New Good Seed and Omake Rule Updates
Good Seed and Omake Spreadsheet Rules:

Firstly, if you have questions about Good Seeds and the like please read here. If that doesn't answer your question please ping me in thread, or on Discord.

If you write a new Good Seed, or write an omake, please update the spreadsheet if you have access.

If you do not have access, please ping a collaborator (Swordomatic, Alectai, Quest, TehChron, Insane-Not-Crazy, Humbaba, ReaderOfFate, Kaboomatic, no., BungieONI) letting them know what you want and they will update the spreadsheet here. To gain access, you will need a gmail account of some kind. Throwaway emails are fine (I'm using one for the spreadsheet), but to gain access it's as simple as sending me either your email via PM, via DM in Discord, or just in Discord's #spreadsheet-requests channel.

This is mandatory. If a Good Seed does not record their omake by pinging collabs (or just requesting access and editing things themselves - this is the preferred option), I won't give out awards. If a new Good Seed is not recorded here, they won't advance. By doing this it makes the whole thing manageable for me - it's gotten pretty unwieldy!

Omake Writer Instructions:

There are four fields you need to fill out.

Omake Link, which is just a link to your first omake for the turn. This makes it easier for me to read them as I do the update - without this it's tough to know off the bat which omake were written this turn, and to properly

Requested Bonus, which is your requested bonus for your omake. You can leave it up to me if you like. You can see more info in the Good Seed infopost here.

Cultivation Aims. For those following unorthodox paths - higher than 9th Heavenstage or later than 7th Dao Pillar paths. Please put in what you are aiming for before you break through. I have left it as 'default'. If you do not edit it, I'll go with that.

Turn Notes - Do you want to do something specific? Enter a Secret Realm? Help the Clan out in some way? If you have something specific you want to accomplish on this turn, put it in turn notes so I can adjust your Fate around it.

All other fields are for QM use to record character information to properly run the flow of the game.

Earl's Will is pretty good, but at the moment we need power more than anything else. Fundamentally the Earl's Will is mostly for buffing our council, it seems, and advising legates and Manuel on strategic breakthroughs and diplomacy and other such things. This is pretty good, but ultimately with warfare and the Trials the buck needs to stop somewhere. All the advice in the world won't keep the Heavenly Key in Bhrigu's hand from cutting Manuel in half.

The Gravebronze Panoply will, at least, give Kleisthenes some staying power, since it appears to work as a damage reduction, albeit at cost in Qi. But that's still better than actually taking damage.

I like both plans of yours. Specially since they cost us very little political capital.

And I hope that by doing nothing and taking the path only after the cannibal nuke the region that make easier, political speaking to get those lands.

We would probably need to help take it back to get anything but if it's possible we should probably point out how much Old Cannibal hates us and how leaving the desert to build there would allow him to target us before the hundred year peace let's him return to the desert.

For me? I figure that having Old Cannibal take the blacksmiths might be a good thing.

I don't think we can repair our rep with the SPS. Like, no only can we not repair it fast enough to make any use of it afterwards, I literally don't think we can repair it. We've done basically everything right, then heaven drops some trinkets and suddenly they're looking at us all side-eyed and trying to come up with reasons to hate on us. Fine. Our rep with them now is as good as it's ever going to be again, and the only question is where and when to spend it.

So we have Old Cannibal, who's a threat who's absolutely going to come after us pretty soon. We have SPS, who's a threat who's absolutely going to be coming after us much later, but who, for right now, needs to keep the passes open, and doesn't have enough justification to turn on us. We have the Sorrowful Blacksmiths, who hate us and who we hate, and who we'd like to seize the territory of.

If we just le things happen, while focusing on our own problems (and boy, do we have problems), then Old Cannibal comes in and eats the Sorrowful Blacksmiths, including those individuals of the Blood of Bronze who are necessary for keeping the pass actually working. SPS must respond to that. They have no choice. They can't afford to lose the stones. They seriously intensify their war with Old Cannibal, who's now sitting on a chunk of land that doesn't have huge numbers of people on it. That war probably isn't super-conclusive for a turn or so, which means that we can address the situation as it stands once we're out of the trials. In the meantime, the Righteous sects bleed a bit (because no stones) for something that totally isn't our fault. We were busy! It was the Trials! everyone knows about the Trials.

