Well, I wrote those mechanics before playing Q2, so not completely. Ken has a chance of obtaining his Psi-line spells early if he ever goes into the closet on his own- there's a lot of exploring to be done in there, though it may be a bit out of your power reach.

Nuclear spells, however, aren't going to come up unless I arbitrarily decide to give Aigis some upgrades. Which may happen. Possibly. But probably not.

Either way, even if they both get those spells, Ken and Aigis are going to be unique in that regard and their first uses of such spells are going to really confuse Mitsuru and/or Fuuka.
You heard that, everyone? All we need to do is train a bit and jump into closed filled with skeletons shadows inside oir mindspace, to gain the ability of greatly confusing Mitsuru! Everyone, prepare for training arc!

Lavenza! Velvet Room shenanigans are always sufficient enough to distract someone from their current mindset!

Diligence 4 should be a lot closer than Courage 5, and it isn't like making progress on Social Stat ranks do much by itself.

But writing is slowly increasing Diligence itself. So we can afford to take less Diligence choices.

Also, I'm just hoping that Lavenza can help out a bit by distracting Ken with Velvet Room oddness and would be willing to do this Dilligence choice next time it pops up if nothing concerning pops up on the next list. Such as, +Courage next to Akira/Maiko/Shinjiro.

[X] Spend time with friends.
-[X] Maiko and Akira.

[X] Do things in the library.
-[X] ...Again, why is that collection of medical textbooks there? (+Diligence)

[X] Spend time with friends.
-[X] Lavenza.

I actually meant dump the Courage option. Mean, interact with the Velvet Room long enough and we're bound to get goodies.

I want courage because Courage 5 lets us tell Akira and Maiko about the Dark Hour and Persona stuff.

I want Ken to have Courage 5 as well, but that'll probably take us 30 updates to get. Diligence 4 leaves us just one rank shy of solo physical training, and would likely better his results for Channeling Practice & level grinding/item farming in the Dark Hour.

@SeekerofDreams: Actually, since Diligence increases automatically, does that mean Ken achieves new ranks automatically as well? Or would we have to pick a Diligence Increase action to push him into each rank up?

It literally depends on whether or not I can fit the rank up announcement into the narrative. It can happen automatically if I find a good place for it, otherwise, it'll require you to take specific action.

Now that's over with...

Reading books with friends and then going to a resident of the Velvet Room for life advice. At least one of these is not actually recommended, but Ken doesn't really know better yet.

Advice? I wanted a distraction!

Though after a certain point 'Megidolon everything' is a legitimate option Ken can have if he can get moves from his boss fight from The Answer.

"Does it ever concern you that they keep putting heavy books on the top shelf?" You ask, looking up the shelves at your old foe. Maiko groans.

"Amada-senpai, you remember what happened last time..."

"What happened last time?" Akira asks.

"The book fell and hit him on the head. He seemed really hurt for a bit... but then this pretty light appeared and made it all go away!"

Your dark-haired friend glances up at the old, dim, flickering light above you. "Huh. Did that... actually come on properly for a bit?"

"No, not that light! It was like actual magic!" You wince. You don't really like thinking about how your friends still don't know about your powers. If they did, they could come to you for Dia if they ever got hurt, and that would be... well, it'd be nice to know you were helping people.

Still, Akira doesn't seem to take Maiko's words to seriously, so you suppose they might not fully believe that you have powers without a demonstration, and that would definitely attract attention.

And, either way, what's important is getting the book down. Hopefully, this time without getting hit on the head.

You actually manage to get the book down without incident this time. It turns out that a lot of old fairytales don't really have happy endings. Not that this was entirely new to you, but still.

The others are reading their own books, like usual, and for a moment, everything's sort of okay.

But just for a moment.

"So, Amada-senpai..." Maiko pauses, before asking, "You were pretty busy last week, weren't you?"

"What do you mean?"

"Well, we couldn't really find you at all, and that's usually because you're working on something. Weren't you?" If only it were that simple...

"I mean, I was focused on studying a lot..." You think it paid off, even. You're certainly having an easier time understanding what the teachers are focusing on than before, and that can only ever be a good thing.

