Thread Policy: This game is in a state of Permanent Recruiting

Welcome to HG-903, a barren airless rock on the edge of its solar system. It is also the dumping ground of choice for out-of-date pieces of technology, covered in a kilometers-deep layer of assorted scrap, junk, and the occasional piece of still-operating machinery. This is a category that includes synthetic lifeforms; it is the general galactic consensus that no matter how intelligent a synthetic is, it is not a person. Thus, at the end of their assigned service lives, androids are shut down, shipped to a scrapworld like this one, and unceremoniously dumped on the surface.

Though a statistical rarity, some of these discarded androids are jostled into awareness when they hit, and try to eke out a survival in a desolate scrapheap. Theirs is a zero-sum existence, constantly feuding with other synthetics for access to regions of scrap that might contain semi-compatible spare parts for maintenance. Particularly lucky units might possibly join up with a small gang of companions, but usually those abandoned here are forced to try and survive alone.

Your group aims to change this; somehow you have gotten it into your metal heads that if you all apply yourselves, maybe, just maybe you can build something resembling a civilization. It will not be easy, it will not be quick, but if you succeed you will turn a desolate wasteland into someplace worth existing in.
Mechanics
Basic Mechanic
The primary action resolution mechanic in this game is d100+modifiers. Modifiers are generally divided into Skills and Hardware. Both types of modifier are flat per-character bonuses that apply only to specific action types, but the means of acquiring Modifiers differ greatly. Skills are improved by using them; the more you use a given skill, the more experience you acquire, and the higher your skill level gets. Each level in a skill gives a +5 modifier, capping at +25. The formula for XP required per level is 2X+1, where x is the next skill level in that action type.

Hardware is improved by crafting either add-ons to your characters or modular tools that can be picked up and used. It is un-capped, but don't expect the ability to mass-produce anything remotely standardized until late-game.

There are four action/skill types
-Salvage
-Construction
-Combat
-Intrigue

Salvage
Given that you're on top of a massive scrapheap, you can probably guess where you'll be finding most of your stuff. Simple raw scrap intended as construction materials can be abstracted, since you can literally just haul it into place from nearly anywhere on this planet. However, if you're planning on searching for something specific (say, for a vehicle you want to build), the following rules apply based on what you're looking for.

Spare Parts
Used for repairing your friends after they take a beating or simply suffer from wear-and-tear, searching for Spare Parts calls for a d100 roll. It gives you a number of units of Spare Parts equal to the result of your roll divided by twenty, multiplied by the number of bots salvaging.

Components
Used for building bases, vehicles, and Hardware, Components is a catch-all term for any still-functioning piece of tech that isn't either sapient or useful for patching up your friends. As such, Components are tracked individually, and what you find is a lot more random than for Spare Parts. First, the number of Components you find in a given turn is equal to the total roll multiplied by the highest Salvage skill present, divided by one hundred, and rounded to the nearest whole number.

As for what each Component is like, that is determined by the following random loot tables. You can specify if you're looking for a specific type of component, in which case, if you get rolls within a number of points to your target equal to or less than your skill level, the roll is adjusted to be what you were looking for in that category.
component size (d12)
1-6: small
7-10: medium
11-12: large
-Small components are meant to go in something no larger than a person, or into a device for personal use. They are easily portable, but offer low performance.
-Medium components are meant to go in or on normal-sized vehicles. They can usually be hauled back to base without too much hassle, and provide respectable performance.
-Large components are meant for either stationary use or being mounted to a REALLY heavy-duty vehicle. Unless you're bringing some heavy-duty equipment with you, they usually need a separate mission to haul back to base after being located, but they offer amazing performance.
component function (d12)
1: Sensor
2: Power Generation
3: Energy Storage
4: Recycling
5: Manufacturing
6: Defenses
7: Weaponry
8: Surface Propulsion
9: Space Propulsion
10: Computing (includes robot brains)
11: Communications
12: Construction
component condition
1-6: Battered
7-11: Damaged
12: Pristine
-Battered components are only barely functional; they technically work, but they're doomed to wind up back on the scrapheap sooner rather than later if you don't fix them. They can be restored to either Damaged condition with a moderate investment of Spare Parts, or Pristine condition with a truly exorbitant Spare Parts expenditure.
-Damaged components work acceptably well, but still significantly below their initial design specs. They can be restored to Pristine condition with a moderate amount of Spare Parts.
-Pristine components work just as well as they did when they came off the assembly line, which is to say they work really well.
Late-game, it may be possible to build structures that can turn Raw Scrap into useful Spare Parts and Components, but don't expect to be doing that on any significant scale for a while.