It's not like Old Cannibal is going to be able to harvest in a few decades the ancient legacies that the Blacksmiths have been ineffectually sitting on for thousands of years.

I'd... Like to at least try to keep peace with the SPS? I mean, everyone else seems to have just, assumed nothing will change them suddenly hating us without really trying? The Favoured will probably always dislike us yeah, but that doesn't mean we should completely give up on diplomacy with everyone else.

We are keeping the peace. We're just looking at the cost benefit analysis of any further attempts to get into their good favors. Right now we gain more by letting the SPS carry the burden of responding to old Cannibal than any goodwill from giving them advance warning. A shaky righteous path is good for us rather than one on an unmitigated ascent

Mmmrg... I can see that point of view. It's just... In my opinion, that kind of pure pragmatism just makes life worse for literally everyone in the long run.

I mean.

It costs them literally nothing to keep relations warm, and gains them a lot. Since the balance of power is shifting seemingly irreversibly in their direction in the long run anyway, why would they alienate what has been up until now amicable neighbors when we're making significant contributions to their desperate war effort.

The fact that they're suddenly getting leery because a bunch of manna descended from heaven that are inclined to hate us is a very bad sign, because it suggests hardliners just won a political struggle over the entente faction, and the sheer speed at which this occurred was... Troubling.

Anyway, that aside, I'll admit my instincts are pointing towards the Blood Oak Sect as something we want to get feelers on, the fact there relationships were poor but we don't understand what it was, just that it largely involved Nascents is... Tickling my paranoia bone something fierce.

Honestly we are shameless enough to hug the Holy thigh if they just were accommodating enough.

But I do agree about Magic Oak. They're notedly reclusive and distant enough that out diplomacy is largely untainted by wider region wide concerns apart from the Blood Mist

The fact that the relations with the SPS and friends went cold even after we managed to pull off three wins, one of which was major, for them and them alone and the fact we've been backing them up for centuries now bodes ill. The favored want us dead, and they are focusing on us more than even the Blood path. The Favored and the old Guard who care more about us being demonic than being effective seem to have locked the SPS politics up. Frankly given the Righteous Path's predilections of maneuvering about before the current enemy's blood has even fallen to Earth, they are likely already gearing up for attacks on us, just because. We can't afford that. We're currently nowhere near the power of the other major factions, and we're not going to be any time soon as we lack the means to support a late nascent. WE need time, keeping all three other powers on the off foot while we build up and with some lcuk get the mountains under us as well, which would make us a peer fourth power.

I'll commit to a Turn 16 Double Nascent Diplo push with Casia and Kleisthenes if that helps alleviate your concerns

I will post this here too just be sure I think the ancestor of Jingshen. the guy that went blood path AND 'normal' qi path is this dude. 'They mistrust outsiders, as apparently a thief of the Blood Acorns four thousand years ago rose into Nascent Soul by slaughtering their disciples, causing massive damage to the Sect.' from the infodump of the tree clan.

I'm a bit worried it'll be too late by then, after all, they're isolationist and if they have a grudge with Jingshen, and don't know there's a change in management, and then come over during the Trials and get wrecked by the Moderators.

Well, doesn't that look like we just murdered them?

On the one hand, yes

On the other hand, those potential invaders are dead and that would give us room to go for a diplomatic solution without worrying about an immediate attack

I think this is being overly pessimistic. It's year 260 now. They may be isolationist, but I seriously doubt they're so isolationist that they will have literally no-one come from or to our territory in 40 years. We know they have contact with the outside world because our report on them was written from an in universe source who went and stayed with them.

The Golden Devils beating the Jingshen is big enough news that they will almost certainly hear about it.

As to them coming over in the trials and getting murdered? I'm pretty sure any sect powerful enough to be relevant to us knows enough about them to know of the risks of coming during the trials. Otherwise we'd have had a lot more people trying to invade us during the trials themselves over the years.

Not to say we'd automatically have good relations of course, just that this particular scenario seems implausible.

