Shattered Justice (A Persona Quest)

While being around Makoto-san when he uses his Persona is still somewhat discomforting, you think you're actually handling things pretty well. Quickly, you slip into a pattern- you stab things, while he backs you up with whatever kind of magic is useful.

Not that the positions are never reversed. Fuuka-san has become able to detect what enemies are weak to Psi without you needing to test it out first, and despite being a Wild Card, this is a line of spells that Makoto-san simply does not possess.

It's easy, to work with someone when you don't have any need to talk to them. It means not discussing certain things, like the existence of Thanatos or Makoto-san's utter inability to tell people no. You sort of wonder if it'd be possible to poke him until he caves, or maybe catch him in a trick, but if it is, you won't be the one to the test it out.

Mitsuru-san and Yukari-san, too, are learning to work well together, while Koromaru darts between the two groups as needed, or when he thinks the other set is more likely to give him pets.

You're pretty sure he mostly comes to you for pets. Makoto-san's already really good a setting fire to Shadows.

Orpheus vanishes again, and Makoto-san puts his Evoker away for now. "I... don't see any more Shadows on this side," He says, as if he's qualified to talk about that when you're pretty sure he can't actually see anything out of his right eye.

...In hindsight, maybe taking the right side of the battlefield hadn't been your best idea.

"I don't see anything, either," You add, and this visibly relaxes the others, so you suppose they must have been thinking the same thing as you.

You still don't go in that direction, because Koromaru gets excited and runs down the other way, but it's the principle of the thing.

"The enemies are getting a lot stronger," You comment. Makoto-san shrugs.

"They... have." He winces, before adding, "Thanatos says they're still weaklings."


[ ] If he's not using Thanatos, does that even matter?

[ ] Right... Thanatos is really strong, isn't he?

[ ] Has he been paying more attention to what his Personas say to him?

[ ] And what does Orpheus say?