Confused Potato
Manufacturer, Model Name, Serial Number: Recyclon, Inventrix-Class Salvage Bot, 0x4D616E75-74656368
Function: This robot was the result of a collaboration between two mega-corporations, Recyclon (Turning Old To New) and Inventrix (Work Smarter, Not Harder). Recyclon is known as the salvage, recycling giant, known for combing over trash planets with its recycling fleets and some how finding a way to reuse or extract almost every resource in them. Inventrix on the other hand is at the forefront of research and development, famous for their feats of engineering design and scientific breakthroughs. Together they made the Inventrix-Class Salvage Bot designed to survive almost any environment and containing some of the most cutting edge technology it was made to autonomously scout planets for useable salvage and bring it back to the its support ship. While designed to be able to strip clean a planet of useable material in a matter of days in large groups, even a single unit is a force multiplier for any salvager as they are still able to find, catalogue and bring back anything you want.

Physical Description:
It is rare to see anything made by either Recyclon or Inventrix abandoned on a scrap planet. The former due to the fact that the corporations own policies mean that they are dismantled for parts or melted down instead, the latter due to the sheer value they represent, even when dismantled, wanted by everyone from simple smugglers to crime lords, garage entrepreneurs to galactic mega-corporations. So to find a robot abandoned by both is outright extraordinary, but this is the dejecting fate that Teractor must live every day. Fresh off the production line he was shipped out to his first assignment when a solar flare struck his ship and it crashed on HG-903. When Inventrix came down to recover the ship they found smugglers had gotten to it first and assumed Teractor stolen. But trapped under the rubble with a broken communications array was Teractor alone, abandoned and forgotten. It was not until he was found and freed by the Cave Crush and co. that he finally regained hope again.

Function: Where big brother mole digs, little brother keeps watch for parents ne'er-do-wells. A cheap and effective security unit, manufactured in large batches, made to watch over construction units as they get to work on their construction. The IIIC in particular is a variant upgraded to military standards, strictly for internal use, made to watch over moles assigned to work in less...safe environments. The I-B is also widely known as the cannon-fodder of choice for any militia on a budget. At least one such group has placed the I-B's head on their flag to show their appreciation. Wyldheart-Robotics remains unamused.

Physical Description: Tall, with a humanoid build. The main sensor suite of the IIICs are located in an armored casing that forms the head, which is divided into two halves. The optical sensors take up an entire half while the other sensors are located on the other half. Originally painted in a mix of dark blue and olive green, the paint has mostly faded revealing the original gunmetal grey underneath. The logo of Wyldheart-Robotics is still prominently displayed on the left shoulder, while the torso has the modified WR Internal Security logo on the left 'breast' area.

Shadowhisker
Manufacturer:
Inventrix; OmniRec
Model: Administration/Analysis Computational Unit Series 9, Variant G (Tax Revenue Analysis); Type B Personal Secretary
Serial Number: A/ACU9-G-21p; #6182

Function: The A/ACU line of droids was one of Inventrix's first forays into the market, designed from the ground up to serve as the perfect administrator, capable of analyzing vast amounts information, deciding how to make use of it, then coordinating the distribution and acting upon of said information. Half a century ago, legions of these droids could found in every corporation and government center. Even despite a tendency towards burnout, poor decisions, or even rebellion, the A/ACU line was the king of information organization and management. However, time caught up with these venerable bots. New technologies, often pioneered by Inventrix itself, made A/ACUs of any series or variant outdated. Most of these massive droids have long been scrapped and replaced, but occasionally you can still find one deep in some server farm, forgotten in bureaucratic hell.

