Because Hayato and Yamato are brothers of the same age, that makes the fraternal twins, right?
Yes, unless Hayato was born early their birth year and their parents got to working on Yamato almost immediately, which is unlikely.
Another option other than their mother giving birth twice in the same year or being fraternal twins is that they were born in different years.

However, the brothers are in that window of time where after Yamato had his birthday. Both of them are the same age until Hayato gets his.

Thus technically the same age at present.

This also means that Yamato's birthday has to be in the early months, while Hayato's birthday is in the late months.

Well depending on how large a potential gap between their ages are.

Not necessarily.

While Education will allow you to unlock the path to better time management, it is not the only way.

If you're extremely clever, you can find easy ways to get cetain tasks finished quickly so you have more time, as an example.

So cleverness has an AP behind it, but it's a ways down the line.

Are AP boosting tricks all locked behind Perks or can some occur from just training? Because we can generally trust Sage to lock them behind perks and housing, but we don't have a baseline for your style yet.

TBF, some of the AP are just locked behind the All 50/100/150 for Education, which doesn't require spending a perk point to get. That'd just take training.

[X]...but, unfortunately, you do not qualify to live in one our dorms. We will do everything in our power to accommodate your commute to our school. We hope to see you soon.

[X]...which is the reason your request to live in one of our dorms with your brother has been accepted. We hope to see you soon.
Hmmm... as the oldest sibling, me and my brother don't share a room. While this hasn't lessened our bond, I'd reckon that it'd be nice for us to share a room with our bro.
Also sense you weebs nerds have elected to give our bro a harem I feel we must pay special attention to the love life of our Bro. This stuff doesn't tend to work out for the better, and I don't think hes the romantic type.

Ah right...
[X] Yes Harem, no focus - Your bro will have a Harem, but it will not be a major part of the story. There will be Shenanigans and filler dealing with the Harem, but it will only happen when there's been a lull in the main story. Sometimes it won't even happen on screen.
Really hope that we won't have to deal with this as much. Honestly, assuming we can manage it and it won't cause too many complications. We could probably encourage Yamato and whoever he genuinely falls in love with, or can at least see himself in a relationship with, to date as quickly as possible.

That way we could smash the harem aspect before it evolves into something truly problematic. Especially since the vote mentioned that there would not be that much focus on it. We could presumably get away with setting up relationships this early on. As time passes, however, complications could arise.

Looking a bit too ahead though. We'll deal with it, when we get to it. Who knows, Yamato may just reject anyone outright! Or use brutal honesty. This is a shounen setting, and there are a rare few of those which have any of the main characters dating.

One of the rare examples I can think of being Yusuke & Keiko from Yu Yu Hakusho who were practically speaking, a couple, and dating.

Btw how does the Gauntlet's voice aound like?

Imagine an old warrior that's in heavy plate armor. Mixture of noble, gruff, and constant sounds of brass bells being rung as he speaks.

1. Gotcha. In that case. Do the brothers start out with any money? Or is that going to be a non-factor for the most part during the quest?

Since a prestigious school was chosen.

2. Hmm. Do they both know their birthdays? Actually...huh wonder if they are twins. If their mother gave birth to them in the same year.

That or their parents just really wanted children.

Maybe...they are artificial children! Born from the same biological DNA...nah probably not.

Fun to theorize though.

3. Amnesia? A plot hook if I've ever seen one.

4. I've been wondering. Does only Hayato have a class? Or is Yamato's class hidden at the moment. Unless the latters traits are it.

5. Hmm, actually point 2 brings something up. What is your stance on omakes? Well, when we get enough information to write things approaching canon.

Or non canon, semi-canon as well I suppose. Maybe even a ??? aka mystery designation.

1. You will have opportunities to earn money. The School wishes to ensure all its students understand the value of a dollar, since many of them will be going into something involving business when they get out. So, it has its own way of rewarding students for performing well.

2-3: Not gonna reveal much about their parents at this stage. Neither can remember their birthdays, so they're not sure if they're twins. They just know that they had the same parents, are blood related, and grew up together. As for why all that is...plot reasons that can't be revealed right now.

4. He has a Class, but it's hidden and still forming right now. It's a combination of the Traits you all chose. The reason I'm not revealing it is, I didn't want everything about him to be out in the open as the Protagonist. His ultimate Class and what it will Evolve into will largely be based on how the Quest goes. How you all treat him, how he gets introduced to certain things, the Monsters he meets and engages with, etc. etc.

5. Omakes are fine, but I have a few rules:

1. They all must pass through me first. Simply send me a DM, and I'll look over it with you to iron out any details.

2. Whether Omakes are Canon or Non-Canon will ultimately be decided by me, but I'm willing to negotiate it over PMs.

3. Omakes can give Bonuses, but they must be approved first, and the Bonuses can't stack for one Skill multiple times. For instance, if one Omakes gives you a Bonus to your Martial Arts Training, any following Omake won't until the next Week.

