    I'm personally curious to see how the author handles Descent, since their Inanna seems to have been much more open about her compassion and concern for others in the past prior to her journey to the underworld, but afterwards seems to have become very invested in pretending not to care, even when her actions clearly show she does.

    As a side note, since you mentioned unfamiliarity, while mythologically Inanna does castigate Enlil for the great flood, the promise she makes on the rainbow in the comic is a pretty clear ref to the promise the God of Abraham makes to Noah after the flood, which is a nice reversal of how references usually go in mod retellings of the flood narrative.

    Yeah, it's a combination of her oath on her necklace in the Epic of Gilgamesh's version of the Flood and that promise there, which is very cool! I like it a lot. I thought the wording was familiar, but my brain was just going "you recognise it because it's what she said in the myths after the flood" and I didn't actually go and check lmao.