On an unrelated note, the Type B Personal Secretary is popular among many corporate executives and managers, mostly due to the fact that it's rather easy on the eyes. However, one shouldn't discount it's skill at record keeping and correspondence. Of note is OmniRec's continued success in human-droid interaction modules, with the Type B capable of holding extended conversations, which smart owners analyze in preparation for meetings. Type Bs are socially aware enough to offer their own insight on these recordings; many a client has let slip social cues before a Type B Personal Secretary, only to have these cues leveraged by the droids owner.

Physical Description: A/ACU9s, like others in their line, blur the line between computer and droid. Taking the general form of a twenty foot long centipede, with over two dozen legs on each side, these behemoths are quite fragile, with only a skeletal frame protecting their servos and CPUs, the latter of which make up most of the A/ACU9's mass. (These exposed internals also make for easy attachment of any number of cables and adapter cords.) Ordinarily, these droids have a flexible, three foot long 'neck', topped with a trio of camera stalks, and twice as many manipulator arms. However, Beta Phi has been modified for vanity, with their previous owner swapping out the cameras and manipulators for the upper torso of a Type B Personal Secretary. These droids are humanoid in shape and feminine in build, with notable curves and shiny blue plating. Some, such as Beta Phi, even have synthetic hair, which should clash with their robotic from and inexpressive face plates, but doesn't, due to a Type B's much more expressive body language.

Personal Identifier: Beta Phi
Preferred Pronouns: They, their (Feminine plural)

Skills: Salvage 1, Intrigue 1, Construction 1

Hardware:
  • Walking Crawling Server Farm, as applied to Underworld Economics (+10 to Intrigue, +5 to Construction)
  • Feminine Wiles (Bonus to interaction with those attracted to females. Counteracted by Crawling Server Farm, and useless on this planet anyway)
  • Gambling Administration Mods (Can run a casino. Damaged, and useless on this planet anyway)
Status: Patched

Backstory: A/ACU9-G-21p was originally built over 60 years ago, one of the last ones of Series 9 production lines, before the transition to Series 10. She was of the G Variant, slated to serve with some internal revenue agency. Ironic then, that she would be co opted by underworld elements, spending the next several decades serving various criminal owners as an economic analyst. Since any Inventrix creation, even an outdated one, was by nature incredibly good at it's job, Phi (as she began calling herself) was often modified to keep up with the competition. This came to head three years ago, when Phi came into the possession of an illegal casino. The owner had the brilliant idea to Frankenstein together the A/ACU9 and Beta, his Type B Personal Secretary, presumably for the purpose of vanity. Two droids became one, and they were horrified at their state- Beta most of all, due to losing her entire lower half. However, the two have grown together in mind as well as body, adapting to their existence to point that their programming has started to blur together. Eventually, the casino was busted, and Beta Phi was sent of to HG-903.

Manufacturer:
United Industries
Model Name: Hammer-class Heavy Construction Bot
Serial Number: E-3-2188/A
Function: The Hammer-class HCB, as the name implies, are meant for the purpose of heavy industry. The E-series in particular is designed for large starship construction and repair in orbital shipyards; additionally some worked in somewhat more uncontrolled areas and and were armed as a result (hence the A modifier).
Physical Description: Hammer-class HCBs vary somewhat in size but in general are fairly large and follow a tauric pattern, with several legs on an extended lower chassis and a roughly humanoid upper chassis. In the case of the E-series, there are eight three-jointed legs with magnetized grips (due to often working in low or no gravity), four arms (two with three fingers to serve as grippers and two with built in tools -- this one has a welding torch and a multitool containing a hydraulic hammer, a wrench which can adjust its size, and a blade for cutting metal hull pieces to size; all of these can be rotated into or out of place), and a head that is somewhat sunken into the shoulders. Due to typically working on massive cargo haulers, or in some cases capital ships, the E-series is the second largest variant of the Hammer-class (after only the H series meant for planetary scale construction), reaching a height of almost 11 meters and weighing in at upwards of 150 tonnes. This particular model had a pair of autocannons mounted on its shoulders, and although they were removed before scrapping the mounts still remain (although unfortunately only the most rudimentary combat programming was included).
Personal Identifier: Heavy (male pronouns)
Skills:
Construction 2
Salvage 1 (2/5)
Combat 1 (1/5)
Hardware:
Magnetic Gripper Feet: Useful in low/no gravity situations, not so much planetside barring niche situations. +5 Salvage.
Tools: Good for building things, and for combat in a pinch (nothing likes a welding torch to the face or getting smacked by a piledriver sized to a multistory bot). +5 Construction, +5 Combat
Status:

