[X] Sozin. The visionary. The genius. The conqueror. Every living person in the world must know his name—and for the last hundred years, most of the dead as well. What led him there? What made him decide to burn the world down, a century before you ever thought the same? And at the end… what did he think of it all?

Yep, Iroh is now seeing for the first time it seems... that Azula is just as broken as Early Series Zuko (Just in a less obvious way about it... until it come out like this, pity he won't remember it)

Though... with how much better Azula is now at firebending (Flame enfleshed entry on the char sheet says she's improved during the loops in firebending), would Iroh be able to take her out without lethal force? (As him being forced to kill her would probably traumatize him, Zuko, Mai and Ty Lee even more in that loop reality).

Especially given Katara wasn't around that last loop agni kai...

I'm really curious about how this:
But why are you going to save them this time, Princess Azula?

(What excuse will you use to pretend?)

[ ] Because they can help.
No.
[ ] Because it's how you win.
No.
[ ] Because Zuko wouldn't expect it.
No.

What a stupid question.

You don't need reasons like that.

You're just going to save them because, after everything, they're still your friends.
Is going to be expressed in the narrative.

Would anyone mind lending Magery their hyperbolic time chamber for bit?

[x] Iroh. Coward. General. Prince. Once, he was the favoured heir, a legendary firebender, the greatest hero the Fire Nation had known since Sozin—now he's a pathetic, doddering fool who thinks he can make everything right with tears and tea. How did he fall so far? How can he possibly think he's still able to rise?

Despite Iroh being a very good option as well in the light of the latest chapter, I think Azula needs a crack or two in her Fire Nation zeal, before she can easily open herself up to the idea of Iroh's wisdom being more than the delusions of a coward and a traitor convincing themselves they're in the right.

Honestly I'm interested in learning what this truth is. It feels important being the only truth not revealed to us

I wonder if it is about the last two dragons.
If I had to guess it's that she, like Zuko, is the great grandchild of Avatar Roku. It's certainly something that a viewer of the show would know, and Zuko would know, but Azula would not know.

I feel like we have to hit some kind of milestone to change the moment the loop starts because starting at "Boiling Rock" is too late.

The way the narrative was describing the physical strain of Azula's comet boosted fire feats makes me wonder if unwitting self-immolation is involved in some of these losses.

Like, too late for what? Too late for Azula to join Team Avatar and become/remain Fire Lord? Or anything along those lines?

Uh, yeah.

But I'm not at all convinced that an ending where Azula is the Fire Lord can break the loop at all.

But Azula is also fourteen. If she makes positive progress towards being a functional person and then makes it through the time loop, she'll probably have a whole life ahead of her to work out what comes next.
