Rebirth Of Man: Unification Of Terra

[X] Grand - from a hidden place a new force upon the world emerges from seclusion, ancient and mighty technologies are their's and under their aegis billions live and fight as with all such forces. Their steel clad and las armed legions march forth to take the homeworld as their own. (Controls thousands of pops, controls at least 10 cities and has reasonably high city and pop mods. Army is one of the strongest in the world, has up to 6 heroes, has immense technology and relics from the Dark Age. Can NOT engage in diplomacy except from a position of strength and will refuse to bend the knee unless completely beaten.)
[X] Patron - another force is behind this power's arise to notability. Perhaps its benevolent or malign. Or it could be a secret plundered from its proper owner by scavengers of the dunes, it could be all and none of these things. (Choose from a preset list of possible Patrons. Will gain items that will give power equal to Grand nations, but have MASSIVE CURSES AND MALUSES with the bonuses)

(Will have a second vote on what kind of tech you salvaged from the Dark Age, higher level nations will have more options)

Grand is the only option to face emps without it we will be decimated very quickly, but remembering that if we can't beat emps we can always become very expensive to conquer this will force him to do what he did with mechanicus, that it will give us a lot more freedom to affect the crusade in the future, of course the best option is to win the emps but this is very difficult so I want to remember that if we don't achieve it we can make this deal

I am closing the vote as its pretty well chosen at this point and I doubt I will get another 20 voters within a reasonable timeframe to change the current result.

[X] Medium - a nation of several cities that sees the world and knows the inevitable future. One that bares only a few echos of the past in their deepest vauts. Unable to bend the face of the world upon their own will, but perhaps able to shift the direction of their future lord and master. (Start with a handful of pops based on a roll, start with 2 cities and low city and pop modifers. Diplomacy is possible with other equal nations and can engage in surrender negotiations with Grand nations at quest start)

[X] Weak - a tribe of unknown providence, of unknown secrets hunts and lives in the rad wastes lacking the scope of the world's greats, they would never be a force upon the world stage without sacrifice beyond comprehension. (Start with 2 pops, no income, no technology, no cities, no bonuses to anything. Also be completely unknown and no one cares about you unless you do something stupid.)

Prologue to Unification: Nation Creation part 2
In the depths of history a Grand nation lived and fought, on the borders of the rad wastes shrouded from sight of the world. Either through means of technological mastery, or perhaps through the mastery of the unreal, it has remained hidden from the records of the shattered world until now.

Legions of men and women march alongside battalions of tanks as they move forth to engage in war to claim Terra as their own. Across the skies aircraft scream forth as they race forward heralding the arrival of the new force upon the world stage.

Technology drawn from the vaults of Humanity's grand past are unleashed upon the world and the other Grand Nations see and desire the secrets of this new force deeply.

Choose (1) Technology

[] Phased energy fields - you retain full access to the glory of the past shields that once existed upon the ships of the line. Your void shields, power fields and anything derived from these principles are far beyond any other upon the world. Your shields are the size of a fist and can tank the full might of a small nuke, your weapons and armor disintegrate matter at the lowest level at the merest of touches.
Pros: High end energy weapons, can invest in personal shields for troops
Cons: Very restrictive tech option, will not be able to integrate salvaged tech easily if at all
Capstone: Zenith Pylon - grants control of all energy fields on the front, can be upgraded in size and scope over time

[] Terraforming - you retain full access to the glory of the past in shaping the ground and sky of the world at large. You might not be able to claim the mastery of genetics that others do, but your technology can raise mountains from the bed of oceans, drew forth water from the air no matter how dry. Or you can trap your foes in pits that extend all the way to the mantle of the wold.
Pros: Gives a wide array of potent bonuses to both combat and infrastructure
Cons: Lacks any direct combat value, defensive option
Capstone: Fundamental Sculpting - can terraform things such as gravity, pressure, density and more. Can not target space

[] Experimental Soul Technology - you have in your possession the full history and design patterns of the strange weapons that burn away all that they touch. Beyond even the dreaded Adrathic weapons, you possess the tools to unmake a person on the very fundamental level. Derived from the secrets of the Mechanavores of the Iron War, your weapons are the greatest threat upon the field. Only a truly potent soul can survive one hit from the weakest, only the greatest could survive more than five hits.
Pros: All weapons and armies are given the Unmaker Trait, near complete Theory knowledge retained can do improvement research on Unmaker technology from start
Cons: All armies have increased upkeep and upgrade cost
Capstone: Soul Modulation - can purposely shift a soul from psyker to blank to psyker or to normal without harm to the subject. Can also be used to eradicate a soul no matter its power from existence beyond the reach of ANY resurrection.

[] Artificial Intelligence - you hold in your possession the ability to craft and produce armies of sentient and loyal machine minds to do your fighting for you. Pale recreations of the past they might be, you alone posses the ability to improve their designs.
Pros: can make cheap unending legions of basic armies, can build Hero tier generals and champions
Cons: Everyone that remembers the past will hate you, and its extremely costly to make good AI
Capstone: The Rebuilt - a Man of Iron salvaged from the Fall so long ago is rebuilt and ready to serve once more. Gain a Hero that has near unmatched bonuses to everything

[] Tall
[] Wide

This has little impact, as both will have roughly the same income and pops. There would be some slight variances but its more a matter of personal preference on your part for this choice.

It always bugged me what a shithole Terra is in 40k. Let's renew the Earth! Restitutor Orbis.

Great idea, sad that there can't be two options to choose. But Not-Yet-Emperror and other psykers will be massive pain in ass that can literally kill this nation or this quest, so obliteration is a good way of life, imho.

I will note that the AI option is not going to be what people might think it is. You lack the tech to build true AI at all and will instead be building more what you would find in Mass Effect or just really good nested decision trees with a bit of fudging baked into them. The Capstone for it is the only true AI you would have onside.

A Commander builds his first Metal Extraxtor?

The Capstone for it is the only true AI you would have onside.
Can Man of Iron be our faction leader/Hero? One that was repaired/found and his going to reelevate humans to heights they are supposed to be at and so he will lead them showing right way?

I will say that predicating your strategy on the Capstone is only going to see you be disappointed. The Capstone is going to be at minimum 10s of turns away even if you do fund it to the highest possible level and don't care if all the other Grand Nations see you doing it.

Realize that a Capstone is quite literally powerful enough to Replace Emps on the galactic scale. A way to think of them is to envision Emps as having 100 points of skill/power spread across 10 or so threads resulting in 10 points in each thread.

A Capstone on the other hand, sinks those 100 points into 1 thread. In other words a Capstone in its area of effect is worth roughly 10 Emps, but worth 0 outside of its effectiveness.