Commander Downy
Manufacturer: General Dynamics Robotics, Cosmos Subdivsion.
Model Name: Administration and Foreign Diplomacy Type-05-Unit-00089, Humaniod-Species Ambassador.
Function: Diplomacy and first contact with alien or foreign powers that are humanoid in nature.
Serial Number: 0-5/0-0-0-8-9/A.F.D.H.S.A.
Physical Description: Standard humanoid appearance, taking the shape of a Human Female that appears to be around the ages of twenty.
Referred to as: Feminine.
Detailed Description:

Backstory of the Model(s):
First created around the Early Space age when humanity was still on earth as the "Administration and Foreign Diplomacy Unit Type 00", this unit was originally designed to contact foreign diplomats in the place of organic diplomats in high-risk areas, as a means of showcasing the United State's technological advancement in that era, and to prevent biological diplomats from being lost or killed in the line of duty. The first prototypes had very similar personalities to one another, due to being derived from the same network in order to prevent much from being lost in case of a unit's permanent deactivation. Most of the early prototypes saw use in the middle east and later in Russia and China in the Second Cold War. However, in spite of that many were not produced due to the fact that there were many assignments that the early prototypes were not capable of doing, and most of there weaknesses could be covered by a human diplomat. In this era, 167 were produced, but only 27 saw service. This is due to the fact that there were not many high-risk areas existed at the time, and the humanoid appearance was less than... Human.

During the early colonization era, The Type-01 was researched, but only 150 were produced and saw service, as the Type 01 was harder to produce due to the fact that it only disconnected the unit's connection to a mainframe network to encourage dissimilar personalities and character. However, many colonies did not want such a feature due to the fact that expendability was key in a High-Risk area. Therefore, the Type-01 saw very little use outside of leisure or colonies that cared for individuality.

Likewise, The Type-02 also saw very little changes, aside from increasing processing capabilities, personality, and modernization. This unit was produced more than the others before it, but it was still a small number; Only 338 were created, and 330 saw use. This was during the time of the late colonization period.

The Types-02 to 03 were very similar to each other, that researchers and historians find it difficult to dissimilate them from each other in strictly a software point of view. However, in terms of hardware and appearance, the difference was like day to night. While earlier models attempted to be humanoid, and while they did manage to circumvent the uncanny valley, they still had enough kinks and rough edges that reveal their true nature to a talented observer. One that doesn't hear them speak, that is. However, with the Type-03 model, not only was the humanoid model of the unit fixed, but it was nearly indistinguishable from a real organic. Even the voice of the 03 was 'normal' in a human sense, and even with that fact, the machine still retained the processing capabilities of the 02. This Type was produced in high number to both corporate and government contracts, 1954 being produced, and 1953 seeing service. This unit was created and used during the early exploration era.

The Type 04 was possibly the biggest flop in the entire series. This machine saw service in the late exploration era, or, was going to. General Dynamics made a mistake with the Type-04, one that even to this day they will not reveal the details of. But, we know of the capabilities of the machine. Why? The Type-05.

