Alright, I'll change it to Now Hiring in Neo-Kanto, but I'm still unsure what to do with Personals (now including Giovanni too).

I would suggest for Giovanni keep training our Pokémon and go train with Master Kiyo, not reason not to. We should also chat now with Ariana and for the last one, catching Pokémon personally may be good, but a low roll on that could cause more problems that's worth, but it's either that or visit the market again and maybe we should save on funds until we have more.

For Ariana I would say take the public speaking classes that would help her with her Diplo. And for Surge have him either train his Pokémon or try the contact with your old comrades, training Pokémon is never a bad thing to do but also the contacts might get us another hero unit to recruit.

[] Plan: Rocketing our foundations.
-[] (MARTIAL) Exert Control Over Neo-Kanto's Underworld
-[] (DIPLOMACY) Now Hiring (Neo-Kanto)
-[] (STEWARDSHIP) Open up Curry Kitchens
-[] (INTRIGUE) Organize an Informant Network
-[] (LEARING)Pokemon Research (Ariana)
--[] Trade Evolutions
-[] (Personal) (Giovanni) Train Your Pokemon
-[] (Personal) (Giovanni) Train with Master Kiyo
-[] (Personal) (Giovanni) Break Bread with One of Your Subordinates (Ariana)
-[] (Personal) (Giovanni) Visit the Neo-Kanto Underground Market
-[] (Personal) (Ariana) Take Public Speaking Classes
-[] (Personal) (Surge) Get in Contact with Your Old Comrades

How does this plan look? Something I should change?

Edit: oops forgot it wasn't time yet.

Any speculation on what the other Pokemon characters are up to so far? Might be able to recruit ones that never got near Rocket in canon.

IF we're limited to Kanto theres not actually that many options. Kanto as a region wasn't the most fleshed out characterwise.

Maybe we can nab Misty or... the Cinnebar Island guy? Sabrina would be a nice grab if she's still avaliable, but we declined her earlier in favor of surge.

EDIT: After thinking about it and considering what KidfromPallet said, starting in creating our our Pokeball wouldn't only be good for capturing more Pokemon for research, its a way to undermine Silph Co in that we could start selling our own brand of Pokeball. Not also that we could start working that way in developing the MasterBall and the Snag Machine, both of them could be great boons for us.

Pokemon they have in storage, which are divided into one of the 13 known Types: Water, Fire, Grass, Bug, Ground, Rock, Ice, Flying, Fighting, Psychic, Ghost, Dark, and Dragon
Steel and Fairy I get not being known types, but why aren't Poison, Normal, and Electric know types? Especially when our Hero Units each have two Pokémon of one of those three Types?

...

WELL, that's embarrassing. It seems I completely forgot about those types when writing that. My mistake.

Poison, Normal, and Electric are known types and are counted in your current Pokemon surplus, I'll edit and fix that particular mention.

As much as I'd like to, I'm not sure if we can research Trade Evolutions this turn. It costs 15 pokemon of each type to attempt, and we currently have 0 dragon, ice, or ghost types, going by the list. I guess I'll try and make an alternative:

[X] Plan: Catch 'Em All
-[X] Discipline the Grunts
-[X] Now Hiring (Neo-Kanto)
-[X] Buy a Secret Base
-[X] Organize an Informant Network
-[X] Develop a new Pokeball (Ariana)
-[X] Train with Master Kiyo
-[X] Give one of your projects some of your personal attention (Costs 3 personal actions)
--[X] Discipline the Grunts
-[X] Resume Your Personal Projects
-[X] Accept Challengers at the Ring

Grunts because they're the backbone of our organization, and Now Hiring because we need more Units ASAP. I'm going for buying a secret base instead of soup kitchens because going by the 'catch wild pokemon' action text, we'll likely need bases in Lavender Town and Fuchsia City to get ghost and dragon types, and we might need to further invest actions in Fuschia to get into the Safari Zone under Silph's watch. For ice types, we could probably take the watercraft action and plunder Seafoam Island, but that comes after Grunts.

