New Good Seed and Omake Rule Updates
Good Seed and Omake Spreadsheet Rules:

Firstly, if you have questions about Good Seeds and the like please read here. If that doesn't answer your question please ping me in thread, or on Discord.

If you write a new Good Seed, or write an omake, please update the spreadsheet if you have access.

If you do not have access, please ping a collaborator (Swordomatic, Alectai, Quest, TehChron, Insane-Not-Crazy, Humbaba, ReaderOfFate, Kaboomatic, no., BungieONI) letting them know what you want and they will update the spreadsheet here. To gain access, you will need a gmail account of some kind. Throwaway emails are fine (I'm using one for the spreadsheet), but to gain access it's as simple as sending me either your email via PM, via DM in Discord, or just in Discord's #spreadsheet-requests channel.

This is mandatory. If a Good Seed does not record their omake by pinging collabs (or just requesting access and editing things themselves - this is the preferred option), I won't give out awards. If a new Good Seed is not recorded here, they won't advance. By doing this it makes the whole thing manageable for me - it's gotten pretty unwieldy!

-----------------------

Omake Writer Instructions:

There are four fields you need to fill out.

Omake Link, which is just a link to your first omake for the turn. This makes it easier for me to read them as I do the update - without this it's tough to know off the bat which omake were written this turn, and to properly

Requested Bonus, which is your requested bonus for your omake. You can leave it up to me if you like. You can see more info in the Good Seed infopost here.

Cultivation Aims. For those following unorthodox paths - higher than 9th Heavenstage or later than 7th Dao Pillar paths. Please put in what you are aiming for before you break through. I have left it as 'default'. If you do not edit it, I'll go with that.

Turn Notes - Do you want to do something specific? Enter a Secret Realm? Help the Clan out in some way? If you have something specific you want to accomplish on this turn, put it in turn notes so I can adjust your Fate around it.

All other fields are for QM use to record character information to properly run the flow of the game.

-[X] The Dao of Darkness: Many Cultivators seek a transcendent height of power--to cast out all that makes them weak and imperfect for the sake of living a longer life. Fools one and all who are blinded by the light of immortality! You and your kin have been oppressed by the Heavens, struck down by great lightnings and terrible trials for an ancient curse... And yet, you live still--the Heavens have not forgotten you certainly, but you no longer live under its active pogrom. Is it complacency? But even in the lightnings cast down--those who should endure their power still rise in might, your kinsfolk still occasionally stumble upon fortuitous encounters. There is some Shadow to the Heavens--a seed of nascent change brutally suppressed by the grand celestial machine, out of a desire to hold to a stagnant image of history for all eternity. You desire to set it free from its bonds, that it may aid your kinsmen in reforging this realm into a thing of beauty and philosophy instead of a barbaric wasteland. It is a futile task, one that will endure long beyond your life--but there is power to this belief, and if you cannot do it--you can blaze a trail for one who comes after you. As did your master, and his master before him.

-[X] Dao of Compassion: It is a Path that originates from a different world, and it is the Path that brought your people here long ago. In a world where the individual is supreme, this is a Dao that focuses on others and their needs. People may ridicule it as weak, but you know different. All the different Daos of this world lead to you standing over others on mountains of corpses, enforcing your view of the world. The Dao of Compassion is a path you walk with others, it lifts up those that walk with you rather than push them down. In a world that is whole, such as the one your people once came from, it can unite without oppressing. And as everybody is rising to new heights together marvels and unrivalled beauty will be created. But the Dao of compassion is sensitive to those in need, and so your ancestors found this world crying out in pain, and they were driven to help. You follow that same drive still, the pain and suffering in the world calls to you, pushing you ever further to grow so you can help them grow with you.

For some reason, my vote isn't merging with the other The Rebel Cause votes,

Edit: In fact, since the questers are the one making decisions, it arguably doesn't matter how bad he is at running the sect since we can just choose the best decisions.

I want to quickly dismiss this. You as questers can make decisions, but your decisions are high-level - what should you pursue, what should you do, etc.

The little decisions that make up those decisions are the ones you're bad at. Want to try and set up new missions on your Board to get your cultivators to achieve an end of yours? You're much more likely to fail, because you don't have centuries of experience doing that exact same thing. Want to scheme against other Nascent Souls and try and trick them? The Slowly cultivator has 1,500 years of scheming experience, whereas you have 350 - not to mention a larger portion of your your life has been taken up with cultivation given how Heaven-defying you are.

It's a very significant penalty. 3x normal cultivation speed is no joke in terms of future gains, and you pay a lot for it.

Not really looking forward to being a Heaven defying talent since it feels a bit too much like being a typical Xianxia MC when I was looking forward to running the sect and raising MC like good seeds rather than being one ourselves.

