[x] "I… I don't know. I'm just a manakete, all manakete are like this."

I want to see people shocked by stuff we just casually drop into conversation.

[X] "I… I don't know. I'm just a manakete, all manakete are like this."

If only we could have read a scroll or something about our own kind to be able to explain better. Surely such a convenient text would have been read by now if we had it.

The reason I personally don't want Ryza to openly declare herself as a manakete yet is because right now her whole character screams "I'm different than you." Both in power, and anatomy.

She is seen as just a scared child with power she doesn't know how to use, which she is. I want her to become more than that before revealing the whole manakete thing.

Liking this + the write-in.

All things in time. That time is not yet.

-[X] "Wait, I think I Father left me a scroll about this, maybe that would help?" Show Artemis The Dragon Within: How to get along with yours.

Just an idea, though whether Artemis would be able to read it is another thing entirely. This whole thing does provide a reason to read it later in any case, as I think Rysa wouldd be more interested in the new people around her than the books initially.

I just don't get why everyone wants to reveal that we're a dragon/manakete now. If there was no point to hiding it then why even hide it to begin with?

"It never came up." is a bad excuse because the current situation doesn't clearly address it specifically.

Hell, we don't actually know if other manaketes can do what we can't because we haven't seen other manaketes fight before. (Unless we have and I just missed something in Ryza's backstory.)

Our parents are different for obvious reasons because they are who Ryza likely bases how she fights from what she saw from them.
We haven't been hiding it. Our travelling companions misinterpreted what we were, because it's been so long since the dragon civilization fell that 'artificial mage' was a more plausible explanation than 'possibly the last surviving manakete', and since Ryza doesn't yet realize that her species appears to be effectively extinct, she hasn't thought to clarify matters.

Oh. Well okay then. By the way, what is the difference between Dragon and Manakete anyway? I know manaketes use dragonstones and have a human form, but both are essentially the same yeah?

Essentially, yeah. It's a common thing in Fire Emblem, that Dragons kinda go feral and mindless with sufficient age. Manaketes are dragons who sealed away all the bits that make them Dragons in order to prevent the 'going feral' thing. They still live the same lifespan as they would have if they'd remained a Dragon, but their bodies are generally only as strong as a normal human unless they use their Dragonstone to tap into all that sealed power.
