I'm for Hephaestus. Demeter can go fuck herself, she's the reason our city died. Trying to honor her now would be to spit in the face of the one god who's actually had our backs.Time to bring that ASWAH cooperative magic into play folks. What are your thoughts?
Me, I'm liking
[] [Leader] Oikonomos Isidoros
The keeper of the palace under the late king. An old man by the measure of his peers, though still strong and with a wise mind. Few knew him that well, for he was a recluse, but a well-learned man with a knack to organize things.
Because we're going to need someone with a knack for logistics and organization in the coming days, not tactics. Building up a newborn city state is tough, and administrative and bureaucratic power is the way to go I feel. When we have our feet under us again, then we could see about pushing a tactician (though preferably a strategist) on top for a good clean genocide of the surrounding critters (assuming they are hostile).
Building:
I'm partial to a temple for Hephaestus. Predictably enough he was the only god having our backs during the fall of our civ, and feeding him with worship will pay serious dividends in time with grand works, forges, and perhaps even sentient/semi sentient constructs made of bronze and silver. Giving him a temple as our first action here would be a powerful statement and hopefully a first step in the long road towards bronzepunk tech... though I'm a bit biased because I like his themes a lot.
I'm not inclined to build a temple for Demeter. She's half the reason three quarters of our civ is dead. Building a temple for her is like shitting on all our people have endured up till now and leaves a bad taste in my mouth... There is of course the little fact that... well, that whole agriculture as the basis for civilization stuff. Maybe we should ask Hephaestus for some greenhouses
Palisade seems like the obvious option though, the woods are dark and full of critters we don't know how to fight, so building one is common sense. I'd back that if we went with a Temple for He-man after that.
As for exploration, forests (for potential enemies and that all important timber) and mountains (please let there be tin, please let there be tin, please let there be glorious amounts of TIN) seem like good options, though someone could have good reasons for exploring the shores.
I'd take the young one as leader and keep the two elders as advisors.
[X] [Leader] Oikonomos Isidoros
[X] [Construction] Temple of Hephaestus
[X] [Exploration] Explore the land. (Pick up to 2)
-[X] The forests around the hills.
-[X] The shore to the south.
Want the logistics guy, want to honor god that isn't the biggest jerk and stuck with us, and think important to scout out local source of wood and fish.
I'd take the young one as leader and keep the two elders as advisors.
Age might matter in the long-term, but right now it's more a indicator of their personality.I'm not sure the age matters much, in gameplay terms. Right @Azel ? In terms of both narrative and gameplay effects all three leaders should steer our nation in roughly the same magnitude right? (not the same direction obviously)
@DragonParadox and/or @Azel correct me if wrong but Supplies counts as food right? Would that be consumed a bit if we don't choose farms so won't risk people dying of little food?Starting Resources for Exiles: Population 15, Supplies 15, Wealth 10, 3x Galley-Squadron, 2x Sailors-Unit, 2x Infantry-Unit, 2x Archer-Unit

Seems the bigger problem would be other gods stopping from stomping us, because they liked the Thebans.@Azel if we ever manage to sack or raze Thebes will we get some big reward for it? Maybe Hephaestus sending us neat artifacts for a job well done?
You can certainly ask for one. Rule of thumb is that the gods are extremely vain, so they tend to reward blatant pandering and ego-stroking.@Azel if we ever manage to sack or raze Thebes will we get some big reward for it? Maybe Hephaestus sending us neat artifacts for a job well done?
You have a very general outline of the area, but due to inclement weather and the fleet being leery of approaching the shore too closely, you still need to explore it in depth. The southern shore should be somewhat known to us, considering that we just came from that direction up the river
We need a professional ego-stroker.You can certainly ask for one. Rule of thumb is that the gods are extremely vain, so they tend to reward blatant pandering and ego-stroking.
You've still got a gaggle of priests from all the major gods or at least decently learned people who can act as priests. We need a professional ego-stroker.
Did any of the Hephaestus priests survive, @Azel? Or do we have to get new ones?
I refuse to call them anything other than professional ego-strokers now. You've still got a gaggle of priests from all the major gods or at least decently learned people who can act as priests.
Incidentally, professional ego-stroker is the job description of a priest.
Mission Goal: Kill the GodsYou can certainly ask for one. Rule of thumb is that the gods are extremely vain, so they tend to reward blatant pandering and ego-stroking.
