The best part about everyone else being gone or packing, you decide, is that it means you can do things without really worrying about being overheard. Like somehow letting a cat in through your window, because you'd mentioned wanting to practice with your powers, and Morgana volunteered to help on the healing front.
You're still not sure how he got so many helium balloons, and thinking about it, you don't really want to know.
You have also, in the time since your last attempt at learning healing, remembered that using Physical Skills injures you, so you don't have to worry about finding random people and hoping they don't object to their wounds mysteriously vanishing. Which is, come to think of it, the kind of thing that would probably make the news if you were indiscriminate in your targets.
"Remind me again why we're practicing here," The cat asks you from where he's hiding beneath your bed. You hope he doesn't ask about the stick you keep there.
"Because doing it at the shrine would attract attention," You tell him.
"Yeah, I guess, but there'd be more space." That's fair, you suppose. You're still not moving, though. See, you've actually thought this through.
The last time you practiced Channeling in your room, you made the mistake of having your target be a piece of furniture that is expensive and that caused you some problems to do without.
This time, you have decided to fire your attacks out the window, where they shall harmlessly not hit anything. Not as good as having an actual target, but if it somehow manages to reach over and punch out a window across the street, it's not like anyone will be able to blame you for it.
It's not quite as perfect as having no risk to deal with at all, but it works, and that's all you need right now.
Just to be sure, you look down before you attack. Nobody on the street, at least that's close enough to pay attention to a random application of force. Perfect.
Morgana hops out of his hiding space to sit next to you. You assume that he wants to see how this is going to go. That's fine. You're fine with this. It's not like you're using something that could have fatal repercussions if you messed around with it... oh, wait.
"Careful," You warn him. "This isn't a fun attack to get hit by." He backs off a little, and you guess that's going to have to be enough. Now, you reach out the window... and attack.
...Nothing really visible happens, but you feel the telltale stinging sensation that means the attack went off. And nothing seems to be broken, so you think you have a method now.
"That... that was pretty powerful," Morgana states, eyes wider than they probably should be. "How did you do that?"
"I don't know, that's what I'm trying to figure out," You explain, casting Dia on yourself. You feel like you'll be doing that a lot. That's... actually why you have Morgana here, honestly, more than the practicing healing yourself. He can tell you if you get anything wrong. "Do you have any ideas?"
"It's your powers, why should I have to understand them?" Okay, fair enough. "But the attack... it seemed to be... looking for something?"
"...It's an attack. What would it be looking for?"
"How should I know? I've never analyzed this kind of attack before!" Right, something to get help with from Kirijo-san. Maybe she'll have seen something like this at some point or another.
Still, this revelation understandably puts you off of practice for the day, and then Morgana ends up leaving early because someone else thinks they heard the sound of meowing. Which they probably did.
...You need to work on your stealth skills.
You decide that you want to visit Maiko today. You're not sure why, but it feels like a good idea. So you head over towards the Oohashi residence, figuring that you'll ask if she's free and, if she's not, you'll find something else to do.
Not that you get that far, or anything. "Amada-senpai!" You're almost surprised to see her running up towards you, but not really. You're close enough to where she lives for this to be normal, it's just that you've been in this general area like... five times before, and you've never really paid much attention to the people or anything. "It's good to see you. I-" She cuts herself off.
"...Oohashi-chan? Is something wrong?"
"N-No. Not really. Just... Mommy and Daddy were upset this morning. And... when I asked them what the problem was, they said to leave. I... don't really know what to do today... Do you have any ideas, Amada-senpai?"
"Well, we could go to the shrine..." Like usual. Not that you have any better ideas, or anything.
"But we always do that. I want to do something else." Right, you need to think up a better idea.
[ ] Suggest going window shopping.
-[ ] At the Paulownia Mall
-[ ] ...Maybe a little closer to home
[ ] Would the people at your dorm notice another kid snuck in?
[ ] Insist on going to the shrine anyway.
[ ] Find someplace out of the way, and show off some of your less dangerous powers.
[ ] It might not be a bad idea to introduce her to SEES, if you're going to eventually be living with them.
