Showing up in a bunch of random places is kinda Looker's thing, no?
But Looker shows up damn near everywhere because it's literally his job to try and deal with criminal organizations and criminal organizations keep showing up. He's not really supposed to be disconnected from the plot like Anton is.

Looker is like a composite Gralsritter. Trails doesn't tend to repeatedly use the same guy joining the plot, downplaying his connection to an international organisation, and investigating the villains. But it certainly has them a lot.

Anton, on the other hand, is entirely plot-free because he just wants a girlfriend. Him showing up where things are going down is just a coincidence.

...You know who gives me Anton vibes?

Barry, the rival from D/P/Pt, and I cannot for the life of me figure out why. He just goes places fast, has a ridiculous running (heh) gag about taxing you 10,000,000 poke. For some reason that evokes Anton. ...Which would either make Dawn (as the protagonist, which is really funny in this instance) or Lucas (as Rowan's assistant) the "Ricky" in this situation.

I think it'd be really funny if Dawn was pulling Protagonist Duties, right next to being the Ricky to Barry's Anton.

Rules for Pokemon Edibility (as per the Andosin Highlands):
Rock, Steel, Poison, Ghost: No
Psychic, Fairy, Fighting: No! That's a person you're eating
Dragon, Fire, Bug, Electric, Ground, Ice: Maybe, good luck though
Flying, Normal, Grass, Water, Dark: Sure

I feel like, like most things with distinct categories, there's going to be exceptions and edge cases here, I say while putting an Alcremie in a bowl.

Would they eat things like Durant, Steel types that are presumably of the "flesh covered in metal plates" variety?

Authentically cooked Durant meat... you'd need a Heatmor or some very careful skill with fire to make it work.

Would it be cooked live or not? By live I mean cooked as soon as it's ordered, or is it cooked and saved for later?

Now imagining Dawn trying to help Barry find a nice Paldean girlfriend while attempting to ignore the high pitched squee coming from Nemona's direction.

Well, the meat is edible. So I doubt they'd have concerns about that. Though for Durant in particular I imagine that's more difficult since you would basically need a blacksmith to remove the plating. The Heatmor method wouldn't work since they melt the armour, which would let molten metal get at the edible parts.

There's definitely going to be a traditional meal in some corner of Kalos that's just Durant cooked in its own shell before the metal is pried off. They swear it preserves the flavour.

Perhaps steaming a Durant loosens the plates?

On a different note, what's the typical strength tier of a Gym Leader's personal, main team?

I'm guessing anywhere between 8 Badge and Elite Four level, depending on the leader? With the caveat that occasionally it will be lower for one who just took over the job unexpectedly (like because the previous leader died), making them borrow some of their predecessor's mon for 8th badge challenges?

Cause Arceus has a funny sense of humour and made those food-mons people too. :V
I think most of those foodmons have the food as something they conjure or a hair equivalent anyway.

Get a Tinkaton to pry it open.

My first thought here is protesting eating Slowpoketail while people give her confused looks

A thought, if Leaf being a blank slate protagonist meant she could basically just take Sara's personality, I wonder who else has gotten an emergency personality transplant?

I'm struggling with who Estelle would be. Obvious Liberl parallels in Galar say Gloria or I guess Hop. But Nemona is a huge fan of Dawn, so she has to be the one dispensing the U-l-t-r-a-V-i-o-l-e-n-c-e. She even has some of the sun symbolism in her name!

Plus Gloria is definitely Becky. For no other reason than that I refuse to accept a Gloria that isn't aggressively Scottish.

Red is Lloyd, having gotten over the barrier and defeated the endemic political corruption of the Kanto region. Selene is Juna, because if the rapport between her and two Champions fourteen years her senior is known she's clearly an ascended fangirl. Either that or she's Red & Blue's unofficially adopted daughter.

Wes was Van. Unfortunately, he got Kuro II Trailer'd.

Get a Tinkaton to pry it open.
"Pry it open" is a very odd way to say "smash it with a giant hammer". I could only figure out the meaning from context. (the context being 'Tinkaton')

Why don't you roll the phantasmal feline check now? The only difference in the plans is how we're training Roland this turn.
