Don't forget we also need to decide whether to use our free TR on Roland. Will-o-wisp is a great move for attrition, both debuffing and DoTing the enemy quite reliably (I assume it still always Burns if it hits, since it doesn't deal damage and therefore the Burn is the primary effect.) Would have saved our asses in the Nemona fight, even...if Chimchar wasn't immune to it.

We HAVE been using mainly direct attack strategies in the past, though, so the question is whether we want to also spend time training up more attrition-y moves like Will-o-Wisp, Infestation, and our evasion options.

I do yes.

I got to vote with the heart, and the heart wants Ghost Types and Attrition Combat with Andosin pride.

I think its mostly that currently attrition requires at least parity or a second pokemon to take advantage, and Nemona is not it lol.

Forgot to mention
Reworked parts of the battle system
Separated Secondary Effects from Effect Modifiers. It now operates on a 1d20+SKLL DC system. DC of Simple starts at 20 and increases per Move Complexity. Also added some other changes and included the statuses

[X] An Espurr

Not 100% sure on the teach it vs save the will-o-wisp for another pokemon question.

Also in terms of First Gym, we have three weeks remaining before the first Field Study, so here's some thoughts on these guys as second Pokémon:
  • Espurr needs a total of 9 Bond Points before she will help us in Gyms. In theory if we used exactly all of our actions (and we don't owe Leaf an action this month, which I think we might), we MIGHT be able to get them to Bond 3. I'm not willing to invest that hard, though.
  • Ratatta is benched for two weeks, and we'd only be able to train it for one week right before the FS.
  • Shuppet has no restrictions.
  • Nothing means we can look for a different second Pokémon with one fewer week to train it.
Also, important note, we're not obligated to challenge a Gym on the Field Study, it's just our opportunity to get in a free try if we want to. Technically we can spend an AP to do it whenever.

tbh the clothes vote is more a protest of the lack of casual clothes in Actual ScarVi.

[X] An Espurr

  • Tera Types: Psychic, Fairy, Dark
  • Has Trait "Phantasmal Potential": Has access to both movesets of both Male and Female Meowstic once it evolves. Has access to moves the Espurr line should have no business learning. Has access to a singular ranged Complex Move from every type. These moves cannot upgrade. These moves cannot be used for custom move creation.
...wait the Espurr is a magical girl?

Ghost specialist route? Tbh I just like the shuppet line though.

I don't want Roland to be an attrition fighter.

[X] An Espurr

A traumatized psychic type who was made stronger through shady human experiments and now needs to learn not all of them are bad.
I am getting Mewtwo vibes from this character and I like it.

I don't think teaching it to Roland is going to be a good idea, he won't benefit from it too much. I would like to keep it until we have a better target for it. We can only use the thing once after all.
