Hetairoi (No SV, You are a Companion of Alexander the Great)

[X] His Most Loyal Son
-[X]Determined: Failure is never an option now… That means you must drive yourself forward. Because you had to.
-[X]The Cavalry: You rode with the nobles and mercenaries… they were people who wanted to meet you since your father introduced you at court.

I'm all for having a very good relationship with Alexander, but I don't want to be a loyal and dependent appendage/brocon.

(Is that the right word? I'm not quite fluent in internet-anime. :D )

-[X]The Heteroi: Alexander wants you by his and father's side, and so you will follow.

Alexander was beside you with the other members of his Heteroi, and he smiled. "Smell the air brother, can you feel the great power that we are marching at the head of? Of the glory that we will gain for Macedon and for our family!" He pointed at the others.

The others did not hoot or haw, but they remained quiet. They knew what was happening, and that you were the one he was speaking to. For they already knew what they wanted in their hearts.

It was yours. "Come now brother, we are going to be with Father, it will be his glories that we will witness." You smiled as you took a breath, only to not feel the same confidence that you had before giving the answer.

You knew that it would not be the greatest outcome. You were still subservient to your father's wishes and commands.

Alexander smiled at the answer before he looked closely at his horse, and he looked to his other companions. "I see my brother's ambition is only cemented by his glory for his loyalty as a son." A moment passed before Ptolemy looked up. "You want to speak of boring one?"

"Yes Alexander, we seem to be summoned by your father." He stated quietly, as you saw Philip waiting for all of you, and he was not enthusiastic about you waiting and talking.

"Stop lagging boys, we are going to speak, and speak now before we begin." He ordered, as he dismounted, silently ordering you to do the same.

You realized you were on a hill, overlooking the main Macedonian Army formation, and you took a breath and whispered. "We're far above father."

"Indeed." He stated firmly, as he looked to the others. "Look below, look at the responsibility that you now have. I will not give you command of this until you have earned it, and as my son's Hetairoi, you will need to earn it, or you will not survive."

You looked down to see the thousands of men gathered for battle, marching towards the objective with the will of their officers, and the will of their king. "Look down and realize that they are loyal to me. And only me. Any chance of you succeeding, in any glory that may come after me, must come from them. They must follow you. And they must trust you, as they trust me."

Than he marched back towards his horse, and mounted himself quickly, not needing any assistance from his subordinates or bodyguard. "There will come a time, when I view you as ready, to give your opinion, but for now, you will watch, you will learn, and you will obey every instruction that I give you."

"Any questions?"

What do you ask?:
[]Write in
[]Say nothing, father will explain all in time.

AN: Enjoy.

[X] when completing your instructions, what is more important? That they are done Well? Or that they are done Gloriously?

[]Say nothing, father will explain all in time.
EDIT:
[X] "Who is it that has earned your wrath, father?"

Philip with the hard earned kingly lessons.

What do you ask?:
[Y] Why aren't we using stirrups?

The time has come for the uplift.

What do you ask?:
[X] "Who is it that has earned your wrath, father?"

I would assume that we would already know in universe, but I don't think it's been said in the quest. I imagine it's Thracians or Illyrians?

Well, he is a king and he has his enemies. He knows whether it is on the battlefield, through intrigue, or just a natural life, he won't be around forever. Definitely needs to impact the wisdom he can while he can.

And then there is the fact he brought his sons, his sons companions, and army on campaign.

He really has some shit to deal with, and wants to do it properly. :V

Actually, that's why he asked. You do not know where he is going, as you did not take the actions that would have revealed the information.

So thats why he is asking for questions.
