There must be a way to herd or corral them. How else did Dementors get sent to be Prison Wardens?

Actually, when we call Nally we shouldn't have her take the Slytherins and then get a professor to call the Aurors.

Edit: Wait, a minute what if... we tried and talk to the Dementor? And this would allow the Slytherins to run away can call for help, either by a professor who didn't go to the game or Nally.

If the above is not a hallucination of our ancestor then perhaps we can talk? I mean, if nothing else then how did Voldemort control the Dementors?

Voldemort asks them to join. Imply they know speech, can be reasoned with and could use friendship if easily swayed by the first Dark Lord who talks with them.

You know I hope this incident give Jacob enough motivation to learn the Patronus charm.

I wonder which animal will our corporeal Patronus will be though, a wolf seems like the obvious pick, but I think that @Tabula Rasa will try to surprise us with it.

That seems a bit too hyperfocused. Things will always come up to study that we need actions for. Like Protego and Expelliarmus. They aren't needed for our final exams but we want them in order to be better at dueling and defending ourselves. Just once more for DADA, Charms, and Transfiguration and we are good for the remainder of the year. Then we can focus on other subjects and spells.

Yeah no. There's a goddamned reason why Voldemort was able to talk to them. Because he was as twisted and evil as they are. All they care for is food and Voldemort would let them roam free, unlike the Magic Council which confine them to one place. Seriously don't think for a goddamned moment we can talk to these monsters.

Eh I tend to focus on things yes. Besides technically DADA, Charms, and Transfiguration are already high as they need to be now.

Well my idea hinges on nothing replacing the Hogwarts hidden pathways. So we'll just have to wait and see.

I think it's a valid idea. Our wands nature states an openness of mind and reacts poorly to narrow-minded and baseless intolerance.

Then there's the fact we recently had our minds opened by our ancestor which granted us a point to legilimency. Something which could make communication easier.

And despite being creatures of darkness, they might detest their current living conditions, so Voldemort's off to rampage looks incredible. After all we don't fault fire for being hot, or Remus being a werewolf.

There's a difference between open mindedness and trying to befriend Dementors. It is a Dementor's nature to prey upon the positive emotions and memories of a person. Until they become miserable evil shells with no good memories like themselves. To fend off a Dementor you need to use a Patronus charm, be extremely happy to the point no negative memory can bring you down, or be extremely skilled in Occlumancy. We have none of that. Communication is impossible at this moment. Besides they may just kiss us if we're not careful. Do not misunderstand, they do not work for the Ministry willingly. They will join anyone that offers them the ability to rampage. They are gluttonous creatures that only desire to constantly feed.