By AGG rules those are perks still, whereas I was referring to the training milestones of 20 40 60 80 100 points in things

I plan to go the Perk route. In that certain Milestones on certain Skills will unlock Perks that can increase your AP.

1. Awesome. Least we won't have to worry about finding a job.

2 - 3. Fair enough. We'll have to delve in deeper as the quest continues. Though I can see some laughter, sadness, or a mix of both on the birthday end in their past. Hmm...could be a future omake idea.

4. Understood. Well for the most part, it doesn't seem to be influencing his stats/skills. So its not something vital to discover at the moment. I'm sure he'll awaken to his class at some point. Presumably through an epic start to a partnership. :V

5. Gotcha. So Omakes provide training bonuses, that's neat.

Hmm, now I'm starting to wonder how many people in our new school will be aware of monsters. The best and brightest...or well most politically important students in Japan anyhow. I suppose it depends on if Japan is some kind of nexus point of craziness, or the entire world is just as crazy.

After all its a trope, that Japan somehow becomes the center of global power struggles between secret factions. :V

We could be facing a subversion though.

Now on a different thing: I wonder what's gonna happen on the first episode of this 'anime'. And for the people wondering what I mean, the event's that's going to happen at our arrival the dorms/school.
If I had to say, our current intro is probably the prologue bit of episode 1, the first few minutes, before we flash forward to the school or travel there.

Depending on how deep into formula we go...
Potential First Episode Events
1. The brothers are looked down upon, and, challenged in their respective fields.
2. The brothers meet the other central characters. Mysterious teachers included.
3. The brothers are scouted into club(s).
4. Yamato meets his future partner.
5. Yamato, potentially Hayato meet a starter villain toward the end, which has to be defeated next episode. Maybe even episode 1 depending on pacing.
6. Yamato meets his future Rival or receives a small clue about them.

Hmm...wait, the school year is just starting, right? I believe so. It doesn't seem like we are just first years transferring. In that case, Episode `1` may cover the school orientation! Probably.

Anyhow, since the brothers are sharing a room. The trope of sharing a room with a future cast member is avoided for Yamato.

That's good. They'll be good surprises when we finally start figuring them out.

I don't know about you guys but the cursed gauntlets having King Hassan's voice is now my canon. I mean "Mixture of noble, gruff, and constant sounds of brass bells being rung as he speaks" practically screams "The Evening Bell Tolls" to me.

Week 1.1
While you would typically be paired with a random student at our school, we have decided to assign you to a room with your brother. At his explicit request. You can find your room number printed on the bottom of this letter, and may begin moving in once orientation is complete. May your developing years spent at Raijin be ones of great academic achievement!

You skip down to the bottom of the letter and see three numbers "278" printed on it. A glance up reveals the matching gold number painted on the solid black door of the two floor dorm building.

"Looks like we're here," you adjust the three bags tied to your back and the two suitcases in your hands. You look over your shoulder at Yamato, who's carrying one suitcase and his laptop under his arms. You jerk your head at the door, "Want to do the honors?"

Your brother steps forward, pulls a card from his pocket, swipes it through the rectangular opening in the gray number pad above the handle, and pushes the door open. He holds it for you while you duck to stop the bags from hitting the door frame. The two of you take a moment to drink in the room you've been given.

The entrance leads straight into a living room with a flat screen, two plush looking chairs sitting right across from it, and a small round table between them in the middle of the room. Multiple empty shelves stand to the left and right of the TV, their wood polished to a sheen.

Down the hall to your left you catch a glimpse of a bed with the whitest, cleanest sheets you've ever seen on it through an open door.

The hall to your right shows two doors. The open one leads into a kitchen complete with an electric stove and microwave while closed one has the word "Bathroom" emblazoned above it.

And, of course, there's the wonderful pine scent that hits your nose the moment you take off your shoes. You take in a deep breath of it and let it out with a satisfied sigh.

Then the both of you walk into the bedroom and toss your junk on your respective beds, taking care to place the bag containing the stuff from your parents gently on the floor. You take the bed to the left of the door while Yamato takes the one to the right. Both of you open the black suitcases with decorative "R"s emblazoned on them to pull out your uniforms.

You frown at the solid black shirt while you start to take off your clothes, "Urgh, still don't like the looks of this thing. It's so...plain. Think anyone would mind if I wore my white shirt under this?"

"Considering how many of our peers looked at you with clear disgust when we entered the campus grounds, making adjustments to your student uniform would most likely result in further ostracization among the student body, along with possible disciplinary action from the faculty for violating the uniform code," Yamato replies after you glance at him for an answer. He's started undressing too.

"Yamato, we just got here," you turn back to your own changing with a shake of your head, "I'm pretty sure no one's 'disgusted' with us yet."

"Incorrect. In all past Official Japanese Secondary Education Rankings, Yokohama Raijin High School has been ranked third 75% of the time. 90% of the students who graduate from here get into positions that give them great influence over the future of the country. 80% of those students are the Heir Apparent of various corporations and political parties within Japan."

