Oh my god! It's great to see this back! Glad to read that things are going better for you Brightflame!

Now onto the turn!

-[X] (MARTIAL) Exert Control Over Neo-Kanto's Underworld
DC 40/60/80
57 + 13 = 70
Great Success

The zone-wide operation to subjugate Rocket's competition in the underworld has gone remarkably well, in spite of Surge's absence. Your commander was off the battlefield, leaving the majority of the heavy lifting to the branch managers of their respective districts. You take a mental note to get the names of the captains involved in case you ever need a higher position to be filled.

The operations were simple in nature, and difficult in execution. A squad or two of grunts approached whatever rundown building or obvious front your petty competitors used as a base of operations, scouted it out for access to its ventilation system, and then filtered Koffing's Smog through it. Most of the competition were rendered powerless before the raid began, and the rest were drowned out by Rocket's numbers.

In the end, there had been no severe casualties on your side, while the petty gangs that opposed them had been press ganged or dealt with. Now, Rocket's grip on the underworld was near-absolute. The assigned squads were able to seize their profits in a sizable amount of cold, hard, zenny. While most will be directed to Rocket's efforts, a small cut of them does make their way into your personal account.

Control over the zone's Underworld is established, and dominance is ensured.
Gain +5 Funds from goods seized during the raids.
Additional Actions Unlocked.

Oh yeah that's what I wanna read! Team Rocket showing everyone who's boss in the criminal side!

-[X] (DIPLOMACY) Now Hiring (Neo-Kanto)
DC 23
73 + 23 = 96
Critical Success

OMG SO MANY GOOD OPTIONS! King od sad we can only pick one...oh well.

Now who to pick? All of them offer some really good stuff. Joey seems like the one that has the most room to grow, not offering much at the beginning but can give bigger rewards the more we invest on him, might have been my pick if we weren't lacking on other areas. Wilton seems like he could help us on the stewardship area, which we are lacking a little, a really good option to cover some bases. Eusine can help us get farther on Pokemon research and that makes It really tempting, also I just really like his character. Copycat seems like a good intrigue hero that we shouldn't pass on, her ability to mimic people can take us really far if we use her properly, also she has a ditto, those are really cool! Karen seems like a really solid pick in general, better grab her before she is recruited by someone else.

Honestly I would go for Wilton or Copycat this turn, and Karen the next.

-[X] (STEWARDSHIP) Open up Curry Kitchens
DC 30
50 + 23 = 73
Stupendous Success

With the vagrants cleared out, you put Rocket's efforts to acquire the deeds to the buildings that once housed their hideouts. After that, it was only a matter of repairing the damage for it to be suitable for serving Neo-Kanto's most desperate citizens for a meal of rice and curry, and of course ensuring there's a backroom for your underlings to engage in the less noble act of fencing stolen goods. To make efforts all the more sweeter, several small caches of zennys were found during renovation, beneath the floorboards and in secret holes in the walls, fattening your own account as well as the coffers of Rocket.

Curry Kitchens are established in each District
+10 to Public Perception.
Annual Income increased.
+2 Funds from hidden loot uncovered.

Nice! Public opinion and more money for our wallet!

-[X] (INTRIGUE) Organize an Informant Network
DC 45
12 + 37 + 15 = 64
Decent Success

Your efforts to gather a series of trusted informants under a single network has progressed smoothly and without interruption. While Silph Co may heavily restrict any material coming into the Zone, they can do little to suppress mere words, and foreign merchants visiting what few local establishments they can access are always willing to share their stories. Especially when they're offered an ample amount of Zenny. With some time, Rocket has now established a reliable network of informants that regularly visit the Zone and are just as willing to trade information as much as their goods. No longer will Rocket be kept in the dark!

Informant Network Established
Rival Reports Unlocked

Oh thank god things went well this time around, even with a low roll our bonuses carried the day.

