If we want to be really egotistical and pretentious, why not go with a biblical name or something!

Besides it sounds cool, in a somewhat cringe inducing way doesn't it? (EX USS. Nephilim, USS. Throne, USS. Leviathan)

I don't think Starfleet has much of a say in civilian cargo haulers, I might be wrong but the freighters of star trek are usually not tied to Starfleet at all; I do like how cargo haulers look like in STO though. (I just really like the background ships in Star-trek in general).

Yeah.~ We, kinda, need to learn the Regenerative before we try to also make it conformative.
 
I looked at it again and the Type 8 is the original shield system for the Sovereign Class.

You can see it very well when she takes fire.
The shields are on the hull and no bubble.

In the MovieStar Trek: First Contact and Star Trek: Insurrection bubble shield after that in Nemesis there are on the hull close-fitting shields.
