Kingdom of God: A Quest of Holy Revolution

[X] The Binding Ring of Marriage. On the inviolability which soils the sanctity of marriage, and the prison it may build.
[X] The Double-Toil of the Back-Broke Bima. On the special demands of working women, those who are slaves within the home.
[X] With Candor. Vashti should move to build a much larger movement for the peasantry beyond the Ischak, and use her stature to transcend her local origins.
[X] Disavowal. Vashti is not a prophet, for the age of prophecy has ended, and the time of personalism must be put to the side in favour of the order of ordinary souls [Available due to Light and Darkness doctrine + Pugilist alignment].
[X] Elevation. Vashti is a prophet only insofar as she has been elevated by the people of the Ischak, and as such she is granted greater access to the Spiral of Truth by her elevation! [Available as a syncretic option of Transmigration + Accelerant + Pugilist origin].

One possible resolution to the question of prophets in elevation is that the prophets already exist and their election is proof of their prophecy. A kind of pre destined position. Of a certain elect.
I think the danger of Elevation leading to some sort of determinism is overblown. Cetashwayo said that it was a possible resolution, so it's by no means the only one and honestly, I doubt it's a likely one at all. Can you really see Pugilists going in a direction that establishes Fate so strongly, when one of the most central tenet of Pugilism is the importance of the choice of fighting Evil? There is a reason one of the Five Evil is despair: a Pugilist is someone who refuses to bow down to the 'inevitability' of their subjugation, and chooses to deck their oppresser in the face instead.

Vaspukaran is a place of emerging mass politics and the best way to capture the spirit of this new era of politics is with the doctrine of Elevation and the candor of our Prophet Vashti. Only by striking a blow for justice in the heart of evil were we able to cover the mysteries that led to this revelation. Now anything is possible and the soul yearns for the future and progress. This is how we know our work is true and a legitimate expression of the Pugilist movement.

Not even the likes of Old Strong Belman can live his life carrying another on his back at all times, how can we ask that of anyone then?

Elevation is a starting, not an ending point for political discussion. It is a fundamental principle which can inform more detailed philosophy, as are the others. Incarnation and Ravhood are not inimicable to democracy- incarnation could craft resurrecting spirits as a form of institution-worship of respected public offices. Ravhood is rooted in the radical tradition that a priest, and a wise soul, may come from anywhere. Prophecy is in and of itself a revolutionary statement that strikes at the heart of the system. Disavowal asserts the end of an age of prophecy because interpretation is now in the hands of the majority, affirming and expanding the tradition of the Second Patriarchate, where the majority is the majority of wise priests, and making it broader.

They are not equally radical or radical in the same way but neither are any really moderate.

Historically accurate.
This is what I love about quests. Before today I did not know that the French Revolution invented divorce.
And of course Napoleon watered it down and then it was abolished after the war.

And if you love this cool revolutionary facts you might enjoy some self study on which wacky revolution invented no-fault divorce 😎

Yeah, those are both pretty damn cool. Ravhood is a pretty big strike against Priesthood (which must go!) and I do like the meritocratic tone. And Disavowal - while tristefully mundane - is another strike against all those pointless divisions of society, not to mention a powerful attack against the legitimacy of the Patriarchs.
And Elevation is, of course, based. And fun.

can you run that one by me chief
We must fight for the Priesthood of all Believers! Orthodoxy has made service to God a separate position from the lowly Mouflon, but all - not just a chosen few! - can and must honor and exalt God. This division of the flock is an affront to God, who does not distinguish so between His children. It also give the monopoly of interpretation of strictures (and thus Law) to a minority.
We must destroy that idol.

That's a pretty old idea in Pugilism, too. Gurus (like Opernani Myriam) are sages who are recognized and praised for their understanding of scripture, even though they are not legally priests (Myriam in particular was a witch, and thus could never be a priest).

Someone pointed out that the Amalgastene Creed's ancient schism is between Amalists and Gastites

I hate it here :V

Of the options available to us, Incarnation is actually the worst. I realize that people are taken with the idea of getting together with the Yuhwaist witches, but this continual reliance on the authority of the dead does nothing but strangle the living. It sets us up for stagnation and oppression. Why should a person's leadership be sanctified by worship of a corpse? Are we so unable to act in accordance with principles that we must instead live the lives of those whose time has passed? Incarnation does nothing but play into Santsarran's self-strengthening propaganda and hand him a decisive card to play in the coming struggle over power and from whom it should be derived.

Disavowal is the ideal choice for building a structure of power founded on mass representation, but literally anything but Incarnation would better serve the needs of the people. Don't vote for the option that'll keep us stuck in the past forever.

That's an interesting point, switching to Ravhood
