It'd be pretty awesome to get the rights to doing live-action movies for TMNT, Mortal Kombat (Though, WB already owns them by now. Got bought in 2009, and it's 2011 right now), G.I Joe, and Venture Bros.

I could add the options to the "Try to get the rights to ___ character" section of options.

Also, I'm pretty sure we own Kingpin due to him being a Spider-Man villain at first.

Or am I mixing it up?

I just checked Wikipedia, and we do indeed own Wilson Fisk.

Alright, awesome.

Look, I have to go somewhere for a few hours today, and I'm going to be pretty busy tomorrow.

So, I'm going to end the vote an hour after I get home today, and fucking... try to get an update out before having to do stuff tomorrow, but there's no promises.

[X] Carl Lucas was arrested for a crime he didn't commit, and sent to Seagate Prison due to his 'crimes', while there he was experimented on against his will, and gained superhuman strength and incredible durability. After this, Carl tried to use his new-found powers to escape the prison, but failed, getting put in a special ward of the prison, filled with various other people with superhuman abilities, where he has to either make friends with the more powered people, or fight them to take the spot of the top dog
    [X] Connected Universe:
-[X] We start the movie with the last scene of Spider-Man, The Shocker is welcomed to the prison, when almost every other inmate is cheering one don't and look at him with intese look, than we flashback
-[X] We see a long montage of Lucas as a teen doing crime, with his best bud "Stryker", we focus mostly on their interaction and character development, the crimes they commit are bad, but we present them as almost an after thought.
-[X] Then the next segment is going to be almost a love story, between Reva Conners and Stryker, with Lucas as a good friend for both of them
-[X] Suddenly, without any reason given Lucas is framed in a crime he didn't commit and he is going to prison
-[X] in the next year he pisses off almost any other inmate and guard as he is trashing and saying he is innocent
-[X] then the Shocker come to prison, and the movie start, we follow a sub-plot, the Shocker wants to become the top dog, and searches for a target that won't piss off the guards to much
-[X] the whole prison is going into a riot that almost cost Lucas his life
-[X] then there is the usual comics offer from Dr. Noah Burnstein to be a part of experiment, we learn that this doctor is a rival of Dr. Curtis Connors and wants to make a breakthru due to Connors recent one
    -[X] Lucas gets his powers

14- Expanding on the Luke Cage Movie.
[X] We start in Seagate Prison, later learning that Carl Lucas was framed for a crime he didn't commit. And watch as he goes about his daily prison life, before gaining his powers in an illegal experiment. A few days later, a riot breaks out in the prison, and Carl Lucas makes a deal with the warden to put a stop to it, in exchange for parole. And so, we spend the final act of the movie, watching Luke Cage fight a bunch of murderous prisoners.

You decided to have the movie start off within Seagate Prison, where it would follow Carl Lucas' daily life in prison. Later, we'd learn that he was framed for a crime he didn't commit, before gaining his powers in an illegal experiment, there'd be a few scenes showing off his abilities. Super Strength, and Invulnerable Skin, after a while, the prisoners from within the prison would riot, and Carl would make a deal with the warden of the prison. He'd stop the riot, in return for parole.

Now, you had to go into a few specifics. Like, how was Carl framed?

[] Show a few scenes of Lucas as a teen doing petty crimes such as: shoplifting, vandalizing, and smoking pot, with his best friend Stryker, focusing on their friendship through it. But one day, Stryker accidentally leaves a large bag of weed in Lucas' car, and the cops search it, finding it and thinking it was Lucas', they arrest him on possession charges. Being Stryker's friend, he takes the fall.
[] Show a few scenes of Lucas as a teen doing petty crimes such as: shoplifting, vandalizing, and smoking pot, with his best friend Stryker, and girlfriend Reva, it'd mostly focus Carl's and Reva's relationship through it, and tease at some jealousy from Stryker. But one day, Stryker accidentally leaves a large bag of weed in Lucas' car, and the cops search it, finding it and thinking it was Lucas', they arrest him on possession charges. It is later revealed, that Stryker had intentionally planted the drugs in Carl's car to keep him away from Reva.
[] It's the typical case of a racist cop framing a black man for a crime he didn't do. More specifically, someone in the area Lucas lived in was assaulted, and after planting some evidence, a pair of cops arrested Lucas, after he spoke out against their corruption.
[] Keep the crime he was framed for vague.
[] Write-in:

Now, you had to think of what to do about the prisoners Lucas fights in the third act of the movie. Do you have them be normal people? Or do something more with them? You have a few ideas.

[] They're just normal, if murderous prisoners rioting.
[] The prisoners were also experimented on, giving them various powers based on the human body (Inhumanly sharp teeth, enhanced speed, enhanced intelligence, etc.)
[] Write-in:

Now, does Carl Lucas take on the name of Luke Cage within the movie?

[] It becomes his nickname amongst the prisoners, due to his somewhat... cagey nature.
[] He takes it on as a new name, after he leaves the prison on parole.
[] He doesn't take on the name.
[] Write-in:

What about Power Man? Would Carl Lucas take on the name he originated with?

