Based on what our Blood Advancements did, my current assumption is it will just make us get more for each pick. If it turns out to actually give us more picks instead, I don't think it will be too late to try to pursue advancements/mitigation like this after we have secured ++Progression.[X] Artemisinin

Direct mitigation only becomes better each time we take it.
++ Progression may allow less risky fights to provide 4 picks.
I think Fisher King's the easier target, swapping Artemisinin for the discount and taking Pillars means only the remaining pick and a mere 4 Arete are required to complete the Advancement. Or at least it should be 4; Towards Fisher King says it's five, but that's inconsistent with the text of the Decimation discount. 29 Arete for two EFBs isn't a bad deal. Yet the 20% median difficulty decrease for Huntress' Moon is very valuable, for the same reasons that direct Apocryphal reduction is, our mitigation style for Decimation is almost a self-imposed form of the Apocryphal Curse. Broader selection means more morally palatable targets, too...Anyone else feel like mining? Snagging the Elder Sign is pretty tempting...
With further mitigation, it's very easy to see how some time down the line we'd be able to turn a Major Curse (!) into "Hunger must fight a two-pick fish in his paradise dimension every so often".
Honestly, even if we just built our bank back up a bit I'd be happy. Going into any situation with less than 7 Arete feels pretty iffy.I think Fisher King's the easier target, swapping Artemisinin for the discount and taking Pillars means the remaining pick and a mere 4 Arete complete the Advancement. No, the ++Progression won't help. It will improve the rewards of a fight but if we power up due to it and reduce the difficulty of the challenge down from 4 pick, it won't count anymore for Foremost Blade.[X] Artemisinin

I remember Rihaku saying that it would be equivalent to a 10 times exp multiplier though.Instead of thinking about Ruling Ring's ++Progression as increasing the number of picks we get for the same effort, think of it as increasing the amount of advancement each pick is worth.
I thought we spent 3 picks on Fisher King when we killed the Armament Fish, leaving just 2 to go.
If we can go for fisher king now, Oh boy...Your right we did spend 3 picks on it. The remaining cost on it is 2 picks 12 Arete. We should be able to get it this update even without the mitigation.
Yes, each Pick will be worth 10 times as much. But the Pick/Difficulty ratio doesn't change.I remember Rihaku saying that it would be equivalent to a 10 times exp multiplier though.
Pillars is still a better first pick.
Honestly, I just thought the name was a pun on Huntress' Moon, and the fact that Artemis(inin) is a goddess of hunting and the moon also.As a sidenote, turns out that IRL Artemisinins are a group of drugs that are used to treat malaria.
They were originally derived from extracts of sweet wormwood.
But we can drop Arte and grab FK and Pillars. I'm not sure what can save us from Chains if it catches up to us soon, but I think 10 Accursed favor might be able to buy us a ticket out.
