Hogwarts Sect of Witchcraft and Wizardry

Floatvine seems best for being covert in the mundane world and mushroom seems best for making an Alice in wonderland / Tiny people village in our garden.

This feels like a good compromise between training electives and socials so I will vote for it unless I see better latter on

-[X][Meridians] Adjust
--[X] 1. The Rainbow Brush

[X][Social] The central hub of immortal activity in London is Diagon Alley. Now that you're much more knowledgeable about the world of Qi, you'd like a second look at the place. Perhaps put a number to your actual wealth and do some window shopping.

[X][Social] You receive a letter inviting you to "Trade pointers" with "Young Mistress" Daphne Greengrass. Also in the envelope is a single-use transport talisman you're starting to become quite familiar with.

[X][Social] The address you got from Harry really isn't that far from you. If you wanted, you could incorporate a dozen or so miles into your morning run with little issue and swing by.

[X][Social] You've decided to set apart a day to be the model daughter. Starting with breakfast a-la-Qi, followed by a trip to the art exhibition at the local gallery, a picnic lunch, then a free afternoon to do whatever he'd like. In short, spend time with dad.

[X] Plan Max All the Electives
-[X][Training] Ancient Runes x3
--[X] 2 tokens
-[X][Training] Care of Magical Creatures
-[X][Meridians] Adjust
--[X] 1. The Rainbow Brush
--[X] 2. Whip Shear Technique

This should take both skills to their current cap of Beginner 2, which means three Runes milestones and the final CoMC milestone we can get right now. DC for Herbology, Astronomy, Divination and Arithmancy goes from 15 to 12, allowing us to max the latter two next month, and the former two in September (Herbology might fall short).

Every subject can be trained whenever we want, but if we miss this train for the Electives, we'll have to wait 12/14 turns, even just to see what they are and do.

As for the meridians, they are adjusted to slot in our best charm (Brush) and arguably our best technique (Whip Shear).

[X][Social] You receive a letter inviting you to "Trade pointers" with "Young Mistress" Daphne Greengrass. Also in the envelope is a single-use transport talisman you're starting to become quite familiar with.
-I want to know what's going on with our mother. Also see how the "other half" lives. ^^

-Beside being very much in character, first as a daughter but also as an artist, I find this very sweet as well as sensible.

[X][Social] Although the time you can spend at Hogwarts is precious, so is the opportunity to actually get to know some of the elders. At worst, they'll just tell you to leave them alone. See what happens when you try to take your lunch at the head table.
-[X] Albus Dumbledore
-He was extremely nice and helpful in the interactions we've had with him, and the fact he even bothered to interact with us is astounding. He told us to call him Albus!

-It feels both too useful and too adventurous to pass up.

The action with Harry is tempting, too, but we've spent an action on him for 3 turns in a row, now, that I feel we can skip a month and just check on him in August.

I liked the Mushrooms the most. I think they would be fun to have around.

And the socials... Oof, i want to do all of them dammit. Why are there so many good options?

For now, i think i'll go with:

[X][Social] You receive a letter inviting you to "Trade pointers" with "Young Mistress" Daphne Greengrass. Also in the envelope is a single-use transport talisman you're starting to become quite familiar with.

[X][Social] Hermione has invited you and Dad to meet her own parents, to tell the adults comforting stories about your time at Hogwarts and set their minds at ease.

[X][Social] You've decided to set apart a day to be the model daughter. Starting with breakfast a-la-Qi, followed by a trip to the art exhibition at the local gallery, a picnic lunch, then a free afternoon to do whatever he'd like. In short, spend time with dad.

[X][Social] You've got Dad to agree to a weekend trip to the countryside for you, visiting Mandy's clan and reservation.

So I'm not entirely sure what ascension implies within the setting. Is the hard cap within the setting cultivation level of Dumbledore (Nascent soul?)? If so does that mean seventh year students who ascend are equivalent in cultivation to Dumbledore? Also where are these ascended folks going? Are they able to interact with immortals, or are they beyond them? I know most of this is probably outside of what Rei would know, but we should probably gather some info in character.

