Okay... you have an idea. A better one, this time. It is based somewhat on logic and reasoning that required more than fifteen minutes' thought into it.
You know that you have powers over light and electricity. You don't know how either of those things work. You're capable of casting functional spells, but really not all that much more than that.
If you were to learn how the things governed by your powers work, though... you think you might actually be able to get them to work better. Maybe.
It's worth a shot, at least. So, when you, Maiko, and Akira agree that this will be your last library session for the school year, you immediately head for the science section, tracking down a book on energy, because both light and electricity are forms of that, right?
You don't quite find what you were looking for. So you look for another book, and another. Your friends stare at the pile of scientific knowledge that grows next to you. And still you keep on reading, trying to figure out if the rules, as they are laid out before you, can be broken with sufficient amounts of magic. Not even necessarily from you, you'd be perfectly fine with seeing Sanada-san making some of these achievements. You just want to know if it can be done.
Maiko tries to turn through one of the books herself, but quickly closes it again. "Amada-senpai, is this what your classes are like?"
"No, this is just... I'm trying to figure out how things like light and electricity work."
"For your book?" You still don't know why she latched onto that idea so quickly, or so completely. She just did, and you sort of went with it.
"Maybe, if it gets that far." You're not discounting the possibility just yet, after all. Besides, if having Personas ever becomes a big, well-known thing, you wouldn't even have to worry about a consistent translation.
"...You plan on writing a book?" Oh, and Akira seems to have caught on to that as well. At this rate, you may very well have to publish a book eventually, just to keep your friends happy with you.
"Potentially. Nothing's really decided yet. Just a few ideas. They might not go anywhere." Particularly if you can't figure out how to make things like Shadows less disturbing while still properly representing the threat they pose... even if you've never been seriously hurt by such an encounter. Somehow.
Kirijo-san did say that Nemi makes you luckier, but you aren't entirely sure this kind of thing is what she meant by it.
Still, it's nice to be able to talk to your friends about things, even if there's no real way for them to know everything. And it's probably for the best, with the kinds of monsters that lurk outside at night. So when Maiko suggests you all go to the shrine in a couple days, you're more than happy to agree.
...All things considered, it's a lot less of a disaster than it could have been. Morgana is actually well behaved, Koromaru prances around everyone begging for attention, and you manage to slip away long enough to update Saito-san on the SEES situation.
You focus on the most important bits first. "Is it normal for teenagers to not really know how to talk to people?"
"...Why do you ask, and in what way?"
"I think I can communicate better than they can. Kirijo-san says she doesn't understand people her age, Sanada-san thinks that, if he ignores the fact he's fighting with someone, it'll go away, and Shinjiro-san thinks he can make people stop caring about him by telling them to."
Saito-san actually seems to be shocked by this. "That... do they at least see the problems with each others' behavior?"
"I think Shinjiro-san might, but I'm not really sure. I don't think any of them get out much." And Ikutsuki-san is the only adult you've encountered there more than once, but you've been raised not to speak badly of authority figures, so you don't bring up that little tidbit. "They're all nice, they just... can't talk to people. Or each other." It's all a disaster in the making, really.
Saito-san doesn't respond to this. In part, you think, because Koromaru runs over to you, begging to be pet, and why would you ever deny him?
When you go back to your dormitory at the end of the day, though... that's when everything starts to change, just a little bit faster than it already is. You don't notice, at first, because the goings-on of the adults is not something you put a lot of thought to, but there's something amiss about dorm life, just a little.
You can't really ask anyone what the change is, because adults don't pay attention to you and other kids think you're weird, but you can tell it exists, and so you listen. Listen to the dorm mother talking about you on the phone- though you don't know who it is, because you can't get quite that close, to make out much more than your name.
You also have a new chair now, but you aren't entirely sure how to feel about that. It's honestly strange, to have it here now. Not so much that you'd blow the new one up or anything, but... enough.
You don't know why, but things are different. And you've gotten used to the world not being quite what you'd thought it to be, but this is something to do with you. You think you'd want to know that kind of thing.
[ ] Investigate! Be like a cool secret agent. Eavesdrop on phone calls. Risk getting caught.
[ ] ...Okay, if this is to do with you, it couldn't hurt to ask, right? Surely they can't ignore you when you're apparently part of it.
[ ] Ignore it. If it's important, you'll find out eventually.
