"I...I apologize for conduct unbecoming a ruler of my station." She says.

"As long as you learned the right lesson." You say sternly.

Aska chuckles nervously.

"How...how about I help defend that castle for now? This...Council, do you call it? And the Jama Kingdom...if they manage to conquer Cephiro, who's to say they won't go after Fahren next?" Aska says.

"So you did learn the right lessons." You quip.
On the bright side of things, Aska realized the error of her ways and would like to learn how to be a proper and real ruler from Relena Peacecraft.

It's a beginning of a beautiful friendship.

I believe the proper emphasis is definitely on 'beginning'. Making the right direction once is a good start, but it will take time for lessons to sink in.

*indescribable sounds of disappointment at the lack of discussion or shitposting*

Update to come tomorrow, with a vote this time, since that seems to be the only thing that generates discussion in this thread.

I think, at least in part with this update, is that our plan went off pretty much perfectly. We got everything that we wanted, and managed to avoid all the pitfalls.

It's a new year's eve. Plan not for forum-goers to be present for a week before and a week after Jan 1st.
Sorry.

April UE 0084
Jindai High School Front Courtyard, Tokyo

Kyoko Tokiwa leads you to where Sosuke is currently moping.

"What's he been doing again?" You ask.

"Sosuke's been breaking into the courtyard and just...lying there each day. He vaults the gate after the first bell and mopes behind one of the storage sheds, then sneaks out with the rest of the students after last period ends. This has been going on for the last 6 days." Kyoko explains.

"Oh boy..." You pinch the bridge of your nose.

"Did something...happen?" Kyoko asks.

"It's related to something that happened to Kaname. I'm not at liberty to say anything more about it." You say.

"Oh...is Kaname alright, at least?" Kyoko asks.

"Well, she's still alive. Everything else is...classified. I'm sorry." You say.

"Ah..." Kyoko glances down for a moment before looking back up. "Behind that shed."

"Thanks. I'll take it from here." You pat Kyoko on the shoulder in an attempt to reassure her. You're not sure if it had the desired effect, but at the least she didn't seem to shudder at your touch.

As Kyoko heads back inside, you poke your head around the corner of the shed to see Sosuke, lying flat on his back and looking up at the sky. You note that he's wearing his Jindai High uniform.

"Sosuke...what are you doing?" You ask.

Sosuke glances up at you without moving.

"I'm not entirely sure myself, Lieutenant Ayana." Sosuke replies.

"Look, I know what happened to Kaname has gotten to you, but this isn't the healthiest way to deal with it. Let's go somewhere we can talk in private." You say.

After a few seconds, Sosuke wordlessly lifts his arm, which you grab to help him get up.

A few minutes later, the two of you are in Kaname's old apartment, Sosuke having made a spare key shortly before the school trip.

"Wow, you look like shit." You note now that you can get a better look at Sosuke.

"My mental distress over the last few days has caused me to neglect my hygiene." Sosuke says.

"Have you talked to Heero and Setsuna about this?" You know that the three of them have formed a sort of informal brotherhood.

"Heero was able to relate a few instances of his feelings when Relena Peacecraft was in distress, but they're a poor parallel for the situation with Kaname." Sosuke says.

You suck in a deep breath as you think.

"Sosuke, how do you feel about this?" You ask after a bit.

Sosuke mulls over your question for a bit.

"...helpless." He admits.

"Why?" You ask.

"After the battle with Gjallarhorn, Chidori's personality had suddenly, inexplicably shifted. I felt as if I had failed her somehow." Sosuke explains.

"Whatever happened to Kaname isn't your fault in the slightest. The real question is, how do you plan to get the Kaname you know back?" You ask Sosuke.

"I...I don't know." Sosuke admits.

"Well, moping about it here isn't going to help. Some Newtypes and Marianne vi Britannia are going over to the Tuatha de Danaan to try and figure out what's going on with Kaname. You might as well sit in on it, so let's go." You sit up.

Sosuke gets up, and, after taking a look around Kaname's apartment, follows you out.

"Thanks." Sosuke says.

"Hey, what are friends for?" You ask rhetorically.

Central Pacific Ocean, Aboard the Tuatha de Danaan

You are Teletha 'Tessa' Testarossa, and you are pacing back and forth outside the submarine's medical bay as you wait for the Newtypes and Marianne vi Britannia to finish their evaluation of her. Although a rival for Sosuke's affection, she's still your friend, and you refuse to abandon her in a time like this.

Your thoughts are interrupted as the doors to the medbay open, with Beecha Oleg, Elle Viano, Judau Ashta, Roux Louka, Kamille Bidan, Fa Yuiry, and Marianne vi Britannia filing out into the hallway.

"Did you manage to figure anything out?" You ask.

"Well, there's definitely a second personality in Kaname's body. The problem is, we can't determine the exact nature of it." Kamille explains.

"What do you mean by that?" You ask in confusion.

"Well, it's definitely not a Newtype ghost. We know what those are like, hell, some of us have interacted with them before. This 'Sophia' is nothing like that." Judau says.

"And it's not a Geass either. I tried communicating with both Sophia and Kaname, and it seemed like my methods were...incompatible." Marianne says.

"What do you mean 'incompatible'?" You ask with a raised eyebrow.

"The point is, 'Sophia' is unlike any psychic entity we've encountered before. Based on the MRI and neural scans, it seems most similar to Quantum Brainwaves like those Allelujah Haptism and Marie Parfacy have, but you have to be born with those, they don't just spontaneously develop, if the Human Reform League's research data is to be trusted." Fa explains.

"Like Quantum Brainwaves, but not...?" You try to tap into the Whispers to see if you can gain any insight, only to come up empty.

