Attempting to Fulfil The Plan: ISOT Edition

I'm on the Sherman train. She's got the best qualifications for all the locks and dams we're building by far, and presumably we have enough vetting that she won't deliberately cause a dam collapse to own the reds or something.

This omake makes me really want to focus on ending slavery once and for all. John Brown's body is yet to exist but his soul goes marching on!
Indeed, it's very alarming how wide a web the Nazi pirates of Rhodes are weaving. Yet that same web will make ending slavery a pain- it's something that could well escalate to occupying the entire boot of Italy and the Eastern Mediterranean coast. In the short term, we'll need to be content with having our ironclads sink their navy while we spread the revolution to the rest of the Aegean and Anatolian coast.
This promises to vastly reduce the labor required for many construction projects, and while the lack of rebar hurts, it can still be worked around for the time being.
Well, at least that will mean a little less frequent maintenance and that it will last for a long time (though monuments we'd like to last will probably be few compared to minimalist quads thrown up on short notice). Building stuff from concrete but without rebar is something of a lost art, the rediscovery will be interesting. At least it will wean the few surviving civil engineers off of their rebar addiction. Seriously guy you don't need to put rebar in sidewalks, it's not like concrete has the consistency of rotten wood without it!

This guy should be competent enough, he has dam building experience as well as the theory from his degree. He's more politically reliable than Sherman and I think his experience more than balances out the fact that he didn't get a chance to write his dissertation or whatever. I wouldn't be upset if Sherman wins though.

Looks like troys gonna end up succumbing to too few elites syndrome if the reports aren't exaggerating their losses. Lmao at lesbos making it's power play. Their prosperity is to our advantage and hopefully a few of them cutting their teeth in combat as volunteers will help them keep Rhodes at bay. Hattum seems to also be about to fall apart but they're unconnected to us enough that that's more academic. Hopefully as the merchant navy grows and we get more trade we can get more information. I suspect the republic of Rome would make an excellent trading partner but we haven't gotten any updates from them since smallpox hit.

[X]Sonia Sherman: A civil engineer before the Event, Sherman led much of the construction campaigns of the government of Andros before fleeing from the invasion by Rhodes. While the most qualified candidate for this position, her political reliability is low. (-5 Political Support)

He has an 21st college education, experience with our construction projects, and is politically reliable.

Please do not choose the weirdo lib because she has a fancy degree we should be above that kind of liberal meritocracy bullshit

as a university student, let me tell you that theoretical knowledge is not nearly as valuable as practical experience managing large scale projects. and sonia has both so... whats a couple off coloured reactionary jokes between friends

[X]Kristin Mackenzie: A carpenter before the Event, Mackenzie does not have as much engineering knowledge as other candidates, however she is extremely politically reliable and has been in the Republic longer than any other candidate.