[X] Plan for Closing Wings
-[X] Don't
--[X] "The presence and influence of these 'Favored' - as the Parakoimomenos has termed them - amongst the Righteous Powers is concerning, as is the cessation of the rather continuous trend of requesting our support out on the Plains in spite of the severity of the situation and growth of the Poison Maze. It is reasonable to conclude that the Blood Defiance Pact are trying to determine if they can rely on these Heaven-Empowered Juniors of theirs to make up the difference our Legions previously covered. I say...let them experiment. I'm sure that Elder Glorious Strike will appreciate the reminder of just to whom they owe their current successes to."
-[X] Destasia's Amazing Idea That Will Pay Off Bigtime
--[X] "Rather than a one-time strike at an Early Nascent Soul, like that miserable trap at Haoshen. Or another Array that was in turn subverted. We are best served enabling that Light Qi the agency by which to strike down those far more wicked than we. A Nascent-Grade beast is no mean deterrent, and it provides a unique ability to hold territory that otherwise would require the attention of one of our Clans vanishingly rare Nascent Souls in truth. Whether we do as Destasia requested and place it with one of our borders with the mountains powers, or we use it to hold some new and vital location matters not. This is an invaluable opportunity we cannot afford to see wasted as the Region seeks to entrap us within those Mountain Powers."
-[X] Increasing Wealth - More trade, more mines, more growth. Aim to find more Spirit Stones, tax more from traders, whatever works to increase your Clan Wealth. This earns you one purchase.
--[X] "If the Plains have no stomach for our Mercenary Work, then the Clan shall instead prepare for the Centennial Trials through the accumulation of wealth. There are legacies to unlock, tools to repair, weapons to craft, all to empower our Juniors to face these upcoming Trials. The Heaven's Shadow quivers, and I fear that the test we shall face shall be even more brutal than that which we faced 200 years prior. Ware, my Elders."
-[X] Manuel - Meditate on Heaven's Shadow - Try to understand the Shadow through the Key it has granted you. Gain Two Shadow Key Points.
--[X] "I shall spend such time until Weeping Anvil calls for me meditating on the Dao, and the newest tool with which we have to contest the Great Era that has come upon us. Though it possesses energy with which to access our long lost legacies, I can sense that there are deeper secrets that lie within. The sooner I can discern those secrets, the sooner that they can in turn become our strength for the trials ahead."
-[X] Kleisthenes - Assemble the Droplet of Rust and Ruin
--[X] "Elder Weeping Anvil of the Sorrowful Blacksmiths does not trust us. Good. As he is our enemy, it is only right that he fears our Golden Devil Clan. He shall busy himself with the hunting down of his wayward apprentice, unaware of the threats bearing down on him from the South. But we cannot allow Old Cannibal's subordinates to consume a Mid Nascent Soul, and risk either empowering the Corpse Devouring Fairy or Old Fish to Late Nascent Soul. Let alone the possibility of empowering either of the Devilish Twin Concubines to Mid Nascent soul either. When Old Cannibal comes for the Sorrowful Blacksmiths, he shall find nothing but bone to chew on, for we shall deny him both Bloodhammer and his former Master as resources to feed his Abyssal Demon Invasion. This is a necessity if we wish to maintain the tenuous balance upon which all hinges in this Great Era, for Old Cannibal is the enemy of many...But I fear that this move to seal the Colossus Footstep Path is as much about harming the Righteous Path as it is isolating us from the outside world."
-[X] The Yuan Spies (1 Purchase)
--[X] "Which brings me to my final and only authorized purchase for this meeting - The Yuan are in desperate straits. A neutral power, with their Patriarch heavily wounded in the suppression of a new Blood Path Nascent Soul. Bordering the stolen lands of the Sorrowful Blacksmiths, the moment Old Cannibal strikes that region the Yuan Clan shall be vulnerable to any Demonic Nascent Souls which seek to end their life and introduce even greater instability to the region. We need allies, or at least a means by which we can rely on further assistance as the Great Era further escalates. The Yuan are in turn a vanishing resource, and an opportunity for all parties to salivate over. Making the Yuan Secret Realm an exclusively Righteous Path resource is an intolerable risk, given the growth that those Favored are displaying. Our Juniors need access to its bounties merely to keep up against all our many foes. We do not know what our move to prevent the Yuan Patriarch from being devoured by Demonic or Righteous shall look like, but in order to make any choice we must first know what choices there are to make in the first place!

[X] Plan for Closing Wings

Technique palace next turn right?

To bad Manuel doesn't get money if he kills Nascents with his spear. Then we would have tons of money next turn
