Reducing flaws is always a good thing and a cockpit designer will boost our designs to the next stage.
Reducing flaws has different value at different steps. The best value is during a step since we can spend advantages to boost stats. Doing so at the end we have a more limited option on where to spend advantages and they also are more expensive per stat boost than along the steps. The other advantage for for research droids is when making our own parts we can use them again down the line if they are really good (rolling a 6 works towards that)

I presume we would be able to acquire another expert before starting the project after this one, so it would probably be better to choose an expert that would actually be relevant with the design we are currently doing...

Except it is not at all relevant for the next design. We already have a frame, engine, and cockpit done. We are starting on weapons.

Did we ever have a semi agreed upon picture of what our corvette looks like? It's been awhile since I last looked at this quest so I don't remember if we even talked about it.

Well, forgot how far we got in that design...

The corvette class from the expanse is one of the main bits of inspiration that got thrown around.

I'm going to side with Silversun here, it's been described as "hexagonal" so I assume it looks like the Rocinante but stretched/scaled up to the size of the CR90 blockade runner.

I would think stretched more than scaled up, and more Consular sized (115-130 meters rather than 150 of the CR90) It is less of a ship with a bridge, and more an oversized cockpit.

What are you talking about? The Corvette is the same size of the CR-90 as that is the normal sized option we took. And no it is not a oversized cockpit. It is like you didn't even read what we did and the results.

Why are you using this on the Jawa? He doesn't give any indication on just what they do and if we want to improve our company then what we need to do is focus on a single aspect where we can excell. The other people voting for Cockpits are wasting our bonus by spreading out the ablility of the company when we should be trying to make the one stat we have higher be better so that we can create a reputation for making a much better part. With 3 points in frame when we build a new ship like the shuttle which will need a new frame we can create one that is far better than anything on the market.

That is the issue. You are thinking about only the next ship while this is meant for the company as a whole and long term products and designs.
No, I meant that after we finish the Naboo contract (If it wins) will we have another chance to pick that expert? If so then there is no benefit to picking him now as we will not use him for the next contract and once that contract is done we can pick him allowing us to make more optimal use out of our choices.

So in my view, there is absolutely no reason to pick the ship frame expert if we go for the Naboo contract since we will get no benefit from it immediately and we'll be able to pick him once the contract is completed.

Secondly, every time we make a ship there are 4 stages (4 chances to roll a 6 for the droid research team). This means that there is a good chance that we will get 1 or 2 activations of it each time however that is by no means certain and we could just as easily not activate it (There's about a 52% chance that we'll get at least 1 activation). To upgrade the stats of something using flaws/advantages takes 5 for each upgrade point. This means that the droid research team is undoubtedly better than QA however there is no guarantee that the droids will do something while QA always will.

Finally, I think that the Jawa will reduce the cost of the craft but I could be wrong

It helps you with future designes.
if i get it right then they now have a power core suffice enough for the weapons in corvette without those nice emergency power lines.
does it means the mark II with new core or upgraded MK1 with newer core will have a 100% inicial boost in speed for firing even if for short time like 2-3min before the weapons are too "hot"? also the benefit of rerouting the energy from weapon core throw weapons to the main grid? what if they mount into those slots batter weapons ? just a thought.

Why are you using this on the Jawa?
Because the jawa is a cheat his aplifier is mad. "can basically construct everything"
it's like bonus to all research and technology 20% if you look at it with sceptic eye.

its not good for main pick but it is in my opinion "must have" the sooner the batter, as you can use it to improve your chance with anything.
you could say withoud specialization the most experience they have is cockpit and frame. 4xp for cockpit, 1xp engine, 3xp frame but with jawa they would have 1/5 upgrade to all the work.

@Rezreep Which ship are you talking about? If you mean the corvette then no, there isn't any boost to the energy output on the main generator. The two other questions I can't truly understand, please clarify them for me.

@Jax
I apologise for that, it probably lost meaning in translation. (strange, even after re-reading it looks fine :), quirks in diffrence in languages or my poor english.)
You already answered with the first no benefit to the energy level.
Soo yes all three questings are for the new corvette, it was made with the technicly legal help for main weapon with emergency power raleys to draw energy from the main core to supply the weaker weapon core to safe space inside the ship.
Pinagg sucfully made small but strong weapon energy core for the weapons where we are beneffiting -50% space for weapon for future ships.
But the ship is alredy made and the bluprint now conteins emergency power lines even if those are not neccesery with proper weapon energy core. now those energy lines could by used in three ways.
1- get the inicial boost for the weapon, basicly energy from weapon core + energy from the main core = 2x firepower or 2x firespeed for short time as the weapon isnt made for those energy levels and after youse will need maintence, propably also some modification for it to work.
2 - with the emergency energy lines in place they could not use them for weapons in critical situations like main core is broken so they draw energy via the weapon to the main energy line to power shield, engines, or just kick start energy to start the shutted down main core.
3 - with double the energy for the weapons they could mount on their place (slot) turbolaser out of its ship class - basicly bigger with 2x energy use.

hope it makes more sence.
btw with trying to describe it it come to me the emergency power lines could by actually main bonus avaible as it is (for star wars) something not used regually.
something like:
+1cost
-1 Compartment
+3 Advantage.

We can make a mk 2 version of the ones we are made later yes. But the result would just be more space and less flaws. In a mk 2 the lines would be removed from the Turbolasers as they aren't needed anymore.

1. Fire speed is not determined by power draw but by the charging cycle for the blaster gas. More power after a point is wasted so it wouldn't really be useful.
2. Power flows one way only. You can't send power from the weapons to other parts but you can send the power going to the weapons other places. But the emergency lines used right now only go one place to the weapons and in power lines, it is all single direction only.
3. The new mini reactors that any increased sized turbolaser would still be smaller than normal sized turbolasers. Plus we do not want to use the emergency line trick as we only did it out of pure necessity to complete the requested build.

@Rezreep Basicly what @Adventwolf said. The generator Pinagg has come up with allows the weapons to do what they should do - on paper at least. Remember, the Emergency Powerline trick is a way to go around laws. Pinagg's solution means you don't have to find a way around the law. So the output of the weapons remains the same at the benefit of not needing to hide anything.