[] He gets called it by one of the prisoners he's fighting, after showing off his super strength against them.
[] He calls himself Power Man, after learning of his strength and durability, mostly as a joke.
[] He's not called Power Man at all within the movie.
[] Write-in:

Now, do any other Luke Cage characters appear? (Choose as many as you'd like, though the more there are, the more you'll have to cast, and I'll have to roll for)

[] Shades is a fairly average gang member within the prison, a person from Carl's past.
[] John McIver also known as Bushmaster, is a prisoner within Seagate.
[] Albert Rackham is a vindictive, racist guard at Seagate Prison who seems to be obsessed with Carl Lucas.
[] Gideon Mace, is one of the guards within the prison, being a gruff, mean son of a bitch, but having a slight soft spot for Carl, due to his relatively low-level crime, and not being any trouble amongst the other prisoners.
[] Cockroach Hamilton is a fellow prisoner at Seagate, constantly seen with cockroaches around him, and tinkering with something he calls "Josh"
[] Big Ben Donovan is shown in a flashback to the trial, to be Carl's lawyer, trying to keep him out of prison but unable to do so.
[] Mr. Fish shows up, as the pet fish of another prisoner. Though, that doesn't mean the real Mr. Fish doesn't exist out there.
[] Curtis Carr, also known as Chemistro is a fellow prisoner at Seagate, helping Carl in controlling his super strength, seeming genuinely enthusiastic at his strength.
[] Cornell Cottonmouth is referenced by some of the prisoners from within the movie.
[] Black Mariah is mentioned by a few prisoners from within the movie.
[] Moses Magnum shows up as a weapons manufacturer, interested in Carl Lucas' newfound super strength, seeming to be in awe of the protagonist. He's not seen for the rest of the movie.
[] James Lucas is Carl's older brother, who seems to dislike his younger brother quite a bit... to the point of flat-out telling him that Carl's going to be disowned due to his crimes.
[] Write-in:

...There's an idea in your head, of including The Shocker within the movie. Should you do it, though?

[] When Carl is leaving the prison at the end of the movie, have him bump into the newly incarcerated Herman Schultz.
[] Have a side-plot of Herman Schultz becoming the top-dog of Seagate Prison.
[] Don't include The Shocker in the Luke Cage movie.
[] Write-in:

Now, you have to work on a few post-credit scene ideas. Thankfully, you have quite a few ideas, though only one would come in.

[] Carl fully takes on the name of Luke Cage.
[] A fiery, screaming skull-like being flies into an unknown figure from behind.
[] Write-in:
_____

I am so surprised that I managed to get this out before tomorrow. Also, there isn't a Director roll yet, purely so we can just do everything for Luke Cage's movie that needs to be done.

Please, use a PLAN FORMAT. If there's no Plan Format in your vote? It doesn't count.

Oh yeah, if anyone wants to, can someone (or multiple someones) pitch any Director or Casting ideas for Luke Cage?

-[X] Write in: The newly-named Luke Cage, now released from prison, is walking alone in an alleyway when he hears slow clapping coming from a man in the shadows. The man says he is impressed with Luke's abilities, and says that his boss has a very enticing offer for him. He reaches into his coat, pulls out a Daily Bugle magazine, and tosses it on the ground. The front page photo is revealed to be one of Spider-Man as the camera fades to black.

I don't have any experience with Luke Cage media, so feel free to tell me if this sucks or not. I also don't really know any of these characters, I just went with the ones that I thought were the most interesting, so I'm open to any and all suggestions for characters I should add or remove. I'm also not good at naming plans.

Love it.

But, there's a problem.

You have two post-credit scene options.

You could probably mix them both into one write-in like:

[] Carl fully takes on the name of Luke Cage, and the newly named Luke Cage, now released from prison, is walking alone in an alleyway when he hears slow clapping coming from a man in the shadows. The man says he is impressed with Luke's abilities, and says that his boss has a very enticing offer for him. He reaches into his coat, pulls out a Daily Bugle magazine, and tosses it on the ground. Got it, I'll change it right away. I did these out of order, so I must've mixed them up without realizing.

Also, for Director, I say we go with Quentin Tarantino, since that was my main reason for going with a Luke Cage movie. If we can't get him, I say Ryan Coogler or Spike Lee, since I think these guys would also work for this movie. For casting, the best I can think of are either Jamie Foxx, Michael B. Jordan, or Idris Elba.

[X] Plan: The Hero in a Cage

Only change I would make to this plan would be to have the movie set in Rikers Island, given that's where Herman was sent to at the end of SM1.

Jamie Foxx, a well rounded but ruthless Luke Cage [late twenties], Michael B. Jordan as a compelling character prone to bursts of fury [late teens/early twenties], and Idris Elba as a tired yet still regnal man [mid-thirties]; basically depends on how we want to portray Luke Cage and what stage in his life we want him to be at.

I think we could explain this by establishing that Herman was "transferred" to Seagate as a result of implied ratfuckery by the mysterious man's boss.

What do you think about Mike Colter, Samuel L. Jackson, or Terry Crews as Luke Cage?

Genuinely curious as to what you think.

A little more superhero origin story without changing the major beats. Same as the other plan once you hit characters.
