Brothers, sisters, may I remind you that we rejected High Confession as a mad nightmare that would have drowned the world in blood, and that wasn't just because of all the weird clock stuff that I still don't get. To seek an eternal crusade is hubris both material and moral. It was the Infallible Patriarchs' hubris which ended their rule as much as it was the corruption of Sword-Altar and the Great Synod. I do not desire to see the same befall us, nor indeed Vaspukaran itself.

I see it largely as a matter of emphasis and focus, kind of like the vote about whether we wanted to focus on the revolution's policies or the revolution's enemies - here Iconoconfessoclasm (trademark pending) focuses on finding enemies abroad and actively opposing problems, while Amalism focuses on finding points of alliance and syncretic unity (like Amalism do).
I don't think either is going to ignore a war of conscience against oppression out of hand in the way old pugilist isolationism might. I also don't think, for all I oppose it, that Iconoconfessoclasm is going to blindly dive directly into spiral-wide armed eternal revolution right away.

Ayan Admirals are given a lot of local leeway partly because it would be insane for them not to have it, the country is everywhere at once. Many places have a specific section in their history now where 'and then the Mare came'. But the Mare has a huge manpower base and is larger than Britain is, it can absolutely replace losses and even fleets that Britain could not. This is the trouble with the 'Ottoman' parts of Ottoman Britain - it has the capability to integrate new territories and draw new resources Britain absolutely does not, even with its sepoys.
Glorious, though it does make me realize that perhaps calling a place the "Meriam main" where you have a giant seapower called the Mare was ill-done.

The ease at which such an issue is rectified however must have left any such comfort quite cold indeed.