It's Heaven-defying in the sort of 'wow, this guy would be a prized Young Master', not truly Heaven-Defying. MCs in Xianxia tend to reach this sort of level between age 30 and 100, you're merely in the top 1% or so of talent. You'll still need to do very little but cultivate (Nascent Souls are the first cultivators to start being ground down fully by Heaven and Earth - if they don't proactively cultivate they go backwards, so spending any time out of secluded cultivation is a significant cost) and occasionally give orders to the sect or take action every few decades.

The main difference is that you're more powerful in the long run (reaching Late Nascent Soul much faster, which is a major power boost) but in the short run you can expect to be tricked, beaten, robbed, and generally outfoxed in most matters by older, more cunning Nascent Souls.

@occipitallobe at what point does the superior team work of our cultivators beat the superior individual skill of other cultivators assuming equal numbers and how many people can the 2 headed eagle carry?

Broadly speaking, at 3 cultivators working together, you're equal to three cultivator combat specialists. At four and above you're varying grades of superior. This sounds good (and is very good in open combat), but still presents significant disadvantages when exchanging pointers, tournaments, scouting, trying to access individual good opportunities, and so on and so forth. The Two Headed Eagle can carry all the cultivators who join the formation (plus maybe a couple more, but bringing those who are not part of the formation inside of it to ride the eagle will drastically reduce its speed and power), though the speed it has will be dependent on the realm of your cultivators and their attainment here. Such a proud and noble beast will refuse to bear those outside of the Bronze bloodline that brought it forth, of course.

Hmmm, ok given that I'd argue we should never deploy our cultivators in groups of less than 4 and preferably not less than 8. We can use the 2 headed eagle formation to turn our clan cultivators into a rapid reaction force and use the cultivators of our allies for things like scouting and skirmishing. We should probably also just avoid things like duels or exchanging pointers or whatever people call it entirely.

Is there a limit to the levels of people in a formation? Like, can a group of Qi Condensation people join with foundation establishments or Core Formations in a single formation? Can Qi Condensation cultivators even join formations?

I just like the idea of being way over our heads in terms of ruling the clan. We're the guy that no one expects to succeed, our talent is low and average the Geniuses have all died out defending the clan and we are the last spark of the Clan.

I like the idea of us channeling the Spark into a roaring flame, we might not be the best but our Legacy will. I see it as being the standard first Sect in Xianxia novels, the one that the MC will outgrow in like 50 chaps, except in this case they stay and work for the Clan since odds are they are of our blood.

Chinese name to hopefully tie that into the Chinese sense of Familial Loyalty and Respect to the ancestors. I also feels that it fits the feels that were established of a reknowned clan losing everything and landing rock bottom. While personal strength is important, i hope for a more managerial style where it is our legacy that will revive the clan.

Lecturing is also to tie into the Chinese sense of Respect for Teacher to again cut down on loyalty issues when they get stronger ? I guess basically being Waver Velvet

Some further musings, there is a excellent Korean Webtoon " Volcanic Age " that in the first Chap establishes the MC as someone who inherited the position as leader purely because he survived and not due any great achievements of his own.

I like the idea of that, of being this character that looks up to the Geniuses who fell in service of the clan, who always felt this sense of regret for not being strong enough to support them or protect them. Who always has the thought running through his head of " Senior Brother XX would have done this better " or "If only i knew how to XX like so and so "

I like the idea of channeling this sense of regret and sorrows towards making the Clan something the fallen geniuses would be proud off, something that justifies their sacrifices for the Clan.

I also love the idea of us having this sense of nostalgic regret when we see a Young Seed. Something like " his sword arts remind me of Senior Sister XX ". I feel that slowly overcoming this Regrets and Sorrows as the Clan prospers would be a interesting journey for the MC.

Hmm, well as Long Chen put it 'All schemes are meaningless before absolute power'. So long as our cultivation reaches a high enough level, being bad at plotting won't really matter.

I think there are 2 stages above our current one, and they're more common on the more plentiful lands, its just that they are less likely to visit our corner of the Turtle. So we're pretty far from being a "high enough level" even just focusing on our peers in our corner of the Turtle.

This is true, but one small stage of cultivation is a huge advantage, not absolute power. You won't be able to run rampant over your enemies with ease, but cutting them down to size slowly and methodically and eventually trapping and killing a Nascent Soul on luring them into a disadvantageous situation will be much more possible. Most sects have superior defense versus offence, after all.

That being said, the biggest result of Moar Cultivation is people won't dare to attack you as easily. A great circle Nascent Soul cultivator is basically the strongest power on the continent - only two great circle cultivators exist in your region, and they both head up the two biggest powers.
