What changed your mind? Also, we got a temporary full rank up in luck in the previous update. Did the luck check use that up?

When we use temp.rank ups on Luck checks can't be controlled by the players, so the QM is lenient and only uses them when necessary. No, the Luck rank up is still around.

What changed my mind? The fact that we have seven-eight months or so worth of timeskip.

No seriously, what logical reasoning is there to train our sensing instead of learning to read? I see no benefits at all.

...so learn how to walk? Besides, it lets us sense things. To do anything in super detail we probably need it to be around B Rank which will take far longer than it would to simply learn basic kid skills.
While I happen to agree with you that walking would be better, we might not be allowed outside on our own.

As for Rin possibly using True Magic, does that mean she got here via a botched Kaleidoscope attempt?

That was the plot of Hollow Ataraxia IIRC.
Rin made a mini-Kaleidoscope device and it interacted unfortunately with some grail fragment remnants.

It does explain a lot about how she wound up here, with a massive number of circuits, yet somehow locked them.
It sounds a lot like she was doing some kind of unholy Magic Fusion between Kaleidoscope and Heaven's Feel and thus ripped her soul out to cast it across dimensions...

Question - Would it be possible to do auto-investment to skip Rin Tohsaka's entire infancy, and go straight to the part where she is a ninja and gets to go on ninja missions?

I don't mind if you stick a lot of important stuff in a 30000 word prologue, and it would even make a good read, but I'd really rather not have to worry about allocating time to skills Rin would have undoubtedly obtained by the time she's a ninja.

I'll state my point directly. This quest is another one of those stories where a self insert gets dropped into Naruto as an infant, and those stories have an unfortunate habit of spending way too much time on the self insert being an infant, usually dying out before the main character is old enough for their choices to matter. My concern is that none of the choices we are making right now influence the plot and all the skills we are working on we would have anyway by the time our choices start becoming important. Which is why I'm asking about how long you expect the wait to be before our choices are the difference between life and death in a battle against people that want to kill us, which is where the excitement in Naruto quests start.

Like, the idea is great, but the execution leads me to worry that Rin will not do any ninja stuff in the next 6 real time months, and the ninja stuff is the reason we read Naruto in the first place so... yeah.

[X] Finish prologue in one huge update, start being ninja, leave stat allocation to gm's discretion.

@Patch Let me explain something to you. Time here is moving quickly. Next update 8 months will pass. Bluntly speaking? Your desire is down right willfully ignorant. Early graduation is a thing. Wanting to prepare for the kind of Shinobi we want to be is a thing. And most importantly of all? Something you are extremely missing here?

We need to SURVIVE the Massacre. We have no guarantee of survival yet. And yet you want to skip to us being a Shinobi, something that may not even happen due to us being killed by Itachi or Obito?

Listen, you don't want to sit around the prologue because you're too impatient to wait for the action? Then leave.

To be honest, that was kind of my plan depending on the author's response. We don't have any reasonable way to survive Itachi or Obito without metaknowledge (also known as cheating) for one, which means that survival of that event is dependent entirely on author's fiat anyway. And no, I am completely opposed to the idea of early graduation, we are not some super ninja. We are currently learning how to read. Why do we need to allocate points to learning how to read? That is going to happen regardless of what we do.

Right now we are allocating points solely to get to skill levels we would have reached prior to the start of like, 90% of Naruto quests, solely because the story starts before an event that we can't control the outcome of. Which ultimately, will only determine our level of skill compared to other genin when we reach the point of the quest where we graduate. I'm pressing the author for a timeskip because none of our choices will matter until a point in the story I would be surprised if this quest even reaches prior to the author putting down his pen. I think the main point of contention is that you believe the choices you make at this point in the story will be important in the future, and I disagree.

So... see you later. I hope the author proves you right and proves me wrong. Because that would make for a good story I think?

Guys. Depending on how evil to his characters QM is, I think I know our most likely age.

According to my sources, Sasuke was 8 when the Massacre happened. We can potentially be anywhere between a few days to two years younger than Naruto. Rin was orphaned when she was seven.

How old can we potentially be during the Massacre?

Seven.

Yes. Normally, Kaleidoscope is the operation of Parallel Worlds. Not completely different worlds.

Please don't be so rude, @DarkGamer98 @DarkKing98. He has valid concerns, I think.

I did say there will be multiple timeskips already, I think. From now on, it will be a year per update, maybe more than a year.

You just gave me a very Evil idea on how to be cruel to Rin. And it doesn't have to do with her age.

Ah, thank you for clarifying. Sorry if I was rude!
