My issue with this is we could likely steal both the strike and the Astray but they're alliance products. Meaning we can't withhold the schematics for them when we reach an Earth base. This is more of a just-in-case measure to get a leg up in the battle to come if we fuck up a Diplo DC with Kira. Oh, Turbo said it would help, okay we might really need it then... Okay, I really need to sleep, it's literally 3 am. Let me whip up a quick plan.
The colony itself is fairly saveable... Well, we can at least avoid total collapse and give Kira the sword and not the Launcher... hopefully... Then Try to force the battle outside the colony rather than have it collapse due to misfired missiles/exploding MS.
[X] Plan - Rails but Guns
- [X] Incomplete Natural-use OS: A very incomplete OS, but still better than the heap of spaghetti that the OMNI Enforcer is using. [Piloting Malus with no Natural OS changed from -10 to -7 when booted into a mobile suit]
- [X] Body Armor: Slightly more protected. But noticeable to a trained eye. [Martial +0.5; Intrigue -0.5. Temporary.]
- [X] Handgun(s): Suitable for concealed carry. Still noticeable to a trained eye. [Martial +1; Intrigue -1. Temporary. Two Maximum.]
- [X] Professor Katō's Laboratory: This was where they met in the first timeline. Also conveniently close to the Earth Alliance Industrial Sector. [Potential confrontation. May encounter difficult DCs and VCs (versus checks).]
- [X] Professor Katō's Laboratory: This was where they met in the first timeline. Also conveniently close to the Earth Alliance Industrial Sector. [Potential confrontation. May encounter difficult DCs and VCs (versus checks).]
- [X] Say nothing: Information has to be tightly controlled. Her heart aches for the staff but this is for the best. [Affects Narrative.]
Basically canon but with the Natural OS. I think once the break in the battles comes we hurry for the Astray's... Gold will most likely be gone tho.
Orb didn't steal any plans. They help develop the Gundams while maintaining the veil of neutrality that won't last forever.you know the astrays would raise red flags cause they were built with stolen plans if I recall so yeah they are a incident waiting to happen
IMO, it's very possible, just a question of what kind of price you are willing to pay to do it.I think saving the colony is impossible. So the next thing should be getting Kira out safely, get a mobile suit, destroy all others if possible, if we can't destroy them at least make sure strike and it's schematics or natural OS don't get to the alliance ( this is more a long term thing).
If things go the way as normal, with Kira and Cagalli running across Murrue fighting off Athrun and his bunkmate Rusty when they come down to steal the Strike and Aegis..... it's a prime opportunity for Cagalli to steal the Aegis.Basically canon but with the Natural OS. Would they even be thay much of a threat without the natural OS? If the alliance doesn't have Kira then they'd be what moths to years out making a usable OS. If they try to mass produce in its current form then zaft will have the tech either way. If they domt I don't see them cleaning it up before zagt wins.Alternatively, successfully calling the port could save the entire original G-Project team and Archangel crew. Especially if the original pilots got into the G-Weapons early, Le Creuset would fail his mission entirely. But it would completely derail canon and, as pointed out, allow the Earth Alliance to retain everything (and potentially Blue Cosmos). Athrun might never get the Justice. Kira might never be let near the Strike.
I'm not sure about that.successfully calling the port could save the entire original G-Project team and Archangel crew
Sahaku/Orb/Morgenroete promised to help. Getting EA/OMNI tech is not part of the agreement but they should've know there's no free lunch anywaysOrb didn't steal any plans. They help develop the Gundams while maintaining the veil of neutrality that won't last forever.
Being fair, Sahaku is arguably getting close to getting something workable. So even if OMNI doesn't get Kira's handiwork, Orb will eventually get Sahaku's version in maybe a few months.Would they even be thay much of a threat without the natural OS? If the alliance doesn't have Kira then they'd be what moths to years out making a usable OS.
Oh. Well then.I'm not sure about that.I want them dead.*Cough* I mean, it is more like a flair text thing at first. Unless you guys write-in specifically with plans saving them I'm not sure how long they would be in the picture (・_・;
You mean Blue Cosmos as Azrael and Lord Douchebag would want it for their forces.
Eh, same difference, they'd give it to the rest of the OMNI anyway, or at least all the loyalist units within it that they wanted to put big guns into the hands of. Which is apparently no small number given Blue Cosmos' popularity. You mean Blue Cosmos as Azrael and Lord Douchebag would want it for their forces.
Which is ridiculous as Blue Cosmos went from an attack dog/pawn of LOGOS to somehow take over the entire Earth Alliance and they act like Saturday morning cartoon mustache twirling villains.Which is apparently no small number given Blue Cosmos' popularity.
We don't need to follow Seed canon where almost everyone is super hateful at each other to the point of cartoonish level.Hmm, I don't really want to let all the Archangel crew die, but a lot of them are probably anti-coordinator which would be a big problem for canon events if they lived.