Organize an Informant Network is just there because it's easy, I'd like to do An Ear to the Ground but I can't really free up the necessary Hero/reroll for it. Ariana is assigned to developing a new Pokeball because that should help us with catching Pokemon, making it easier to hit the 15-of-all-types requirement for trade evo research. Plus, stealing the development of the Great Ball out from underneath Silph would be just super. Giovanni is training with Kiyo in hopes of getting a Martial boost (plus it might combo with instilling discipline to the grunts?), Ariana is doing personal research in hopes of synergy with researching the Pokeball, and Surge is accepting challengers to try and cement his position as Vermillion Gym Leader now that Brock's introduced the concept to the public.

Getting dragon types will be a pain in the ass unless you can start breeding them in-house. At least you know where to go looking for ghosts, and you know you'll definitely need at least one Haunter to discover Gengar.

[X] Plan: Dojo Mojo
-[X] (MARTIAL) Discipline the Grunts
-[X] (DIPLOMACY) Now Hiring (Neo-Kanto)
-[X] (STEWARDSHIP) Open up Curry Kitchens
-[X] (INTRIGUE) Investigate the Fighting Dojo
-[X] (LEARNING) Pokemon Research (Ariana)
--[X] Trade Evolutions
-[X] (GIOVANNI) Train Your Pokemon
-[X] (GIOVANNI) Give one of your projects some of your personal attention (Costs 3 personal actions)
--[X] Discipline the Grunts
-[X] (ARIANNA) Take Public Speaking Classes
-[X] (SURGE) Get in Contact with Your Old Comrades

Figure there should be at least one plan that investigates the Dojo.

I'll Make a Soldier out of You! | Kingster (Semi-Canon)
I'll Make A Soldier Out Of You!!!

Well, things seem going good for me, Ronnie though as the rest of the grunts and him arrived at the final floor of the hideout, as requested. He couldn't believe he was part of THE ROCKET GROUP, this was the chance to turn his life around and achieve great things, Ronnie could tell. It was by mere luck that the opportunity to join this organization dropped in his life.

Before, his expectations of the future consisted of dead-end jobs, like working at the supermarkets, that was something Ronnie wouldn't just accept, let alone join Silph CO! Those guys were totally evil, with all of their stupid rules and regulations. But no matter how much he told his friends and neighbors they never believed him. He couldn't believe they would just stand there and watch as Silph Co got their claws all around Kanto. Well screw them! It seems it falls upon him to take action. Luckily, Rocket Group was his chance to not only do that, but to shine! Just you wait, in a couple of months he would climb up the ladder and stand as one of the boss top members!

So far he has been a member for a few weeks and so far nothing noteworthy had happened, he gets it. New base and all that shit, but now the the base is officially complete he hopes that the boss starts assigning them on missions. Ronnie is wanting with the chance of probing himself and impress the higher ups. So far there's been chitchat among the base that the Bossman managed to recruit a new member, one of the top guys from the fighting rings, and was made an Administrator almost inmediately. Damm! Whoever that is, they must be the cream of the top to have such post right from the beginning. He and some of the grunts had a bet of which of the overseers was selected, his bet was on that Koga guy.

And it seems he lost that bet, cause as they entered the floor, the grunts could see that it had a radical make over, cause in the middle of the floor, catching all of their attention was... An obstacle course?! How? When?! Ronnie thought, mouth agape. This course wasn't here yesterday! He was damm sure of it! He was assigned last morning to cleaning duty here with Keith.

"Heh, enjoying the view, cadets? Took your sweet time coming here, didn't you!" A thunderous voice resounded behind of them. Turning quickly, Ronnie saw him, the famed Lighting Lieutenant, with his spiky hair and bulky figure, staring at them with a smirk and a megaphone on hand

Which he quickly put to use as he shouted at them. "GRUNTS, TEN-HUTTT!!!" Surge said, and as the shout caused everyones ears to ring, they got the memo, quickly organizing in lines and adapting a rigid posture, enraptured by the lieutenant's commanding aura.