Because if we want to trade something for socials, it should be 1 milestone for CoMC, not 3 for Runes. Feel free to yoink this plan if you really really dislike having only the base 3 social actions and really really want 5. Otherwise, you're better off with the plans with 5 training actions in them.

EDIT: If Athelas Mossball wins I'm voting for this, as in Anglosaxon Athelas means 'noble'.

[X] [Social] You visit Kew Gardens with your dad. Your mum loved the Japanese garden there, and your dad likes to visit regularly. Additionally you suspect that there may be herbology research taking place there under the noses of the muggles. Your love of Sherlock Holmes stories compels you to investigate this further.

I like runes over divination so made my own math and ancient runes plan. Knowing ancient runes ahead of the game seems useful if we're getting ready to dive into a chit vault (but just generally helpful in a world of cultivation and lost secrets). Narratively divination/future sight is often confusing and causes more problems than it prevents IMO.

Edited in some names. Mushrooms have a ton of wacky names.
Edit2: added in awesome write in.

As expected, you'll have to reach the next stage of cultivation before the start of year three. The equivalent to the aptly named realms seems to be a gone however, the naming scheme for the steps along the way as confusing as ever. You'll need to merge and harmonize your three dantians, identify primal aspect meridian channels and internalize yin-yang. Well... at least you recognize most of the words this time
This sounds kinda like there's three breakthroughs in the Qi Condensation Stage.

On a related note, I'm really enjoying how all the mechanical stuff has a very clear narrative underpinning (and vice versa). Increasing our cultivation isn't just a case of number goes up and then breakthrough, like it is in a lot of stories, but rather each stage has different characteristics and things you have to master. Same with the skills - it's not just 'now I can stab harder' but instead an exploration of Qi and learning.

My interest in this quest started with 'huh, Harry Potter/Xianxia fusion - that sounds hilarious' and I started voting upon seeing the interconnected mechanics which looked interesting. But I've stayed because this is a wonderfully written Xianxia story where the growth and learning is the key focus (instead of a way to justify face slapping harder).

In a lot of ways this feels like a reconstruction of the Xianxia genre using Harry Potter as a setting. And now that we've finished first year, I just want to say: thank you @Karf for creating a wonderful story.

Let's assume the Everything but Runes plan wins and that even at 59% odds, both Arithmancy and Divination get to the max. What's the August follow up?

Maybe a token and non-token action on CoMC, a token action on meridians, then both free actions into socials?
It partly depends on how many socials we end up getting this month.
Could put the second token action on Runes instead.

[X][Plan] Max All the Electives

I have been persuaded by @Epic Bygones argument that it's worth us actually knowing what the Electives actually do. Especially, if we're grabbing Astronomy and Herbology in September anyway.

[X][Familiar] Azure Floatvine

Whilst narratively I love the Floatvine, I didn't mind the Mossball either and it's aspects of healing sound cool so I'm approval voting that as well.

I'm keen to progress the Greengrass mystery and this sounds like the best way.

[X][Social] The address you got from Harry really isn't that far from you. If you wanted, you could incorporate a dozen or so miles into your morning run with little issue and swing by.

Casually stopping by Vernon and Petunia's on our morning run sounds hilarious and I'm always down for more Harry interaction - I like the pseudo friendly rivalry dynamic we have going.

Actually being able to put a number on our wealth sounds very important (money is the best superpower after all) and might help progress the Greengrass mystery. Besides, Diagon Alley shopping trips are a staple of the Harry Potter books (and fanfic)

There's 4 electives and meridians right?
Just hitting 150 gives us an idea of (some) mechanical effects and flavor as well doesn't it?

Edit: Aka maxing would be nice but for exploration any idea is better than a complete blank.

And what about if we don't reach the max in either because of a subpar turn and the not stellar 59% odds?
an action in each, with or without a token depending on the exact results, plus 2, maybe 3 actions in CoMC. (I'll note that 3 total actions in Divination and Arithmancy also has better odds then 2 with 3 milestones in Runes)

Shouldn't the (probably) Athelas Mossball also affect the odds? Our little buddy gives us fairly decent rewards, even if he is technically not the best immediately.