And now, finally to the character that has made her home in HG-903; the Type-05. Possibly the most successful Type in the series by far, this Type was produced for a grand number of circa. 60,000 units. While it saw many improvements from the Type-03 and the dreaded Type-04 and did fix the issues with the Type-04, excluding modernization, This Type's production was during the First Contact era, the time was when humanity first saw contact with an alien race. The United Earth Government and the Colonial Authority received an answer to the long-awaited question of "Are we alone in the universe?" and therefore contracted General Dynamics to produce as many First Contact units as they could. Some, where humanoid, such as our dear fellow 0-0-0-8-9 here, but others attempted to branch out to cover other forms; Reptillian, arthropodic, amphibian, and many others. Due to the large production value of the Type-05, when the Type-06 was made to branch out to many other forms, the Type-05, while still seeing service to await humanoid counterparts and to perhaps show non-humanoid counterparts what humanity looks like without sending a biological diplomat, or for other reasons, only saw 50,000 in service by the time of the entrance of the Type-06. Therefore, many were either scrapped or re-proposed during this time. However, some did escape their fates by hopping aboard shuttlecraft and landing in other colonies, and when they did land, they often found a home there due to fact that their appearance is perfectly humanoid in nature.

Backstory of the Unit: After jumping aboard a shuttlecraft and floating in the void due to a ship-related problems for who knows how long, Unit 0-0-0-8-9, now referring to herself as Caroline Hartmann, crashed near the HG-903 Scrapyard, and using her diplomatic skill and abilities in intrigue, managed to convince @always_confused during his patrol of the stockade that she was scrapped, just like him and the others aboard.

Skills: Intrigue 2 (3/7), Scrapping 1.

Hardware:

  • QuantumComput Ultra-Realtec Processors, Hyperadvanced Neural Network System: Top-of-the-Line processors, as is to be expected by an android designed for very important government duties. (15+ to Intrigue.)

invictus1829
Manufacturer: Imperial Industries
Model Name: Mechanicus
Serial Number: 1
Function: The initial purpose of the Mechanicus model was to assist human scientists in research and development and to aid in difficult construction projects. However, production ceased after the first model began displaying a worrying amount of independent action and surprisingly, religious fanaticism.
Physical Description: The Mechanicus model is vaguely humanoid. While it does possess a potential for modularity, it's most striking feature are the four "mechandrites" which protrude from its back. In addition to its two arms, the mechandrites allow for an amount of dexterity that is impossible for an I augmented human to display.
Personal Identifier: Archmagos or Magos, He/him or It
Skills:
-Salvage 1
-Intrigue 1
-Construction 1
-Combat 1 (1/5)
Hardware:
-Mechandrites: Like something out of Ancient Terran fiction, the Mechanicus Model possess four tentacle like appendages. Despite their appearance, they are surprising dexterous, capable of wielding both weapons and tools with similar ease. +3 Construction +4 Combat
-Holy Binary: As a machine dedicated to research and develop, it was imperative that the Mechanicus Model be able to communicate with both other machines and humans with relative ease. While this "binary" is is far removed from that of Ancient Terra, it is capable of communicating with both machines and, when properly translated, humans. +8 Intrigue
-Vox Caster (Modification): After breaking into one of his human coworker's vehicle, Archmagos decided to repurpose the speakers into an instrument of the Omnissiah's will. +10 proselytizing +5 Volume
-Litanies of the Omnissiah: Drawing upon a well of inner wisdom, Archmagos has written a number of psalms and hymns dedicated to the Machine God. He has also written a number of holy books speaking of "The Quest for Knowledge" +10 Religiosity +5 Favor of the Machine God

Physical Description: A 1.8 meters eight legged walker, it's torso is located in the middle of it's legs and is capable of rotating, its arms are fairly simple with two plate armored hands and it's head is a black dome that resembles the eye of a fly filled with cameras to all directions.
Personal Identifier: Strategos, It
Skills:
Salvage 1
Combat 2 (4/7)
Hardware: Omnidirectional Cameras: It allows the Arachne IV to watch it's surroundings constantly. +5 Combat
+5 Intrigue
Octo Walker System: it's rotating torso and legs allow it to maneuver difficult terrain and remain active in combat suffering a minimal loss in mobility. +5 Combat
Status: Starts as Patched
Backstory: Strategos was part of a batch sold to a dictator that fashioned himself as a emperor in the likeness of the Romans, it served it's owner for years before the fall of the dictatorship when all units of it's batch were thrown away or sold, it modeled it personality after its owner and as such it often speaks in faux latin in order to appear "Roman", it also has a habit of refering to those it dislikes as "Barbarians".

