Pick Two Skills to Train.
Skills with (+) gain 15 a week.
Skulls with (-) gain 5 a week,
Skills with neither gain 10 a week.
When Training with Someone Else:
Shared Skill Bonuses get a +10 to points gained.
Your Debuff of a Skill will get canceled out if your Training Partner has the Skill as a Bonus.
If both Skills are Normal, you both get a +1 Point Gain Bonus.
If you have a Skill at Normal, but your Partner has that same Skill at a Bonus, you get a +2 Bonus to the points gained.
If you have a Bonus to a Skill, but your Training Partner has a Debuff to that same Skill, then you don't get any extra points, but they do.
I don't see how that quote in anyway invalidates what I just wrote. The bonuses from training with someone else, are separate from bonuses gained from Bond levels.

You asked about the training rules. And we have debuff in our Education, so training Education skill with our bro would mean that his buff would undo our debuff, meaning we'd raise it by 10 points per AP, and +3 from Yamato's bond.
Thanks for clarifying! I would have responded earlier to the question.
But then I realized that the quote I was looking at, to back up my claim, could have been seen as either 25 or 13. So I didn't actually have a conclusive quote to give. Which would have just extended the topic, longer than it needed to be.
Hmm, a question. Would we actually be able to study a skill alongside Yamato or Yato during the weekends?
Or is partner training only available during the weekdays?

It is possible, but only with certain characters and certain Skills. Like if you trained Martial Arts on the weekends with Hose or Yato, you could raise your relationship rank with them as both place a lot of value on being able to fight.
Yamato is special cause, since he'd your Bro, there's a chance of improving your SL with him whenever you do anything with him.

So certain people and skills and bro, got it. Now I'm wondering if that's the case with The SL our bro makes. but knowing MC bullshit it's probably is, but not as limited as our options. Or I'm wrong
[Yamato Education: History Check: 30/10: Success! +10XP]
"Toyotomi Hideyoshi," your bro says without looking up from his book, arms laid flat on the table.
"Right," you write the name down in the journal your brother gave you, under your expert recreation of Hideyoshi's picture from the textbook on your right.
...Ok, it's not that great, but you'll know what it is! And that's what matters!
"And, what did he do to get himself mentioned in our classes?"
"Took over the Oda Clan after the previous Daimyo, Nobunaga Oda, died at the Honno-ji Incident in 1582. The Clan took on his name and he went on to unify all of Japan in 1590. He famously forbade ordinary peasants from possessing weaponry, instituting a sword hunt to confiscate the arms which were then smelted down to create a statue of Buddha."
"Wait, why would he do that?" your pencil stops as you look to your brother with a confused frown, "Why would you ever want to get rid of people's ability to defend themselves?"
Your brother closed the book he was reading and moved on to the next one, "The objective reason for it was to limit the options of ronin and potential rebel elements that opposed his rule. It was a logical decision for someone who wished to secure their power. The statue was built to ease the anger of the citizens due to the large influence and presence of Buddhism in the country at the time."
"That still doesn't mean it's right," your frown doesn't disappear as you shoot a glare at your drawing of Hideyoshi, trying to project your anger at his spirit. Who are you to say it doesn't work like that with Yato on your arms?
"Many historical events are unconcerned with being 'right', brother," Yamato's voice remains the same monotone as he closes your book with one hand and replaces it with another, "Our hour of studying history is up. We shall now switch to mathematics."
Your head hits the table with a groan, earning you a shushing from a student at a table near you. Mouthing an apology, you open the book your brother gave you...
[Education: Mathematics Check: 0/10: Fail!]
And you're head's already hurting after the first three pages.
"So, did you go to the Chess Club yesterday?" you ask Yamato to get your mind off the numbers.
"Adequate," he quickly replies, "Your Club Meeting went the same?"
"Hell yeah. Our teacher, Sensei Hamza is pretty cool, and I met this dude named Kohei. He's my Senior in the MMA part of the Club. Seemed pretty chill when I talked to him. Who'd you meet?"
"No one of significant importan-"
"There you are Nagai-san!"
Yamato and you turn your attention from your study materials to the Library's front entrance. A female student comes marching in, a purple bag hanging from her right arm. Her long skirt swishes as she walks, flat shoes tapping against the rug. Her blonde hair moves with each step and...are those cat ears on her head?
"Uh, Yato?" you whisper to your wrist as she gets closer to your table, "Is she...?"
[Yato Supernatural: Fundamental Knowledge: 40]
"No," the spirit quickly replies, "She has neither the demeanor, nor the aura of a bakeneko. She may simply be mimicking their appearance."
"Cosplay," you whisper back, "It's called cosplay."
"Whatever you say, my Lord," his voice lacks any interest whatsoever.
You roll your eyes and look up just as the girl slams her bag onto the table. Completely ignoring the fact that you're in a library, she pulls out a seat and sits down right across from Yamato, her eyes narrowed as she speaks in an angry tone, "I request a rematch."
"Declined," your bro's instant reply makes the girl gasp in shock, "I am currently engaged in studying for my classes, as well as helping my brother with his studies. If you truly wish a rematch, I will be open for one during the next Chess Club Meeting."
"No," she swiftly says while leaning forward, "I will not allow you to get away with the way you humiliated me during our first Meeting! My pride as a Munagi won't allow it!"
[Barter: Business Check: 0/15: Fail!]
You tilt your head in confusion. What does her last name have to do with her pride?
[Yamato Barter: Business Check: 20/15: Success! +10XP]
As if sensing your confusion, Yamato begins to explain, "Rishi Munagi. Her family name is the same as the CEO of Apexi. They're a rising company when it comes to the Japanese vehicle market. They've become known for their products consistent quality at reasonable prices, and above average customer service. Recently they had a merger with a previous rival, increasing their resources while removing competition."
A smug smile crosses Munagi's soft features as she raises a hand to her lips, "I see you've done your research. Could it be that learning the truth behind my pedigree has shaken your resolve, and instilled the fear of challenging me into your heart? Ohohohoho!"
...There are people who actually laugh like that in real life?
"Negative," your brother replies while writing down some numbers in his own journal, "my reasoning is that there is no reason for me to play a chess match with you when I am busy with more important tasks. And, again, if you wish for a match then simply wait until the next Club Meeting. Your status as Head of the Club means there is a high probability of us meeting then regardless."
"That is too long!" she slams a hand against the wooden table, smile replaced by a sneer, "I demand immediate satisfaction from you!"
"Hey now," you decide to step in before a Librarian comes over and you all get in trouble. You ignore the glare she sends your way and keep going, "Lets all calm down here. My bro said he'll fight you, just when the Club meets again. All you gotta do is be patient. He'll be glad to face you then."
She turns her nose up at you and harrumphs, "I wouldn't expect one of your status to understand the importance of one's reputation. You can't even wear your uniform correctly, and everyone already knows you don't belong within our ranks. Why don't you stop sticking your nose in matters far above your mental ability?"
"Now listen here-"
"Set up the board."
You pause your reply and turn to stare at your brother. The bored expression hasn't left his face, but you can see something burning in the eyes he directs at Munagi. She doesn't seem to notice, smiling as she opens her bag and takes out an entire Chess Board, complete with black and white pieces.
"So, have you finally found-"
"No talking," she frowns at Yamato's words as he swiftly sets up his side of the board, "Play."
From there you witness what feels like an intense battle of wills. Both sides focusing their full attention on the board in front of them. Multiple students notice the exchange and come over to watch the two of them go at it.
[Empathy Check: Feelings: 15/15: Success! +10XP]
And through it all, Yamato isn't acting like his usual self. He was dismissive towards Munagi the entire time, but suddenly he's ready and able to accept her challenge? Something she said must have changed his mind...and you think it's what she said to you.
[Yamato Tactics + Evasion + Education: Alexander + Trickery + History: 70 Vs 45: Success! +15XP]
"Checkmate."
You were so busy wondering what had gotten into your bro, that you didn't even notice him win the game.
[Tactics: Alexander: 0/20: Fail!]
[Evasion : Trickery: 0/20: Fail!]

