Once we get our Tournament Skills out of the way, I wouldn't be opposed to spending half our AP working on Resistance/UM and the other half pushing up all not Minus Skills to All 20.
Personally, I like the idea of using half of our AP to continue Resistance and UM training, but use the other half to get our Speech and Empathy skills to 50-60 range, then move to other skills we'd need, like Supernatural or Perception, maybe even grab Stealth or Alexander (Cleverness).

But that is something to be decided for later.

OMAKE APPROVED! GAIN +10 TO THE NEXT SKILL TRAINING DEDICATED TO YOUR FIRST AP SLOT! THIS CAN'T STACK!
Just as a reminder.

Imo, this would be far better placed on one of our school reqs rather than on a speech skill as in both the current plans.

Edit: Buuuuut seeing as how Art and Practicality aren't strictly necessary, meh, personal preference.

Mostly making this to stave off the "Necromancy" Block that will show up.

But yeah. My job has been good so far. However, I am feeling the effects of having to work into the evenings. Makes me worried about writing or doing anything in the mornings as I'm not sure whether I have the time to do it.

Still though, not giving up on this Quest. I'll try my best to make time and get the next update in soon.

Week 8.1
[Intimidation: 8 + 22 (10 (Omake) + 2 (Yameko) + 10) = 30

[Persuasion: 18 + 12 (10 + 2 (Yameko)) = 30

Your focus for this week is on your social skills. With your education and midterms well taken care of, you're next objective is ensuring you don't make yourself look or sound stupid when classes start back. To that end, you ask Yameko to be your training buddy for the day. If there's one thing the Kitsune seems to know, it's how to talk to people.

As it turns out, she knows much more than that.

Her giving you pointers on how to get people to see things your way through appealing to their emotions was expected. It matches up with your general approach to tense conversations. Get people to understand you through showing how you understand them.

What you didn't anticipate what her giving you advice on how to force people to see things your way.

You were already an intimidating person. Even if you didn't mean to be. Being as tall and tough as you are will do that. But, somehow, Yameko taught you how to be even more intimidating. Specifically, how to look and act more intimidating.

"Intimidation is about making the other person think that you can harm them in ways that they can't imagine. You don't have to be able to do that, of course. It just helps," she said this with a smile....after shifting her teeth to their sharp, pointed forms.

It was pretty creepy.

But, you won't deny that you took her words to heart.

You are now better at appealing to others through both emotion and force!

[Speech: All 20]

Huh.

All this practice talking to people has made you....well better at talking to people.

But...it goes a bit farther than that. You feel more...confident. Well...you were always confident. It's apart of your personality. You always make sure to have a bright smile and brave face on to show that off to everyone. But after all your social training you feel you could actually do something with it now.

Like make others feel the confidence in the way you speak. To show them that you are not afraid to say what you want, when you want, and how you want. It's sure to make meetings with new go smoother. First impressions are everything, and people are impressed by those with confidence in themselves. Well...most people are.

New Perk Gained: Words Filled With Confidence: Through training your social prowess, you're now able to put the confidence you feel everyday behind your words. This makes it easier for you to form bonds with people who share your ideology or are simply normal people. Cynical or villainous people will find your attitude either respectable or annoying, but can't fault you for your bravery. SLs with Idealist, Optimist, and Normal people start at Level 1 and you get a +5 to Persuasion Checks against them. SLs with Cynics, Pessimists, or Villains start at Level 0 instead of Level -1 and you get a +5 to Intimidation Checks against them.

[Yato: Interest: 0 + 12 (10 + 2 (Hayato)) = 12]

[Empathy: Interest: 3 + 15 + 2 (Yato) = 20]

Your training with Yato doesn't result in such major revelations. But the two of you do bond a bit over better understanding why people would be interested in certain things. You take to heart the general idea of it. What it is that makes people interested in the simple pleasures. Shelter, food, companionship. Things that would be considered the "Basic Needs" for all humans.

Yato, meanwhile, focuses more on what makes people interested in the supernatural. After all, to him, things that are strange or only within the realm of your imagination are everyday life to him. And thus, completely mundane. So, why would people take such an interest in things like him? It's through your help he's able to better see things from outside his point of view, but you can tell it's gonna be a bit longer before you make any significant progress.

Both you and Yato now understand why people find interest in the simple things in life. Relationship Points +3.

[MMA: 41+ 25 (15 + 10 (Hose) = 66]

Your mouth gapes open as you see Hose fall to one knee. The both of you are standing in the gym with Sensei and your other Senpai watching the two of you train. Sensei insisted that you practice here to better prep for the tournament. Something about how the atmosphere would increase your fighting spirit.

At the time, you thought he was just making shit up.

But, as you watch Hose gasp for breath and hold his solar plexus with a shaky hand, you can't exactly say he was wrong.

Because, for the first time since you started training with him, you managed to get a good hit in on Hose.

Your training buddy pushes himself to his feet. His lip are set in an elated grin as he gives you a thumbs up, "Nice job, Nagai! Now you're good enough to keep up with me. Guess that means I need to kick it up a notch for next time."

"Ye-yeah," you're still stunned by what you just did. Have you really improved that much in such a short amount of time?

If so, then you've got this tournament in the bag.

[MMA is now above 50!]

Two Special Events Occur this Week! Choose which you shall observe!

[] The New Benefactors:
As Raijin Academy gets ready to open up its classes once again, Hayato and the rest of the student body are called to the assembly hall. There, the Principal of the school introduces the group whose donations allowed Raijin to repair its campus so quickly, along with new Teachers and an Exchange Student. However, there is something...off about the whole situation.

[] The Student Council President: Yamato arrives at his meeting with the Student Council President. There the two talk about their respective ideologies, plans, goals, and establish exactly where they stand with each other. Yamato does well to keep his emotions in check...until the President mentions his brother.

I LIVE AGAIN!

Seriously though, I'm glad I finally got this in. Sorry it's so short, but I really couldn't think of ways to improve it. And I didn't want to just pad it out with unimportant details.

As for the choice there, that's to both give you guys a choice rather than have this be just a simple training update, and also because I have interesting ideas for both...but didn't want to write them both out.

Why?

I need to keep some secrets from you guys.

Edit: I think what I'll try to do is work on my writing projects Friday nights. It's gonna be the only real time I can just stay up all night without worrying about sleep for the future.

Kitsune.

Indeed, imagination is a powerful weapon.

Nice, very nice.
[Yato: Interest: 10 + 12 (10 + 2 (Hayato)) = 22]

[Empathy: Interest: 3 + 15 = 18]
Wait, shouldn't we also gain that +2, since we have that skill as a bonus while Yato has it normal, making our final total 20? And wasn't Yato's Empathy: Interest's at 0, not 10?
But, as you watch Hose gasp for breath and hold his solar plexus with a shaky hand, you can't exactly say he was wrong.

Wohoo, we're improving!

Ah, the exchange student.
