New Good Seed and Omake Rule Updates
Good Seed and Omake Spreadsheet Rules:

Firstly, if you have questions about Good Seeds and the like please read here. If that doesn't answer your question please ping me in thread, or on Discord.

If you write a new Good Seed, or write an omake, please update the spreadsheet if you have access.

If you do not have access, please ping a collaborator (Swordomatic, Alectai, Quest, TehChron, Insane-Not-Crazy, Humbaba, ReaderOfFate, Kaboomatic, no., BungieONI) letting them know what you want and they will update the spreadsheet here. To gain access, you will need a gmail account of some kind. Throwaway emails are fine (I'm using one for the spreadsheet), but to gain access it's as simple as sending me either your email via PM, via DM in Discord, or just in Discord's #spreadsheet-requests channel.

This is mandatory. If a Good Seed does not record their omake by pinging collabs (or just requesting access and editing things themselves - this is the preferred option), I won't give out awards. If a new Good Seed is not recorded here, they won't advance. By doing this it makes the whole thing manageable for me - it's gotten pretty unwieldy!

Omake Writer Instructions:

There are four fields you need to fill out.

Omake Link, which is just a link to your first omake for the turn. This makes it easier for me to read them as I do the update - without this it's tough to know off the bat which omake were written this turn, and to properly

Requested Bonus, which is your requested bonus for your omake. You can leave it up to me if you like. You can see more info in the Good Seed infopost here.

Cultivation Aims. For those following unorthodox paths - higher than 9th Heavenstage or later than 7th Dao Pillar paths. Please put in what you are aiming for before you break through. I have left it as 'default'. If you do not edit it, I'll go with that.

Turn Notes - Do you want to do something specific? Enter a Secret Realm? Help the Clan out in some way? If you have something specific you want to accomplish on this turn, put it in turn notes so I can adjust your Fate around it.

All other fields are for QM use to record character information to properly run the flow of the game.

It feels very premature to say the Jingshen and Saber Palace would be neutralised as enemies. Both would simply have different venues to attack us from.

The Jingshen because they would be desperate to avoid irrelevance and the Saber Palace because we have a Shiny Bought grudge with them.

If anything I could see this decision putting our enmity with the Saber Palace to the forfront, as they become the face of the RP forces intent on pushing the new kids nose in the dirt repeatedly. They could likely pull it off too with their superior spread of contacts and domineering sabre techniques. They could outmanoeuvre us consistently at the kind of Tournaments, Pointer Exchanges and Palace Intrigue that are the meat and drink of the Righteous Path.

Don't forget that we can fix the Technique Palace much faster with Blind the Thief!! We'd be basically getting much much more oomph for the next trial's time and more on the side for other projects!

Again. Cloak the Ways Between is good, but it's also not very helpful at capitalizing on our gains from this war

Absolutely. It only focuses on dealing with the one thing we have been unable to diminish. The thing that has been tearing us down from the start the most and that takes decades of prep to just survive to that level.

It's more that increasing our income would be just as viable a solution to that.

I'm awake and sober:

Why the hell is the New Sect route so popular?

People are trying to hard project that we can tilt things overly in our favor to make soft power plays so serious question

What about our build suggests that Soft power is our area of expertise?

Weve gotten this far through well applied raw force. Our Soft Power plays have been purely reactive to the moves of other powers against us, so seeing all this excitement over a new Sect is confusing to me since when were we built for that?

Like

At all?

I don't want to put words in people mouths but I think a lot of people (myself included) really liked the narrative possibilities created by that choice.

Though I do agree that strategically its one of the worst options for us.

[X] What are the qualities of a righteous man?
[X] Walk in the Light, Cloaked by Shadow

TBH while I like the idea of being against the world beating the faces of the so called 'Righteous' and casting down the cannibals and blood drinking parasites to become the Hegemon of the Little Flipper I don't think it's for us. Cause as much as Jingshen and the Saber Palace are dicks I don't feel like entering a war of conquest against the entire Righteous path is the solution to them. I would much rather punch blood path villains since they literally eat people and if it means we have to deal with some Righteous path dick measuring so be it.

We also get to be a part of the Demon Altar War which I find really interesting and potentially fun.

My only real issue with this path is after we beat the Devil Bees and the Demon Altar War we'll basically only have Righteous powers to deal with. Which with us being Righteous ourselves I fear it would make the game a lot more boring since we'll have to deal with ugh Politics and Intrigue for the foreseeable future. This is just a fear for the long term and I bet Occi will have some fun plans for when we get to that point I just feel its a valid concern for this path

[X] The Negotiated End
[X] Blind the Thief

Yeah, I think this would be our best move then.

I can certainly understand the appeal of more money. It gives you the option to do more stuff... that said your forgetting that it doesn't change the quality of the lands we are already invested in. This is only effective for new lands. So this is a long term investment that requires us to acquire new lands. Yes we are picking up some lands but these lands are the worst according to the gm. So overall this is the weakest of the options short term.

So, new lands of which we're getting a big pile of?

[X] The Negotiated End
[X] Blind the Thief

We get another round of negotiations after this

So I'm curious where that will go, especially if we manage to gank the Devil bees down the line.

They're also virtually untapped, and it's still progress towards breaking the curse in total.

The 'Worst quality' stuff is only for New Sect, Negotiated end just splits the takings two ways, the entire Sect still gets torn apart.
Witch curse the one that's actually harming us or the one that's merely restraining are gross a little bit? Because clearly you're not valuing losing a third of our forces every hundred years all that highly compared to the oh we're losing some wealth potential. No we've been told quite clearly that the cannibal lands are all very bad. But you seem to be picking up on is the fact that they say we are getting the worst of them they're all still bad it's just a relative one is better than the other even if both are crap.i

All of the curses are hurting us. One does it in one lump sum on a predictable schedule that can be mitigated through GS action and preparation, the other ensures that any of our gains turn to ash in our hands and cannot be negotiated with, bargained with, or cheated.

Guess which one I think is harshest on us?

And you seem to be forgetting entirely that they have different different levels that they are hitting us at the trials are hitting us for a 4 level harm. Meanwhile the thief has been hitting us for a much reduced level considering that are billed seems to focus on being able to subvert it what would formations and all the other things we've worked out over the years on top of the fact that he's weakening!
If anything I tell you got them reversed every hundred years we lose a percentage of our investment by far that is turning our victories into Ash far more than the other.

...

The Curse of Impoverishment is also a 4 point penalty!

Just because it doesn't have one big manifestation doesn't mean that losing roughly 50-60% of all possible income we can get isn't devastating!

Does it apply to our entire region? No, not yet, not until we can push our income up higher. This does mean that we get a big chunk of land though that isn't experiencing that penalty but still raises our overall income and makes us better able to shake the rest of it loose.