"You never came to the library, though," Akira points out. "Did you just... not want to deal with us?" He sounds prepared for the answer to be yes. You honestly need to do something about that one of those days.

"I didn't... really want to deal with anyone," You admit. "I'm fine now." Sort of. Partly.

Look, you're not fine, and you're sure that the others can see it, but you're not going to be the one to actually say it.

Neither of them seems to want to be the one to say it, either, and the subject of the conversation quickly changes to the merits of a story about people with superpowers in a world where there's nothing to fight. Maiko thinks it could be interesting. Akira says there's really no point to it.

You just wonder if maybe you could one day tell them that you're almost living it.

The next time you go to yours and Lavenza's meeting spot, she's quick to come out and greet you.

"Oh, Amada-san. I assume you will be taking me to the next spot on my list today?" Honestly, you don't think you're really settled enough to give a proper tour right now, but you're also scared of what she'd do to you if you refused.

"Where would you like to go?" She doesn't answer, instead looking at you apprisingly. "...Something is different. Are you feeling all right?"

You didn't expect her to catch on to that. Then again, the world seems to delight in refusing to meet your expectations recently. And you figure it couldn't hurt to tell her just a little bit.

"Have you ever realized that someone... wasn't what you thought they were?" You aren't sure if you're talking about Shinjiro-san or Nemi right now. Or everyone else, who knew about it but never mentioned it.

"Well," She replies, "When I was younger, I was told about the Velvet Room's various Guests, and that they were all exceptional examples of humanity. Then Narumi-sama actually came by to visit and manage his Personas, and I was... less than impressed. But that might not quite be what you were talking about."

Probably not. Though you are intrigued by the concept of there being someone out there with multiple Personas... Then again, that sounds like it could be dangerous, if those Personas didn't like you.

Either him or Nemi, hopefully Lavenza's bluntness loops around to surprisingly insightful regarding the topic.

...right. The unique thing about the Velvet Room Attendents. Sure, socially, they know fuck all and are quite weird. But they actually have quite a bit of understanding about Personas. That'll be something to remember. For now however...

[X] Change the subject to the Velvet Room's Guests.

Learn what a Wild Card is. Hopefully.

We came here to distract ourselves. Let's distract ourselves.

Plus, we'll get more info on the P1/P2 protagonists.

Okay, so... Intellectually Ken knows neither Shinjiro or Nemi wanted to harm him. They're both guilty over what happened, with Shinjiro wanting to suffer and Nemi ashamed after seeing Morgana's Persona acting worse than him.

So what he really needs is someone who isn't afraid to directly address the matter, and actually share their opinion. Being angry with Shinjiro and Nemi achieves nothing, nor does revenge/denial.

Killing Shinjiro would just make Akihiko and Mitsuru hate him, and in general isolate him from others. Whereas something bad will eventually happen with/to Nemi, if Ken doesn't resolve things and accept him.

that's actually specifically why I want to talk with Lave about Nemi, because if there is anyone who would be able to help us with our feelings about Nemi, it would be someone whose entire job/existence is tied to Personas and the Velvet Room.

Out of all of the options, I feel that she will be able to explain why Nemi would do the things that he did, in a way that we will be able to understand. Or, she will be able to do something and talk to him directly as well.

[X] Share your doubts about Nemi

Because Lavenza helping Ken to accept why Nemi did it, means making major progress on forgiving Shinjiro anyways.

[X] Change the subject to the Velvet Room's Guests.
We are not getting emotional counselling from a velvet roomer. Since I dont think letting someone with the Social grace and Subtlety as a Bulldozer at a Funeral give advice is a good idea (As their idea of working out differences and trying to figure out what approach to take with someone is by beating them to within a inch of their life... then to keep beating (Elizabeth (Normal or possessed), Margaret, Theodore, Laveza- Hell even Philemon is shown to be socially inept (Or else tatsuya wouldn't have punched him in the face at the end of P2).)

Yet asking about the P1 & P2 casts wouldn't help to resolve Ken's issues, and learning about Wild Cards would be near-useless unless he somehow develops the potential like Aigis does later on.
