Magical Girl Home Base Quest

We're on week 13, so the crisis is estimated to last about 5 weeks. If we research the kolobok, get irradiated, and roll poorly, we'll be out of action until after the crisis is over. Not good when we could instead be outfitting MGs with equipment to make it easier to defeat the demon president with less casualties.

It's important to remember that while being able to heal the injured prevents people from dying, so does making sure enough of them are armed that they can win while getting less injuries.
And if we succeed, we get strong healing trinket we can either keep to use as ad-hoc medical room we desperately need, or sell as equipment to the girls, possibly other goodies and skill upgrade, that would all help keep the meguca casualties down, and then continue still making other items/upgrades the following weeks.

Both routes have advantages and disadvantages.

True, it's high risk high reward. Don't forget the middle ground option of selling it to a local to get some resources/labor and still get relatively steady access to healing.

Still, I would argue that upgrading our workshop would give us a pretty high reward too, with much less risk. Being able to produce extra items through crafting would allow us to outfit more magical girls, letting them beat the demon president faster and with less injuries in the first place.

It's not as high of a reward as researching the kolobok, but it also has much less risk.

Possibility, but then again we are faced with the fact that we don't now what the upgrade to the workshop would actually do. Would it juts be raising the level of our workshop, give us extra items when we craft, or something else? It would be a metaphorical dice roll.

We have 3 main improvement paths it seems at the moment:
Research Kolobok: Risky, but can open the next tier of trinkets, which is very powerful
Upgrade building: likely to increase ability to support more magical girls
Upgrade workshop: Improves the items we produce, and may allow us to produce more items at lower quality on top of a main item.

Quite frankly, I think there were enough building-upgrades recently. We should drop that for at least a few weeks and focus on crafting and the workshop.

Having the ability to house all these girls is worth nothing if the majority of them dies from a lack of decent gear.

True. But it could be pretty good. And since the worst case scenario is just increasing item durability, I'd say it's still much lower risk than the kolobok, where one of the better worst case scenarios is wasting a turn by failing to research it.

It's a dice roll, but it's one with less risk than the kolobok's dice roll.

...When do the expenses of the week come due?

Throughout or at the end of the week?

If the first we may have a problem since auction sales happen at the end of the week.

We have enough to cover one week, not two. And us being gone Saturday and Sunday hawking can mean we're at dice rolls to see which offer for an item is accepted or whether we're able to auction period

Actually, as long as we don't craft or build anything that costs Mundanes, we're covered for 4 weeks. We have 9 Mundanes right now and lose 2 every week, since we gain 2 Mundanes per week from rent, but lose 4 from maintaining our staff and ourselves.

I was wanting the wand, but trinket is still better than potentially losing six weeks.

It's now tied, assuming that the QM hasn't already started writing the update.

Regardless of which vote wins, next turn we should definitely upgrade the workshop if at all possible. The sooner we do that the better.

We need resources now, not later. We can work on upgrading our infra after this current crisis has passed.

Fair enough, but that result is 1/6th of 1/10th. A 1/60 chance.

It doesn't seem to matter how often people talk about how many Mundane we actually have. People still constantly think we're running out of money even when we're not.

Yeah, we're still out of Holy and Gubbins, those are what we want. Unless it's just a mountain of Mundane, which would be super handy for a few stright rounds of workshop and building upgrades.

[X] [WORK] No, you want to research an item instead.
-[X] Kolobok

This is dangerous, but everything else is dangerous too.
We might get a healing trinket, which might save a bunch of lives.
I think it's worth the risk.

(I read through the story yesterday! It is a good story.)

Still voting for the Kolobok research.

Though I do want to say that I never had any intention of selling it. I assumed we'd be keeping it to help with healing at the base.

Since someone can use a trinket effectively in battle.
And with this, Trinket is in the lead. I propose that we make it, sell it, and then immediately vote to upgrade our workshop. The resources we get from selling the trinket will keep us stable while we upgrade the workshop, and we have less chance of some new crisis forcing us to spend a week doing something specific in order to keep people alive.

Once we've upgraded the workshop, we should use any non-crisis-solving actions to make gear to give the MGs a better chance of beating the president. Unless our workshop upgrade gives us something that will protect us from radiation, in which case we should research the kolobok.
