While normally i would argue against grabbing a full potential EFB, it's likely that we can grab Total Eclipse within 2 updates. Risky, since it gives immediate power, but much safer than the ring, and both of them have comparable potential.(Total eclipse being a seemingly full potential EFB and Ruling Ring a mixed type)

We are only 6 arete away from that, 8 with Edeldross Adept. I'm...actually unsure of how viable this is, and me pushing for it will likely vary depending on the result of this update, but i think it's worth thinking about.

And it's a good place to make a first impression on someone powerful. Tyrant is weakened to 1/3 power, and we are in our place of power.
I'm pretty sure that Uttermost cancels that, unfortunately. But i'm not gonna argue against pillars, it is an incredibly powerful option, but i think it's ill suited for the temple itself.

We can also grab it at any moment due to the hot springs, so no need to rush it.

The vote always gets more fun a few hours till closing time!

I'm really not sure which I want more at this point, partly because I'm not sure what we plan on doing if we had 25 arete and could buy anything.

We should be getting more Arete at the end of the month for signatures, Patreon, and more, so I think reaching 25 Arete is very doable by July 1st.

I'd like to note that as long as we are taking Shadowcord with us, nothing stops us from draining her powers for an exuberant sum later. Edelross Adept seems much more exclusive.

Yes and no. She probably wouldn't be very content with cash money if we drained her powers out in the middle of the Voyaging realm. Doing so somewhere she can actually benefit from the money and survive without surgecraft, sure.

I can imagine after a few life and death battles with us, she'll have a much better grasp if she wants this lifestyle as well.

It might be her true calling, but she just as well might thank us for the out.

A vote for Adept is pretty close to guarantee for a blade EFB from my perspective, there's almost no chance it leads to pillars. That would require basically no temple complications, in which case the Ring dream would also be alive once again.
The logic of this implies that we'd be forced into taking a sword EFB to survive upon taking Adept. Given that Adept has stronger combat power than Shadowlord wouldn't this mean that we'd just die if we take it since we then wouldn't be able to afford an EFB?

Proper anime rules say that sacrificing the form of rage should be the unlock conditions for a new, even better super secret special form. He sacrificed his rage, and in its place comes something new. Like a form of clarity, where Hunger is icy cold and methodical, or form of transcendence, with themes of Buddhist emotional emptiness.
And we're about to get either advanced powers over Edeldross, the energy of the Penultimate - or Shadows, which are cast by things. Convenient, no?

Adept is actually less likely to need the stances since it boosts all our combat stats where Shadowlord only boosts agi. In a straight fight Adept is probably significantly stronger.

Which is pretty irrelevant to the actual scenarios these picks will operate in if it's even true which in most combat situations it probably isn't. When one picks whole point is avoiding a straight fight immediately comparing them in such is rather missing the point.

We have no idea if this is the case, seems unlikely though. It's seems to be quite rare, just having some of the building blocks available doesn't seem to guarantee generation.

No? When we're straight up told Shadow is the safest option we have we can naturally infer there's less chance of being forced to panic buy.

Well, as long as we are near the Temple, we can literally just drive her back home. It would probably be unavailable if we are farther from civilization, but we are going to be making our way towards the Human Sphere one of these days, even without accounting for other settlements here, so I don't think we'll be staying in wilderness for long.

Again this isn't really how picks work, the generation of two picks needed to buy that will need further circumstances aligned with the option beyond just having her in arms reach.

Guh; what a reversal. People are seriously sleeping on how much stealth can be helpful; more powers to help you punch people on the face are not always relevant! More intrigue capabilities can help us significantly once we arrive at the Human Sphere, the place we actually want to conquer. Given how much political stuff is implied to be going on there, stealth capabilities could be quite useful.

Broadening our capabilities this way is as much of a long term investment as an EFB, and relevant in areas they may not! Especially if we go for three Blade EFBs and become incredibly swording focused! Sometimes, you'd rather not hit your problems in the face, but solve them quietly and with minimal fuss; Shadowlord gives us that.

Hmm, by maths there's already 2~3 on the 120$ reward tier, do we get that Arete now or when the month ticks over? It would be useful to know.

But it also doesn't give us anything more time wouldn't except for doubled Grace development, while Shadowlord is much more relevant for the approach we have chosen for dealing with the Temple. It also brings some focus into the Evening Sky which voters have been wanting for a while.

Lastly there's some politics regarding the EFBs going around; don't know if you care about that though.

We chose Infiltration; fighting would be a failure state. Which so many people don't seem to understand. And 30% of the best combat stat plus guaranteed crit from ambush mean it doesn't lag behind Adept in combat potential either. While still benefitting from all that stealth.

Considering we need picks for this; nah. Unless we depower after a fight and agree to escort her all the way back, which she might object to anyway. The circumstance that need to align for this to be even available are quite something; we can only get it now because of the bonus, even!

...it would be amusing if we could drag enemies into Pillars. They would be totally screwed.
The need to deploy it at a specific time's kind of annoying, but if the stars were right it'd be a real coup. Half the reason I wanted Inksky was to turn our mantle into a Reality Marble. Anyway, both the remaining options here seem good, but if the savegang's been defeated I'll go back to my first choice:

[X] +1 pick below
[X] Evening Sky: Shadowlord

As far as I can tell, as long as we have the picks, options just need a somewhat logical reason to appear. If we are in position to make her an offer like that - I.E. have money and place where she can spend it to live in luxury, why wouldn't she agree, if she can agree right now? I guess Hunger might need a reason to want stealth, but I think it's useful enough he will always like getting it, especially since we will have an example of its usefulness in our party.

Well, the benefit of stealth over power is a fair point, Rihaku. I guess we can wait for an EFB.

No that's not really how it happens, we got it this time because we were able to generate picks from the surgecrafting duels here. We're going to out-scale her too hard to make that feasible again, so there will have to be some other scenario in which it becomes possible.

As an example think about Philosopher's Wreath, we can't just make it show up every time we generate two picks by having a conversation about magic with Gisena.
