...Well, you've come this far. No reason to back out now. Aside from maybe not wanting to be caught, but you're sure it'll be fine. And you'd really rather avoid everyone else's stares at you being there. Just because you don't spend much time around them doesn't make you some kind of mythical creature!
You make sure to duck behind the couch, first. At that point, there's an explosion on the screen, which quickly captures the other kids' attention. If you were a bit more prideful, you'd say you timed that perfectly, but it's just a lucky coincidence.
You don't have much time to listen in on whatever that phone call is, of course. Eventually, someone's gaze is going to drift from the television set, and if you're still there, that leads to questions. Questions that you're never entirely sure how to answer, because it's never really come up before.
Just a few moments. Hopefully, that's all you need. At least, if you stay behind the corner, you shouldn't be spotted.
What you want to hear could also still be drowned out by the giant monsters and explosions, but that's just a hazard of the phone being near to the television set. It was always a possibility.
You do manage to hear something, thankfully... unfortunately, you don't know whether it's entirely relevant or not. "...Three weeks, then? ...Very well." And then there's another explosion on the screen and... okay, that actually looks pretty cool.
By the time you've realized you ventured back over to the couch, the episode is over, and you're sort of wishing it had gone on for longer. Despite the fact that it ruined your chance to figure out what was going on. That could be a problem.
On the bright side, the other kids aren't looking at you like you're some kind of alien anymore, so you guess something good has come out of today.
Unfortunately, that appears to have been the only good thing that came out of that day. Your distraction has cost you- there are no more mysterious phone calls made near to you, and with the way the dorm mother looks at you, you wonder if any of the other kids noticed your attempted eavesdropping, and told her about it. It really wouldn't surprise you, if that turned out to be the case.
But nothing's happening, and spring break starts this week, and you really don't know where to begin, because being left alone in an empty dorm is not your idea of a good time. Well, almost alone, there's a few kids whose parents don't really want them, but it all amounts to the same thing if they don't even talk to you.
Not that you've made much of an effort when it comes to them, but details! You've got friends, you don't need to worry about the people that you live with... right?
Well, it's not like it matters. They'll probably all be watching television or playing nearby or something, and you can deal with your own things, which normal people can never even begin to understand.
...Honestly, you still don't know where it all went wrong.
