[X] Plan Ash Lizard
Volvagia, here we come.
Volvagia, here we come.
2 and 4 pleases me.
Stuff is always going to be happening in these games. AA type quests aren't exactly known for quiet periods. So advocating to not sleep while stuff is happening is basically advocating to just dump all our Faith and switch to Awe or Fear for legend spending.[X]Plan Advisor
[X] Inspire in Influence (Generates 2 Faith progress): 3 DE
-[X] Inspire An'Wah'Hei! (Who knows?)
Guys, can we not go to sleep right now? Stuff is happening right now, whether we like it or not. An'Wah'Ei is pretty much going to ascend anyway and if we sleep now, we let the other spirit have influence on him which we will be really bad for us if we get an avatar or not.
Let's Inspire him. We already know that this turn he wasn't able to get us our shrine because he was too busy. Let's give him the divine inspiration required to actually finish the work. He knows what we want, and he should realize that this is us helping him so he'll try to help us out by fulfilling our demands of more shrines. This'll increase our faith and other stats letting us sleep much less later.
Also, this'll definitely get us a lock as an adviser for him and who knows, if people start believing he's our avatar or something, we might even get stuff to prevent his ascension over us by empowering him as something other than mortal.
Thoughts?
Look, I'm not worried about his ascension. I know he was going to build a shrine for us, and generally be our faithful. The point is that he couldn't do that because he was busy. If we inspire him, we'll make him do all of his work faster and let him put up our shrines faster too. We'll also make sure that he knows it's because of us. This'll let us farm him for faith and shrines, while he's alive and not actively competing with us. This'll put us in a good position when he dies, and will make sure that we're a good ally to him.Stuff is always going to be happening in these games. As for Ari'See influencing him, this is not a problem for me because as she is a part of his kingdom now what benefits the kingdom benefits her which benefits us. And having at least nominal allies is good for us, since stuff like the spirit Ninjafish is playing exist. I'm also in the group of folks that don't actually wish to have a lead role in the Pantheon forming, which is a massive time sink we could spend on more useful stuff, and I have not seen anything convincing me otherwise.
Apparently he was going to build shrines for us anyway and in general has our interests at heart, since he is one of our faithful. He's got enough social fu that he stands a good chance of resisting efforts to change his mind, and so far we've been completely beneficial to him so logically he has no reason to antagonize us. Additionally influencing him to build the shrines will not bump us up to Faith 4 to my understanding on how stat exp works.
If people start believing he's our avatar, they are basically going to be feeding him far more Legend than they are now, which will actually speed up and empower the ascension you are worried about.
What?Hey, just fyi but [X] Plan Volcanic Ash has invalid legend expenditure. You atm have 20 legend. Ashform = 10, Earth = 5, Fire = 5 + 3 = 8. 10 + 5 + 8 = 23 > 20.
All Spirit of, Element of, etc's increase the price by 3 in horizontal categories of a similar purchase. Buy an aspect, all aspects when you wake up cost 8 not 5. This also applies vertically: Buy Element of Earth I, Element of Earth II costs 8 + 3*whatever # of other element II's you have. What?
Why are there added costs to the stuff? This was not in any memo.
Yeah, I agree he was busy. What I got from sidestory's little expose was that he was in part busy because we were bugging him with visions and stepped on our own toes a little.Look, I'm not worried about his ascension. Also you seem to be putting a lot of stock on An'Wah'Ei being loyal to us even if we sleep for several years, instead of the spirit he shares his bed with. The female spirit may be nice and think of us, but we haven't even talked to her yet. We have no idea how she is. At the end of the day, she's a rival spirit and we're competing over the limited people around us.
Basically, for me five turns is fine, seven is not. This is why I am okay with spreading it out, and don't give much of a care about 3 legend and some sleep. E2: An'wah being better than us is fine with me cause then we can hole up in our mage hole and poke at the inner workings of the universe unbothered. Mostly.Edit: Because this would save you 3 legend and possibly a turn or two of sleep, I recommend you buy both elements now and accept that An'Wei will be better than you.
Actually when we have a powerful hero with a strong grip on things is the perfect time to take a nap. Maybe not TOO long a nap or they'd start asking what we've done for them lately, but we can rest assured that if there is a problem that shows up, said problem runs into a Hero.[X]Plan Advisor

Same. Not very interested in obsessing over absolute legend efficiency.Basically, for me five turns is fine, seven is not. @King Tharassian this is very serious. If the thread does decide to do this we need a system and rules for how it works so it is not just torture and pain for the sake of it. I think such a thing can only be used in wartime to be ethically responsible and I think I just most likely broke you by being anti murder for once. Now if the thread does not want to do it no problem but if it does go that route careful thought and consideration must be put into itIf we are going to do blood sacrifice what should be the rules and laws for it? We need a organized system to make sure it does not get out of hand and fitting methods of ritualized murder.

Stop talking, you're heading into extremely contentious territory. So, I want to say right off the bat that I do not support human sacrifice.
That said, if we DO end up doing it, I agree that we need to come up with rules to make it minimally harmful. What if we only sacrifice suicidal people and other willing subjects? And, if we absolutely MUST do people other than that, newborn infants, since that's the point when they're the least of a "person", since their intelligence is very low and they don't really have an identity.

So become the nice old/mystical man/woman who lives in the proverbial attic and no one bothers kicking out because they're so gosh-darned good at helping out and solving complex problems?
I like this idea.
Glass, glaze, hell storms.
Is this an Ancestors thought, or just in general? Either way, it'd be a novel approach for an AA game
Spirit of the Ancestors: 8 Legend (+40% effectiveness of Loremaker actions) (Unlocked by Ancestor Shrine)
We can be the mage to Awawawaffle's warrior and Ari'see's druid.
Being a God of Death we should have multiple roles because what has been interpreted more then Death? What is Death to the warrior, the shaman, the father, the mother and the son and the daughter? To the young and the old, the angry and the sad? Is Death the terrible cataclysm or the quiet after, is Death a thousand butchering swords or the gentle final sleep that comes surrounded by loved ones? Is Death a terrible plague or a awful disaster? A accident of fate or purposeful murder? Is Death just or cruel, vicious or kind?Ancestors? I meant the fact that we don't have to be the head of the pantheon. We can be the King of the Underworld, the Dark Rider, the Turtle of Immortality, the Great Hungering Lizard, the Shadow-on-the-Mountain, God of Ash and Fire and Death, and still be a nice person who people feel they can rely upon.
We can be the mage to Awawawaffle's warrior and Ari'see's druid. We can be the sage in the cavern, the Old Man who gives strange children in floppy green hats useful things when it's dangerous to go alone. The scholar, the sage, the keeper of secrets.
We can be a spirit worthy of notice, and then a god worthy of respect and devotion.
Oh and what is the Dark Rider supposed to be in these long list of awesome titles that remind me of this?
