Honestly this is kinda the reason we're doing it right? Well more like a favor but mc is still protecting his club/schools honor.

It's really only this or to Protect. But man, I can't help but enjoy someone who gets better just for the sake of getting better. Tis a rare breed in my experience.

The school needed a helping hand, and we took the task. That we excelled at it beyond everyone's expectations is a happy coincidence, but there wasn't some Grand Plan in the making.

Once we win the Tournament we'll get back to our school life and pick our next hobby to pursue*. Maybe incorporate our new skills to teach new talents like Hose does.

*OOC it's because we neglected our regular studying in favor of ramping up our fighting capabilities, so I expect the pendulum to swing the other way.

Hayato feeling like he just lives in the moment, taking things as they come. He doesn't seem to have any concrete goals right now, so I feel like this is the best fit.

I also like never-stop-improving, but that sounds more like discipline than "holy shit I'm having so much fun right now," which is my preferred interpretation.

If we were the MC instead of the bro, I would never vote for this because someone ultra serious with no goal sounds like a path to depression.

However, considering how our character has acted till now, this is more like someone who focuses on their everyday life and do interesting things if there's an opportunity.

It's not that we (or, at least, I) consider it a "trap answer" so much as I think "protect" fits Hayato better than "outdo everyone."

Give me a PC who it'd be in-character to aspire to greatness, and I'll aim for the top; it just doesn't feel like it fits Hayato best out of the answers offered here.
