a sub/staller. Though whimsicott has sadly out preformed them since :^(

Was it good? It wasn't the worst member of my team (unfortunately, that would have to have been my beloved Sableye). But I took it all the way through the endgame. So it pulled weight.
Let's be fair, anything can pull weight. My Omega Ruby Grumpig solo'd Steven. And she wasn't even the team member I got weirdly attached to that run. (That would be the Dustox, my Contest darling. Officially the coolest, cutest, smartest, toughest and most beautiful and she's got the ribbons to prove it)

I should have remembered this was the case since I am, in fact, one of the world's greatest Camerupt stans.

Now...would a Tinkaton enjoy being launched?
Finally. An opportunity to skip the golf swings and just hit a bird with a hammer.

Now, I know this setting isn't actually based on I Will Touch The Skies (another great pokemon fanfic), but I know that there was inspiration. That some concepts and the fact that any pokemon can be powerful in some way seem inspired. So, I see you all talking about Jumpluff, and how that if you saw it you'd try and catch it, even if you didn't quite know how to make it powerful outside of a few niche strategies?

I'll direct your attention to this one shot please. I read it recently so it's still on my mind, and why I'm bringing it up now that I have the excuse.

It's why if we get a Tinkatink I'd want to have them use a staff/spear. That way they can use it to vault themselves at the enemy.
Spear is my top pick. Though I'm also partial to a nice battle axe for... reasons totally unrelated to Fire Emblem I assure you.

Hilda! Hilda! Tinka! Tinka!

They are well typed for fighting dragons. Nidhoggr is gonna get Play Rough'd.

Technically I think it was just me looking down on Jumpluff. And I only said I'd try to catch a Hoppip.

I overestimated the antipathy for Jumpluff. I should have chosen an even less likeable Pokémon. Surely nobody likes Luvdisc?

(If anyone here does happen to be a big fan of Luvdisc, I want you to know I'm disappointed in you and that you can do better.)

Karen, bring out the sign so I can tap it.

More to the point on Luvdisc specifically, though, not every Pokémon has to be like...good in battle to be a likeable Pokémon. Luvdisc is a perfectly fine Pokémon that fulfills a role in the environment, looks nice, and plays a game role of being a source of Heart Scales even if people are only going to use it on a battle team as a challenge.

So, should we catch one and use it in this Quest?

...absolutely not, unless we want to pivot into Contests, but I'm just saying there's no need to dislike the poor thing on principle.

You're right, that's what the elemental monkeys are for :V

More seriously, one should feel bad for the poor Luvdiscs since they've been the victims of overfishing in some areas due to Heartscale supply demands.

Truly, even in Pokémon, rampant capitalism is the real enemy.

I want to be clear, I don't just dislike it because it's legitimately terrible from a battling perspective. It's not even the worst. That crown belongs to Sunkern, alongside every Pokéathlon trophy in Johto.

I also don't care for, essentially, anything else about it. Some Pokémon I think "It'd be nice if this was stronger" or "It'd be nice if this bit of the design was tweaked". But for Luvdisc? No tweak I'd care for other than making it a different Pokémon.

Also, real talk, why the heck are Luvdisc and Alomomola not related?

I don't need Karen's talk. I repeat: Camerupt is love, Camerupt is life. I love my big volcano camels and anyone who mentions what tier Smogon put them in is getting an Eruption. Or an Earthquake. I have both Special and Physical attacking ones.

Truly, even in Pokémon, rampant capitalism is the real enemy.
Well, vaguely recalling the plot of Sword & Shield and at least one of the movies, you're not wrong.

Everyone should just move to Kalos. Capitalism doesn't hold power there. They actually pay you to go to restaurants.

Eeeh, I kinda disagree?

I think it's fine for some 'mons to look basic, it's fine if they're there mostly for world building and enriching the environment. Not everything has to be cool or designed to be "someone's favourite".

The Luvdiscs/Alomola allegations are legit though lol

You know thinking on it I don't have a pokemon design I can say with certainty that I hate. Maybe I choose to use only the new ones every generation. I do have some strange likes with Porygon2 being something of a mainstay though Ogrepon is kind of my new darling She's just so perfectly friend shaped and the people of old Kitikami had shit taste.

It's worth noting that I like most Pokémon on the whole. So the standards to be my least favourite are less about offending me somehow and more about failing to do anything I find interesting. A crime Luvdisc is sadly guilty of.

I'm not one to gatekeep, but if you don't have at least one Pokémon you just like for strange/inexplicable reasons I question your credentials. Your Porygon2 is proof you're a real Trainer.

We all have one. Or three. Or a few dozen. They're my babies and I love them.

There are no non-viable fully Pokemon in Tera Steel. I will make shit up if I have to, usually by just going off of a Pokemon's Pokedex. I already pick and choose from there.

The only exception for the fully evolved mons is probably Unown, mostly because if you somehow get one, you're getting black-bagged.

This is my Luvdisc named Sookums, it has a kill count in the triple digits. it also gets a lot of likes on pokemon instgram. priorities