Can't the whole hanger blows up as soon as Kira gets into the Gundam. So without a mobile suit and if the sequence of events happen the same, anyone outside a mobile suite is dead.IMO, it's very possible, just a question of what kind of price you are willing to pay to do it.
Even if the G-Weapons get stolen as per canon, it's probably possible to convince Sahaku to sortie his 3 prototype Astrays to defend it. Then you'd have 4 suits, making it entirely possible to not only fight off not only ZAFT's grunts in the GINNs, but potentially also the other 4 stolen suits - though, seeing 4 other supersuits show up to defend the colony might also just make Le Creuset retreat from the place prematurely.
There's even enough pilots for them all. Cagalli, Sahaku, Kira and Mu who could probably handle one of them with an incomplete Natural OS, especially if Kira were able to upgrade it a little bit.
But the cost is having to rely on Sahaku, who is not exactly an upstanding person. And he will probably try to take back the two prototypes afterwards. Even if not, he will still have access to the unassembled Green and Mirage frames and get them quickly assembled. The whole thing will also very much derail the entirety of canon. The Astray Lab being a political landmine would be the least of the problems.

Would derail canon too. But might not be such a bad thing, if Athrun and Rusty could also get taken alive at that point. Awakening Athrun could really shortcut a lot of things. Though I suspect it would be even more expensive than Awakening Jesus Yamato himself.
Atmosphere would not leak out THAT fast like in the movies, the colony has its own gravity and spin gravity. You should have time to don a suit or reach a shelter. Anyone far from the breach will start losing atmo fast though, as the air leaks out. Can't the whole hanger blows up as soon as Kira gets into the Gundam. So without a mobile suit and if the sequence of events happen the same, anyone outside a mobile suite is dead.
Problem with that is to have a reason for a Zafts officer that took a shot at her in the cockpit. If we take the Aegis and let him in anyway then we'd have to keep him from taking it from us while in a fight for the colony.Edit:right you meant the explosion...3 people can fit in that cockpit...itll just be very cramped, Marrue's bountiful tracts of land notwithstanding.
If you mean the facility where the Strike and Aegis were being held, sure there were lots of explosions but there was enough time for Kira and Athrun to climb into the suits and walk out. Can't the whole hanger blows up as soon as Kira gets into the Gundam. Cagalli has no reason to be in a G-Weapon cockpit herself. Not even as a VIP from Orb, since it's Earth Alliance property. She get into trouble just for climbing in, forget having two prisoners riding with her. The Astrays are the only suits she might have any legal right to use, but she'd need to get past Sahaku to get in one of those.Problem with that is to have a reason for a Zafts officer that took a shot at her in the cockpit. "And that kids is how I met your mother. She tied me up and put me inside the Aegis Gundam like a punk in a trunk." - Athrun to his twin children in the future probablyCagalli would be tossing their zip-tied bodies into the Aegis like luggage.
Okay, the better question is how many points to awaken Murrue. We will need to avoid Alaska anyway. If you mean the facility where the Strike and Aegis were being held, sure there were lots of explosions but there was enough time for Kira and Athrun to climb into the suits and walk out.
If Athrun and Rusty got taken alive, they wouldn't be riding with Kira and Murrue. Cagalli would be tossing their zip-tied bodies into the Aegis like luggage.
Would not be a good idea to have them anywhere near Murrue anyway, look how she treated Kira's friends at the start and they were just innocent civilians. Natarle would be worse, once they got to the Archangel she'd be one step away from wanting to execute them in revenge for killing the original crew. Doesn't matter whether Athrun got Awakened or not, she wouldn't trust them.
Cagalli would need to make their bodies disappear before joining up with Kira again. Ideally she'd Awaken Athrun and get him into an Astray, but who knows whether she'd have enough points for it. Most likely she'd have to lock him in the safehouse until she has enough.
If she ends up having to board the Archangel, she'd probably have to shave his head or something and hide him among the refugees. And then give him sunglasses and call him Alex Dino when it's time to introduce him as a pilot.

Kira only got to pilot because Murrue got knocked out.Once that happens, Cagalli gets to run off to hide the bodies without having an angry OMNI officer there to scream and point a gun at her. (Actually, now I check back, Murrue getting knocked out only happened after he beat Miguel but the point still stands, Murrue didn't even want to let Kira touch the controls to begin with.)
Pretty sure if Murrue wasn't out cold and saw Cagalli piloting the Aegis, Murrue would try to fight her. And obviously fail, since she's no good at piloting a mobile suit, much less one without a proper OS, but she'd be screaming abuse at Cagalli and yelling at her to surrender the suit at the same time as trying to grab it with the Strike.
Can she avoid it? The orders are over her head and the crew isn't going to be loyal enough to ignore higher up orders.Okay, the better question is how many points to awaken Murrue. We will need to avoid Alaska anyway.
Did you already forget the Zala faction? It's too bad we were put into this situation. On paper Zafts up until seed destiny is the morally correct faction. The alliance has always been cartoon crazy.
Patrick is what you call justified in his motives but unjustified in how he goes about acting on them.