Your discussion is cut short by a blaring klaxon. You walk over to the closest phone and pick it up, dialing the bridge.

"This is the captain, what's going on?" You ask.

"Apologies, ma'am, but it seems like Amalgam has managed to find us. There's a large, unidentified naval group closing in on our position." Mardukas says.

"I'll be there as soon as I can." You hang up the phone before turning to address the others. "Amalgam has found us. No doubt their objective is Kaname."

"What do you want us to do?" Kamille asks.

Amalgam has pinpointed the location of the Tuatha de Danaan, and is moving to board it with overwhelming force.

VOTE BY PLAN

What other friendly reinforcements are coming? (Pick ONE)

[ ] The Colony Gundams

[ ] Dancouga + Dancouga Nova

[ ] Combattler V + Mazinkaiser

Where does Tessa choose to confront Amalgam?

[ ] The Blue Ocean
-Straightforward to fight in, although Amalgam will also know how to do so.

[ ] The Red Ocean
-Amalgam will have to avoid environmental hazards, although the Tuatha de Danaan will also be subject to the same risks.

Aside from what technologies the Tuatha de Danaan has in FMP canon, what other modifications have Tessa's Whispers given her the ability to implement? (Pick ONE)

[ ] Chakra Technology (Brain Powerd)
-Will grant access to Chakra cannons and a sub-encompassing Chakra Shield

[ ] Trapar Technology (Eureka 7)
-Will grant access to Trapar Cannons and the ability for unconventional maneuvers via Lifting

[ ] Aurora Blueprints (Cross Ange)
-Will grant access to a sub-encompassing energy barrier and the Cryo Beam

A/N: Turns out I was so incensed by the lack of activity that I decided to write another update. Anyway, the start of the FMP event. Please vote, discuss, and critique!

Cryo Beam fills me with warm and fuzzy feeling of creating artificial icebergs and shaping battlefield in other fun, despicable ways.
And that calls for maximum HAZARD.

[X] Aurora Blueprints (Cross Ange)
[X] The Red Ocean
[X] Combattler V + Mazinkaiser

and reinforcements are by the power of elimination.

Boy, doesn't Sosuke have it hard. Plus default method of "Repress and deny" of dealing with his emotions... This guy needs good male role model and therapy. And possibly someone to talk to Kaname about care and feeding of recovering child soldiers.

People, meanwhile, are so close but so far from truth behind Whishpered. And boy, there was a lot of newtypes to visit one medbay.

Can someone summarize an explanation for Kaname about how to react to Sosuke's violent overprotectiveness? Because literally doesn't know other ways to protect people he loves and to communicate his feelings and he doesn't even understand his feelings and haven't been taught how to express them beyond "if it's something you need, put a mine field around it so no one can take it away" and poor boy just... Aagh.

Alright, can someone give me a description of the Chakra technology. I have never seen Brain Powered before, so I do not know what kinds of technology and abilities of that series

The only reason I put tech from Brain Powerd as an option is because it's one of the only series in SRW that involves aquatic combat that isn't Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water. (seriously, you can count the number of series ever put in SRW with an emphasis on aquatic combat on one hand, and Gargantia doesn't have a dedicated ship) As for what Chakra tech can do, think of it as, from what I understand of it (and take it with a grain of salt because it's next to impossible to find both the show online and a dedicated wiki for it) it's basically dollar-store Getter Rays, and they don't even influence evolution (at least, I think).

Aside from their own units, Amalgam's got its hands on quite a mix of different units (ZAFT units are especially a surprise here, since Amalgam would have a limited opportunity to obtain said units, unless Le Creuset is feeling particularly bold enough to actually sell ZAFT equipment to those who thinks are useful to his plans, but that's something too risky for him to do).

For Whispered tech, I'm mostly tempted to go for the Aurora Blueprints, since our main priority right now is to stall the Amalgam assault until the rest of our forces get here (and Cryo Beam + Energy Barrier should help with that goal; that said, I'm willing to hear opinions on the other choices). Once they arrive, we send the ARX-8 and the Vivian after the Belial and have the ARX-8 use its Fairy Feather System to deactivate the Belial's Lambda Drive, at which point Marianne should be able to handle Leonard quite easily, removing the most dangerous enemy from the field.

Me dumb, me not read, me repents.

My only concern here is if we are seeing Cross Ange tech here, does that mean that somewhere out there in reach is a version of Stupid Hair working for the Council?

Don't worry, all versions of Embryo see the Council as utterly beneath him. Not that the Council hasn't tried to get an iteration of him in their camp...they stopped after one iteration of him leveled a planet in retaliation for offending his sensibilities very badly during attempts to negotiate.

They do learn!
Those are wrong lessons, mind.

...That is... uhhh...

worrying

Hrm... Does that mean that there is a possibility of encountering each of the series that the Whispered have a chance to meet with.

Wait, does that mean that the Whispered's abilities and Sophia are on the same kind of scale as the reach of the Council? Capable of viewing many worlds?

Or maybe it's timey-wimey wibbly-wobbly stuff and there would have been (sans Council) a contact with other worlds before Sophia threw her knowledge back in time.

I wonder if Whispered have a interdimensional tech to travel outside and smach Council in the face in their home.

Recovering from Cold, Flu, Hunger, and Cold.

Ice makes me cry right now, but maybe then Leonard will feel my pain.

[X] Plan: Electric Icy Hazard

I will admit, I'm tempted by the Dancouga Duo for sheer saturation fire, but Combattler and Mazinkaiser are much more viscerally violent and Beams are nerfed heavily in water.

Also, Behemoths. Eugh.
