Mandat de l'impératrice des Cieux - Imperial Princess Troubleshooter Space Opera Quest

[X] Appeal to her pragmatism. She rose to lead the IRG without being beholden to any one faction, purely focused on doing the duty her Empress expects of her. It's in the IRG's interest to assist you: they'll get a close eye on your activities and access to the intelligence you develop.

I like this option the most. As others have said, the General won't be receptive to platitudes or personal favours, and if she thinks that we're showing weakness/incompetence/disloyalty she will move against us.

-[X]Personal loyalty to the Empress: Her Imperial Majesty has privately requested that this investigation be made, as the matter of military weapons getting into the wrong hands is a significant priority to her. However, it has become much larger than was anticipated, and she needs loyal, capable people at this earliest, most tenuous date of her role.
--[X]Bait the hook: If the General wishes, a personal, private meeting can be arranged to address her concerns about our "influence".
[X] Appeal to her patriotism. House Manandal has served the Empire for over a dozen generations; you joined the Navy out of the same duty that drives your father and uncle. Use this common ground to gain her goodwill; it might be compelling enough to preclude the need to trade favors.
[x] Appeal to her personally. She's a serving military officer, like you: she swore the same oaths to obey your Empress and defend Her against all enemies. You're acting for Her Majesty's sake, surely that means you both want the same things: you're both on the same side. You're dealing with her woman to woman, your favor will likely be of the same nature.

Hmmm. After this vote is done and the next update comes out, do you all want me to do an external monologue on the implicit meanings behind each of the approaches?

this reminds me I also should do the post-mortem on the Egon investigation, i've been meaning to do that since last year...

Lengthy downtime between updates do mean knowledge gets forgotten. The ongoing perception that Ahri's current condition can absolutely never be known beyond the current circle, lest everything explode, is something I wouldn't be surprised to hear has been implied before. Given we're being required to do stuff pretty close to Actual Politics, reading the other person's words, digging out implications, weighing the motives of organizations and key players therein, having that info kept fresh in the playerbases' mind is key to getting a productive experience for all of us.

In other words, call that stuff standard protocol.

That is after all what we're doing. Apparently keeping your oaths and doing your duty is so unusual around here it raises eyebrows and foxtails.

Naomi Chew, your wonderful beautiful daughter, the only person you love in the world, looks up to you with a tearful visage, and you promise yourself that you will make them pay. Not for attacking you, not for attacking your husband, but for hurting your daughter.

Meanwhile, Naomi-chan is highly... what is the word? Understanding? She knows very clear that both of her parents married each other because of political convenience, not out of actual love. Hell, even her birth may (or may not) a slip - her parents forgot using protections that day.

Unfortunately (for the parents, not for her), they are both doting parents. And they are actually mellowing out to each other - not that they would acknowledge it, of course. Setting up something might be a good way for them to spill their hearts. However, Naomi-chan knows for sure that it is only wishful thinking in her head, not an actual plan. Which means someone has actually tried to killed her and her mother.

On the other hand, that intern boy toy of the Intelligence Director is really cute. He's ambitious and quite competent for his age - he needs something to climb on the ladder. And he's cute, daddy would probably approve him and mommy would just slit his throat. May be she should ask him out for a counter-attack on those curs.

It's a good start, but we can go more kdrama

we need to introduce yui as Johnny's older illegitimate daughter from his ex who committed suicide who Amagi reluctantly agreed to take in (and whom she has a certain measure of affection for), who Amagi has been shaping and molding into her weapon, so that one day when Naomi rises to control RSS, Yui will be by her side as her secretary/get shit done fox

but in reality Yui is actually the daughter of Johnny's friends Masatada and Natasha, who were killed due to politics and chaebol maneuverings, and part of why he wants the Presidency is also revenge, so he can destroy the people who killed his friends and orphaned his daughter - but this secret is one he holds tightly, never telling anybody-

cue the setup for a scandal where the police SWAT team, disguised as well equipped well trained rando thugs, raids the saferoom in this office building, where Johnny is, so that they can get compromising pictures of him with a beautiful secretary - except that beautiful secretary he's supposedly having an affair with is actually Yui, who is acting as bait for his and Amagi's political enemies, and they barricade the door and try to hold out till RSS reinforcements arrive...

Anyway on a more serious note, voting will end in 12 hours from now. I don't really expect things to change in that time, but eh, you never know, we could have a repeat of the 2018 Malaysian Tsunami, who knows.

Knock on wood Whisky

Also holy shit when the counter went down from 10 hours to 9 hours and 59 minutes

Let's see: Rafidah-Aziz-Sumeragi, Istana-Negri, Rosmah, 1MDB, Malusial (Malu Siau:V) System, CPO Mahatir... Is Princess Natasha Nyonya or something?
nah, Tengku Natasha and Tengku Fauziah's surname is Perak-Kobuin. I'm trying to imply that they're the remnant descendants of the Perak royal family that married into a foxthot noble family, hence the hyphenated surname. :V

Also light cruisers Beluran and Tongod, captained by former Sabah Chief Ministers, and the CL that lead the screening force into Egon was Hang Tuah.

That can't possibly be correct. There were way more votes than that.