-[X] (LEARNING) Develop a New Pokeball (Ariana)
DC 50/70
6 + 13 + 28 + 2 + 7 = 56
Bare Success

Nice to see this, maybe we could start selling net balls in the future alongside other pokeballs we create?? Silph Co has a monopoly in poke balls no? Could be an interesting avenue to grab some power from them I suppose?

-[X] (Personal) (Giovanni) Train Your Pokemon
EXP gained:
Persian = 72
Kangaskhan = 68
Rhyhorn = 21
Onix = 27
Golem = 98!

Nice! Its good to see our Mons getting some work out!

-[X] (Personal) (Giovanni) Train with Master Kiyo
70

Oh Martial Increase! Love seeing this.

-[X] (Personal) (Giovanni) Visit the Neo-Kanto Underground Market
95

Honestly I say we give our Kangaskhan, Not only this gives us an access to an Eevee to study, we could also breed That Eevee to get more of them in the future? Not sure how hard would it be to set it up but I remember there was a learning option for Breeding? That would be an interesting avenue to check out.
-[X] (Personal) (Ariana) Take Public Speaking Classes
3

...Ouch. not all Actions get good rolls I suppose. Though at least nothing too bad happened.
-[X] (Personal) (Surge) Get in Contact with Your Old Comrades
89

Uhh that's really interesting, we have Jax from MK and Grit from AW here. Having access to the PMCs and mercenary groups could help us in a pinch, we just need to find ways to make their uses more viable.

In general, a really good turn!

I mean...is a Eevee really worth it, like yeah cool evolution Pokemon, but our team is solid as is and getting a Eevee is not really...how to put this, visually consistent with our image of strength as a "Legitimate Business Owner" nor does it get into the Ground Type

Along with what Drago had already said about them being a status symbol, Eevees are also prized for being very flexible and capable of working in most, non-specialized teams, being very capable pokemon so long as the trainer knows how to utilize its strengths properly.

If not, even just having it could provide some extra opportunities...many avid pokemaniacs and independent Pokemon researchers covet such a creature and could easily be 'bought' if such a Pokemon was offered to them, assuming you would be willing to give the Eevee up inexchange for other services.

To clarify, the next 'Now Hiring' action would be an auto-pass next turn and you can select any that you didn't pick this turn. This is a result of criting the action.

Well, that Martial upgrade should come in handy. Let's keep training that up! I'm also curious if there's any way to buff our Learning, which is our other major weak point at the moment.

Most likely we will need to get a teacher or mentor to give us classes, either that or hit the books on our own, but I expect it will not give as many gains/take more time.

Could be worth a shot to try a write in personal for that if allowed next turn,better round up our weakest stats as much as we can ASAP.

I'd rather recruit as many hero units as possible quickly, raising our own stats is nice and something we'll do naturally just to fill em all out, but nothing beats a unit dedicated to a single stat.

Copycat is still drawing my attention, speaking of hero units.

Welcome back, I'm glad to see this quest return, and good to know that things have improved for you.

In terms of the choices, I say we recruit Copycat for the dedicated intrigue unit, then either Karen for dark type and the potential elite level trainer, or Eusine for making mons stronger (and likely help in figuring out some "weird" evolutions like metal coat trade for our Onix).

As for trades, I say we trade for kangaskhan, while it's one of our better mons right now, it does not fit the ground theme, it can't evolve (and even if mega-evolution gets added at some point, Steelix could fill that role) and it's not our signature/starter.

Edit: Looking back, the QM said that Z-Moves and megas would not be added, so that is irrelevant.

I was considering Onix or Rhyhorn honestly, neither of them are that rare, and they're falling behind the others. An Eevee is worth the price of a slacker who isn't particularly valuable. But Kangaskhan is also definitely an option, but isn't it rare though?

How would using eevee to nab eusine work? Would it be a personal action? National?

[X] Copycat
[X] Yes
-[X] Kangaskhan