And you can't even begin to understand how he won. All you know is that Munagi's white king is completely surrounded by his black pawns, and she's staring at the board with an increasingly confused expression.
Yamato gathers up his things, places them into the bag at his side, stands up from his chair and bows to Munagi, "Thank you for the match. Goodbye. Shall we go, Hayato?"
"Sure," you say doing the same as your brother. The two of you leave while Munagi is still trying to make sense of her loss, and the group of five students who were watching your brother being to applaud.
As you enter the hallway and start heading towards your dorm, you shoot a smile at your brother, "So, that's the Head of your Club, eh? I can see why you decided to join."
"The primary reason concerns time management," Yamato says while adjusting the bag to hold it over his shoulder, "The Chess Club merely requires I am present for any Mandatory Meetings, and register in any official competitions. Since we meet every Wednesday, it will only take up about 15% of my time. The other 85% can be dedicated to my studies, helping you with your studies, and searching for our parents. The Robotics Club would've required me to spend 50% of my time working on projects, and keeping all my classes at a certain grade would prove difficult if I wanted to help you with your classes as well."
You frown as you start thinking about how you should reply. You know that this was Yamato's decision, so it's likely one he's content with. But this is High School! He should be trying to be more social. You don't think he should be walking around with an entourage or anything, but he should at least be looking for people he can spend his free time with.
Besides you, as cool as you are.
But, again, this was his decision. Shouldn't you encourage him for making it? Or would it be better to push him to be more open to people?
[] Try to convince him to be more open with people. These are the best years of his life and, as his brother, you can't stand by while he wastes them! He should live them up while he can! Even if that means doing things without you! That means getting friends and, possibly, a girlfriend!
[] Encourage his current course of action. He chose his path and you have no right to divert him from it. You can only support him. Cause that's what brothers do.

Thank Yamato's high Education Skills and your close Bond. He knows that you struggle when it comes to that stuff and has devised the perfect method of studying for you.
1st of many harem members found. And since we are meant to be a balancing force and get him to open up more.

Maybe, but I will not lie it was fun. After all, it looks like our little bro defended his big brother. Also, the club president just sunk her chance to get with Yamato. An action worthy of a lol.

While its not the best impression in the world. Character development can change a lot of things.
Anyhow! Would analyze the chapter, but I'm a bit busy at the moment. So just to leave a quick vote before coming back later.

We can't be his only source. If we get incapacitated, and he has no one else he can emotionally rely on...well that isn't what we wan't.

You're right. With that said, we should get used to training on our own, so our bro doesn't have to spend all his time covering our studying habits.

Hikari makes a good point. Our bro needs more people he can count on to have his back.
I will freely admit, I know nothing about professional Chess. If you guy's Tactics were higher, I would've actually looked up what special maneuvers and strategies there were to better describe it.