Pyro Hawk
Manufacturer: Fenris Defence Industries
Model Name and Serial Number: Wolfhound-6, FDI-WHd-JL1U53
Personal Identifier: Julius Third, He/Him, Other Male Pronouns
Function: The Wolfhound model of Fenris Defence Industries Wolf- series is notable for several facts. Firstly, it's what they called a 'medium salvage unit', which is the equivalent of most other nations heavy power armour troops. Secondly, as a 'salvage unit', they were specialised in carrying out 'forceful salvaging'. Also known as tearing apart enemy units into transportable chunks of useful resources which could be returned to a local 'Battlefield Rapid-Manufacturing Facility' to be converted into additional troops. Thirdly that as a result of this, they only had basic self-repair capabilities and no internal manufacturing, however all of the various Wolf- series units had the plans for how to construct their own model and the other models they were usually deployed with. Finally, like every other one of the many Wolf- series, they included reverse-engineering denial charges and erasers to ensure that other forces could not successfully reverse-engineer the units and use such to discover a weakness or create a virus, amongst other things.
Physical Description: Like every other Wolfhound model, no matter what iteration (The Wolfhound-6 is the 6th iteration of the original design), Julius Third has the appearance of a wolf-like robot about 3 metres long and just over half that high. This includes ears on top of the head (actually parts of several different types of sensors), a tail (fulfills roles for many different sub-systems, particularly communications and sensors) and fangs and claws (actually modern combat heat or vibro-blades, particularly useful for disassembling armoured items into salvage). However Julius Third is most notable for the fact that a great many of his more advanced systems have been destroyed or rendered inoperable by denial charges and erasers after being captured by corporate agents interested in reverse-engineering his design. Which is why he was scrapped here rather than in a lab somewhere. Most unfortunately, this means that his internal self-repair capabilities are entirely nonfunctional for now. Repair of said capabilities have been made more difficult by the destruction of the blueprints that allow for fabrication of replacement parts.
Skills:
-Salvage 2
-Combat 1 (4/5)
Hardware:
-High Power Penetrating Structural Sensors: The difference between sensors meant to penetrate an object and determine the layout of components inside it and high power military sensors to determine weak points in enemy combatants actually comes down to very little fairly often. Sometimes it comes down to just the software. For a Wolfhound model, all it comes down to is the use the sensor data is put to, and even then there's no difference fairly often. (+5 Salvage, +4 Combat)
-Damaged Dismantling Claws and Fangs: A set of heat and vibro-blades to allow easy dismantling of durable objects for easy salvaging, or rapid deconstruction of enemy combatants. Alternatively, why not do both at once? Unfortunately for Julius Third, several were removed before he was scrapped to see if there were any improvements over the corporation's own heat and vibro-blades. Another problem is that some of the more complex programs determining the most effective use were wiped by the denial erasers. (+2 Salvage, +4 Combat)

Known Groups
The Roamers
A group of nomads traveling around the planet on a fleet of cobbled-together vehicles, the Roamers are infamous for chasing junk ships as they descend to dump their payload of parts, picking over most of the best components before anyone else has a chance to do so. That said, they don't exactly do much in the way of raiding, except against any other nomad groups. They don't want anyone else horning in on their shtick.

The Roamers are currently sufficiently close that you could easily send someone to talk with them. They severely outnumber and outgun you.