"Aaaaannnndddd that means?"

You hear Yamato close his suitcase just as he answers, "That of the 200 students that go to this school, the vast majority are, or will be, apart of 'Society's Elites'. In contrast, we are here on Scholarships that pay for us to stay on campus. We are apart of 'The Masses'. The student body being kind to either of us is extremely unlikely."

Your brother starts walking out of the room as you zip up your pants, watching him leave with a concerned frown. A shake of your head follows as you unbutton the top two buttons on your uniform so you can breathe better. Then you follow your brother outside into the living room where he starts to set up his laptop on the small table.

One step is all it takes to stand in front of him and place a hand on his laptop. His black eyes are identical yet duller than yours as they look up to stare you down. But you can still see the small flame behind them, waiting for something to spark it.

"Ok, bro," you start, "What's eating you?"

"As I said when we applied to this school, choosing to live on campus is ill-advised," he flatly explains, "There are too many risk involved to see it as a wise decision."

You smile and place a hand on his shoulder, "That's because you're thinking about it the wrong way. You're only thinking about the risk. Think of the rewards."

Before he can reply you jump back and hold your arms out, "Look at us, bro. We're high schoolers. These will be the most important years of our lives! Here is where it all starts! Forming friendships that last a lifetime! Taking pride in your school and learning to love everything you do! Discovering your passion and following it through to the end! School crushes that will blossom into the unstoppable force of passion that is Love!"

You strike a pose while planting your foot on the table and pointing towards the ceiling, "And the best way to experience it all, is to be directly in its path! Sure there are risks, but they pale in comparison to the unfathomable rewards that await us when we overcome them! No matter what gets in our way, we will prevail! For we are the Nagai Brothers! And nothing can stand in the path we blaze to our future! Are you with me?!"

A glance at Yamato shows him supporting his head with his hand while looking at you with uninterested expression that you've grown familiar with. Your smile doesn't abate. He finally shrugs while emitting a short sigh, "I suppose there is a non-zero chance of the events you reference happening. So, I will concede that you are correct in this situation. Please remove your foot from the table and cease your posing. Wrinkling your school uniform before classes start or your Martial Arts Club meets will likely result in disciplinary action, which could include the cancellation of your Scholarship."

"Oh, right," you chuckle while stepping down from your perch and sitting in the open chair, "Actually, what do you have to do to keep your Scholarship again? If you told me, I can't remember. Sorry."

"It is no matter," he leans back in his chair, "Due to my scholastic ability, they have given me three possibilities for how I can go about keeping my Scholarship. The first is to join the Robotics Club and enter competitions with them. The second is to join the Chess Team with the same conditions. The final is to keep my grades above a certain percentage, consecutively, for my first two years. I currently plan to thoroughly investigate each option and then choose the most viable of the three."

You smile and give him a light punch to the shoulder, "That's my bro for ya. Figures your smarts would get you not one good deal, but three huh?"

"It is...only natural," you swear you hear the slightest hint of an emotion edging its way into his voice. It was slight, and only lasted a second, but it was there.

The tiniest hint of pride.

With a chuckle you stand up and start heading to the kitchen, "Well, if you need any help, you know where I'll be. You know I'm here for you."

"And I will be here when you require my assistance to pass your more mentally taxing classes."

"Hey, don't think that'll happen the entire time we're here," you send a cocky wink his way, "Who knows? Maybe this school rubs off on me and I end up smarter than you?"

"Maybe, Hayato. Maybe."

You laugh then turn the corner into the kitchen for a drink.

Time to begin your time at Raijin High.

As best I can tell there's a massive bonus to training with a partner on a skill we share a bonus in. By my count we get +15 per AP since we have a bonus and since our partner also has a bonus we train it for an additional +10. That rockets us up 50 points.

If we power level this skill, we shouldn't have too much trouble starting out for fights. We're on scholarship for our skill as a fighter anyways, so we should improve that.

Besides, the first week of school is always a joke. Second week is when we need to start studying. Hopefully we can get event that's something like "crash course school" with our Bro to get 5 points across our education skills. Those have been nice additions to the AGG format instead of always just training.

I don't see any reason to train combat skills yet as there is no crisis. Better start with something to help our Bro emotional again and something to not make us get a total idiot moniker in the school.

Edited so I won't be alone on not being a training maniac.

Because if we power level it now, we can do more stuff with our Bro later when he's free. Like getting our education unfucked productively or improving our Bro's weak skills.

There's also absolutely no good reason to not train with someone. At the very worst it does nothing for us, but at its best it can get us training at +25 per AP. That's enough to get us to the skill cap from nothing with just 4 AP.

Well it was just my opinion any ways. This is the start of the Quest so I am not too againts it. I just looked at the Skills we had and thought it will be difficult for us to do anything if we stuck studying all the time. Especially when we are attending a protigius school. My reasoning is the same of yours, just in reverse.
