Hogwarts Sect of Witchcraft and Wizardry

I'd pick the Hermione action, personally. Maybe we'll get something to help us with the qi deprivation?
Do you mean the malus caused by the low roll for the visit home? Or the default malus for the 2 months away from Hogwarts?

Anyway, I'd probably go for this.

Edit after the moratorium:

[X] Plan Gain 3 Points
-[X][Training] Physical cultivation x4
-[X][Social] You're still rattled from how much lesser the muggle world was. Check in on Hermione and the other muggleborns to see whether they've had similar experiences.
-[X][Social] You're invited for tea with Lavender Brown - she says it'll be a small gathering, but that it should be fun.
-[X][Social] Terry has heard that you know the secret to accessing the kitchen. He's promised you cookies if you take him and another of his fellow chefs to it, with implications of more bounties if you help them out further.
--[X][Points] 3 points

A safer action distribution so as to avoid getting screwed by the dice. Again.

The 3 point boon is so good, but we'll be at 0 after this turn. This will give us the best chance at getting 3 more for next month. Overall progress (worth 2) has been hard to get, but with the Physical threshold at 12 and the rerolling of 11+ result dice, I'm sure we can do it.

We still haven't been to the kitchen, and the promise of cooking and more bounties on top is enticing, hence the use of points for it.

To be honest, I'm hesitant to spend all our remaining points. We should try to save one or two for the House Cup.

Edit: Finally finished the update and oof. In hindsight, we probably should've picked an offensive potion too instead of doubling down on defense.

Let's get the Brave Snowflake before the next game.

Current point count:
Gryffindor 74
Slytherin 60
Ravenclaw 54 (+3 from Rei's currently unspent points)
Hufflepuff 26

Alternative point count (with points for the Quidditch players, rather than teams):
Gryffindor 20
Slytherin 20
Ravenclaw 14 (+3 from Rei's currently unspent points)
Hufflepuff 6

Right, so 4 months to go until school ends and we're guaranteed to reach our target. We still got until August though, so there's chances during the summer as well. I suppose there will be a malus due to not being at Hogwarts, beyond the one we got narratively.

I'm honestly quite tempted to go with 4x Physical this month to get overflow into the QI condensation stage and get the most out of the boon.
A mix of History and Transfig the month after. weighted toward completing History (or is it better to finish transfig first?)
A mix of Charm and Transfig(or History?) after that. Weighted toward completing Transfig (History)
Potions and Charms the last month? Weighted toward completing Potions

I think focusing on Astronomy and/or Herbology during summer could be neat narratively as Rei would want to find areas with more QI.

Let's save 1 point every month so we have at least 6 by June.

I just didn't mention them as I don't any of these as particularly needing points, but I wouldn't mind 2 points on the muggleborn action.
Sorry! Hope you don't mind me posting your plan first and doing exactly that.

Edit: Changed it to 3. The last 3-point boon we got was just so good.

It also suppresses the rejection reaction of too much alkahest, so it's commonly used in hospitals to switch out whatever cocktail the unfortunate cultivator was on for treatment potions.
Just noticed this. Will we be able to take more than three potions in a month with it?

Math doesn't quite check out. Beside that, the main issue is that the 3 points boon we got was much better than the 2 points one, so much so that using 3 and then none and then 3 (total of 6), for example, is more advantageous than using 2 for 3 consecutive turns (total of 6), I believe.

With better Herbology, possibly. Not right now, though, or it would have been stated in the mechanics portion, I'd imagine.

"Most of what I'll be trying to teach you is the refinement of Alkahest to better forms. As you progress in potioncraft and your potion bandolier grows, you'll find that it's possible to brew purified Alkahest which lets you consume more before becoming toxic."

There are references to later volumes refining the potion to reduce the backlash and enable more doses,
More potions at higher potion levels.

--[] Potion of the Rapid Steward
The potion itself looks suspiciously like coffee, but you only see it for a brief moment before the instructions demand you clean up the mess and pour it into a bottle you had to fashion yourself as the draught simmered. The concoction itself is another mental booster, supposed to help you catch mistakes and things you'd later regret. The casual implication of a simple potion knowing what you would regret in the future gets neatly smothered in the recesses of your brain before it drives you mad.

Each round, reroll the lowest die in your pool, keeping the higher number.

-???
A very likely failed d20 gets rerolled every turn, and even if you're rerolling a success, that's fine. So this is basically +1 die to the pool. Does this surpass the Sleepy Sandman as the new best potion, among all those we know about? I think so.
--[] Potion of the Deafening Tooth
Little crescent shapes float in the clear gel-like liquid, occasionally coming close enough to each other for something to trigger, causing them to slam together like jaws before drifting apart once more. One of the more 'out there' potions you found, originally meant to teach children to chew with their mouth shut. Every time you slam your teeth together while your lips are parted, your mouth becomes a weapon, emitting a blast of noise loud enough to stun or daze any opponent.

When dealing damage, reroll the lowest damage die as a d125 instead, keeping the new result.

-???
Reroll the lowest d100 result as an unknown d125 that you have to keep. Only counts on won rounds and doesn't guarantee more damage. Meh?

That's fine, I was busy at work anyway. My main sticking point is the training actions, so I can live with spending 3 points.

-[X][Social] You're cornered by Hannah, who demands an exact retelling of your impromptu healing under the merciless hand of Madam Pomphrey.
-[X][Social] You've never been in a choir before, but you're not about to let that stop you from going to the audition when you find Elder Flitwick in the common room, posting a notice on the board advertising the Hogwarts Choir.

Action wise I like the three/one split more than going all in on one subject.

For socials, I think choir is an interesting complement to art as a character interest. Divination seems really fascinating and we still don't know a lot about it, which is why I chose the Lavender action; and the Hannah action seems time limited in a way that most others aren't. I ended up putting the points in the choir action, but I think a 3 point boon from any social is going to be pretty good so I'm not married to that choice

That's for sure, but the particular potion discussed has a description that hints at allowing more intake of Alkahest than normal, beyond the regular mechanics you quoted. Since the QM has confirmed that Herbology can improve upon potions already known, it's possible that's one such effect of the Careful Sommelier.

The only difference to the above plan is that Ive gone with the Terry action instead, as its cruel to leave him waiting so long to find the kitchen when we know about it already particularly if he wants to pursue a culinary career. The mention of additional opportunities for exploration is also a big plus too.