"I expect most of you to have heard of me already." Lt. Surge started as he walked over, inspecting the grunts. Ronnie could swear that Surge's gaze was able to pierce right through his soul with the way that the soldier looked at the them. "But to those that don't know I'm Surge, Lieutenant Surge." He finished puffing his chest, making the tags hanging form his chest more visible.

"Let's get down to business!" The Lieutenant said as he finished inspecting the grunts. "To defeat Silph CO!!!"

"Yes Sir!!!" All the grunts, including Ronnie himself, responded with steel matching Surge. The lieutenant smirked a little as he saw their response.

"Ha! All I'm seeing are Rattatas." Surge said as he approached Ronnie and shouted right at his face with the megaphone. "When I hoped for Gyarados!!!" As Ronnie tried to ignore the severe ringing on his ears (That thing is fucking loud!!!), Surge addressed the rest. "You are, without a doubt, one of the saddest bunch I've ever met! But you can bet I'll make soldier out of all of you!" Surge finished shouting as an smirk appeared on his face and a look on his eyes that promised pain.

Ronnie gulped even more at seeing that terrifying expression. Oh fuck, thats isn't good. AT ALL.

"Remember cadets! You must be swift as a Pidgeotto!" As he said that the grunts could be seen running through the mud, avoiding some of the traps in the ground and the occasional Sparks that several pikachus launched at them. Most of people running the course weren't as fortunate dodging them. Robbie could be seen in the ground, sparks appearing on him as he was unfortunate enough to receive several of the electric Pokémon's' attacks.

"Will all the force of a great Machoke!" Now some of the grunts were on the pool section, were they were trying to pass through without been sweep aside by the huge waves the collection of Poliwhirl and Tentacool threw at them. Many of them unsuccessful in their attempts.

"And with all the strength of a raging Tauros!!" Some grunts were on the magnet obstacle, where they tried to resist the magnetic pull from their belts, watches and other trinkets they were carrying. None could pass through and quickly the magnets were filled with grunts that couldn't escape from the traps.

"And above all, as mysterious as the smirk of a Haunter!!!" Surge finished as he observed the many pathetic attempts of the grunts, less than a quartet able to actually pass the obstacle curse, though with several difficulties. Disappointed he used the megaphone again. "You think we are done Slowpokes? Again!!!!"

Fuck... just... just kill me already. Ronnie though tiredly as he laid facedown on the floor, his uniform dirty of mud. It had been several hours already since Surge made them go though the obstacle course and so far the results were really sad. Many of the grunts were in similar states of disarray as Ronnie, with only a few grunts being able to stand, but barely. They got a break thanks to the arrival of the boss, he hopes that whatever reason the boss has come, it's something that stops this torture.

"TEN-HUTTT!!!" Surge said as he returned from his talk with the boss. With great effort, his body screaming at him every moment, he managed to get up and stand in position, waiting for Surge's command.

"Well, what did you guys think of my training area? I've designed it all myself! Hahaha!!!" He said with a boisterous laugh, one that none of the grunts presented shared. "I must say, I didn't expect much of you guys, but some of you actually surprised me! You there in the back, come forward" Surge said, while pointing to a certain grunt.

Ronnie saw Kaede, one of the members that has been in the Team much longer than him step forward. She looked in way worse condition than him, due to all the attempts that she made to try and complete the obstacle course.

"I saw you fail several times on the mud field, get tripped on the hurdles, and don't get me started on the coal trail." Surge announced load and clear for everyone to hear. With each failure attempt that the lieutenant mentioned, Kaede looked more and more nervous. "I can certainly said you were one of the worst to do the course! ... And yet you still kept trying! That's some grit you got there cadet!!!" Surge finishes with proud smirk, while Kaede looks confused.