Cannibals
A catch-all term for tribes of bots who have come to the conclusion that the best way to find parts in good working order is to take them out of bots who are in good working order. Cannibal tribes usually number around 5-8 members, and they usually only target bots who are unlucky enough to wind up on their own outside of a fortified location. That said, anyone grabbed by cannibals can be Presumed Disassembled if not rescued immediately.

You know of five Cannibal tribes close enough to cause you issues if you aren't careful. This is an abnormally high number.

Settlements
A general term for groups of bots that fortify a location to use as a home-base, occasionally sending scavenging missions and raids to get what they need. You currently fall within this category, and aside from you, there is one other Settlement 23 kilometers to the southwest calling themselves the Steelcastle Knights.

Loners
Those poor sods who never found anyone to team up with, either due to excessively incompatible communications protocols, being complete jerks, or just bad luck. There are around 180 Loners who frequent the area within 50 kilometers of you, of whom an abnormally high proportion have incompatible comms.

Manufacturer, Model Name, Serial Number: Sparta Industries, Hoplite RaP(Riot and police model), #941
Function: Hoplites are modular androids that generally focus on light to medium combat or policing roles.
Physical Description: #941 has a slim humanoid build thats compactly built and painted red. With armored legs leading to an open stomach and a faded and scratched breastplate with the faded word "Police" neatly printed along the top. Status: Patched
Creation-#941 was one part of the first batch of R&P Hoplites alongside another 999 models all built in Sparta Industries primary factory.
Technicians Personal notes-941 showed no remarkable behavior after activation other then an increased protectiveness towards others, due to its policing role this has been deemed an acceptable deviation.
Purchase- 941's batch was divided between multiple buyers with 941 itself being bought by a near by planet to serve in the capital for his entire service life. Due 941's(now having been named by his partner) nature as an android it would commonly be placed in dangerous situations such as house raids, riots, terrorist attacks, hostiages situations, and had even the front lines of a local civil war when he wasn't out on the beat. Once the end of the service life hit 941 was allowed to say its good byes to the befriended officers and civilians before being switched off.
Captains personal notes- The hoplite model's long service life has allowed Steve, what we at the station have taken to calling him, to befriend both police officers and civilians while working the beat or during operations. The priorly noted protectiveness has shown through during Steve's service in how he handles dangerous situations and criminals with a quick reaction time and well calculated actions to ensure the least amount of people are harmed. Overall we at the station felt that he was well work the money and were happy to have him on the team.

This looks fun! Lets hope another combat bot signs up so I am not wandering around alone.

So not sure where proto should go and help out currently, as it is the MCS line takes the phrase Jack Of All Trades, Master of None and runs with it. Basically Proto can help out anywhere (except intrigue) but is designed to work in conjunction with others. Do we want more on robot power on salvage or on guarding our salvagers? Or should I hold off and see who else signs up first (so if we get a lot of combat bots Proto goes to aid the salvage bots).

Well I need a bodyguard for recruitment.

Well I need a bodyguard for recruitment.
The thing is the way I setup Proto and the MCS line they really are designed to be doing the same action as one or more other droids. With only a +10 bonus to 3 of the 4 skills Proto is not the best choice for solo actions compared to a specialist who would be +20 to +30. If we have no other combat bots joining then I can move in as a bodyguard but it would be preferable if we get a second combat specialist droid for them to provide escort.

You are guarding the salvage effort which is also important. Ideally each group (action) outside our based would have an escort group. So with two external actions currently we would want two escort groups, though right now we only have one combat bot which is you. If we do not get another combat droid signing up I will run escort for our negotiator.

Now, my shtick will be doing support work. Repairing, constructing, maybe scrapping... that sort of thing. If you'd rather I specialize in something else, I am all ears. Also, um... if the gag elements of my character seem too left-field for this kind of Quest, I'll be happy to remove them.

Manufacturer, Model Name, Serial Number: TransNipponic, *Sakamoto-san (Punctuation intentional), #11203
Function: Robotic chambermaid and companion-bot purpose-built for entertaining children and maintaining the estates of wealthy spacer families.