"See here cadets!!! She kept getting up! No matter how many times she got shocked, sweeped by the tsunamis or the numerous times she fell went trying to climb the walls! Contrary to many of you that gave up after the first few tries!" Surge shouted as regarded the rest if the grunts present. "Is this all it takes to make you quit?! How do you expect to face Silph CO with that level of resolve? We are the Rocket Group!!! It's us and only us that can bring the fight to them! We must be better! If not us then who will defeat them!!!"

Surge turned to Kaede "What's your name cadet?"

"I-It's Kaede Sir!" Kaede said as she straightens out and makes a salute.

"Hmmp, you show some promise kid, kept at it and I might put some good word with the boss." Kaede gets a wide-eyed expression at hearing that, many of the grunts presents share the same surprise as her.

Damm... I got a long way to go don't I? Ronnie thinks as he looks thought Kaede and Surge exchange.

"What you guys think you are doing? 'Cause I'm congratulating one of you that means you can slack off? Hell no!!! THAT'S NOT HOW WE DO THINGS HERE!!! Another lap cadets, all of you! Now!!!" Surge bellowed as he got his megaphone out.

All Surge got in response was a wave of groans. Today was going to be a loooong day for them.

I got this idea for several days and it wouldn't just get out of my head. Was inspired by the latest interlude and TFS parody of Mulan's song. So I decided to write it. Not much to say aside from that. Hopefully you guys like it.

Wait seriously? I thought it was 15 from every Pokemon we currently had. Well I suppose I will have to change the action then. Damm its gonna take a lot to get Pokemon of each type.

EDIT: Changed the learning action to research breeding observations, seems like a good substitute. If anyone else has another idea for the Learning action I'm all ears.

A very lovely work King, and thanks for the mental image of Surge breaking into song! I'm giving you 350 EXP for this addition.

Much Thanks! Glad you liked it! And yeah the image of Surge singing was so good it literally rented house in my mind for a week. Kind of wanted to do the whole song, but it seemed like too much for me.

@Brightflame I wanted to ask the DC for studying or trying to create our own TMs if possible and for building/designing the Snag Machine from Pokemon Colosseum, the one that allowed to steal Shadow Pokemon from their owners, but for any kind basically. Would that be allowed?

Also before I forget, if we took the action to build our own Pokeball, Ariana's two traits would activate?

TMs at this stage are still rather expiermental, as in this setting they are a part of Pokemon DNA turned into digital code that can be then be ingrained into another Pokemon's genetic code by inserting the TM into the PC where the Pokemon in question is stored. I would allow it, but I would also ask for you to select a move-type you would like to focus on developing TMs for, inwhich case you can persue it if you have 10 Pokemon of that desired type in storage, as you would essentially be harvesting DNA samples from them inorder to recreate their moves in a digital format. Developments for vary and depends on the degree of success, ranging from what moves are successfully copied to perhaps even improving on TMs themselves for the future.

As for the Snag Machine...I would consider that more to be bunched into developing new Pokeballs, as the Snag Machine converts Pokeballs into Snag balls, which would allow one to steal catch Pokemon already registered to a Trainer's ID and Pokeball. That being said, it would be easier to make the Master Ball from scratch than it is to make the Snag Machine at this current point, take that as how you will.

And for Ariana's traits and how they related to that action, 'A Woman Scorned' would activate, since you would be cutting into one of Silph's prime industries, but 'Pokemon Researcher' wouldn't, namely due the profession being more on the biological side while creating Pokeballs are more technical and more fit for some like...say Bill for example.

Got it, so for example if we wanted to make TMs from ground type moves, how high the Dc would be?

Not gonna lie, reading that it would be easier to make the Master ball right now compared to the Snag Machine it's crazy, but makes sense. Pokeball Tech shouldn't be that developed yet. It would likely be the final option of the Pokeball research tree, so to say. Even so it might be worth to go for it, cause as broken it is for the Master ball to guarantee a perfect capture rate of any pokemon, once that Pokémon is captured by another ball even the master won't work, the snag machine circumvents that flaw, (well more like restriction). Could be great if we could have both of them or even combine their proprieties in one ball? Mmm, something to think about later.
