People from Atlas are kind of big on the gross invasion of privacy (reading Penny's chat logs, Weiss) and threatening people, aren't they?

I was kinda expecting this after the crit-fail, but it still sucks to get a lethal weapon pressed against us two days in a row. Jaune's probably going to be paranoid as hell for a while after this.

Do we actually know these people are Atlas IC? Think Penny may have mentioned being from Atlas, but that doesn't actually mean the people behind her belong to the SCD or those people.

My issue with the "bluffing" approach is that while I, personally, am unconvinced that the threat is real, whoever this is only has to convince Jaune it's real - and I think Ironwood or whoever won't have much trouble doing that.

Contacting Weiss is a good thought, but we don't actually know enough IC to know she has pull here. Wait until we know enough about Penny and her secret creators to justify it. (Also, OOC, whatever pull Weiss can do on short notice here isn't going to actually be sufficient for Ironwood's pet project. Better to use her help to pick up the pieces later.)

Also, I'm gonna assume Penny is still fucking with our scanning somehow, so don't rely on it too heavily in various plans.

Got any ideas on how to rephrase it then? Staying silent and trying to contact Weiss in the in-character desperate hope that she can do something to help?

Edit: Wait, there's someone else who could help us here. Penny! No matter what she's been forced into, there's no way she's going to let us be killed right in front of her.

From what the guy threatening us said, I gather that Penny was actually hiding from Atlas (and possibly from us too to avoid drawing us into a trap).

Bracket can communicate with penny or anyone else online at faster than thought speeds. Can we use that for anything, like messaging the cops?

I'm pretty sure that this operation isn't above board. Something like this could cause a massive scandal. I don't care how fancy and secret the robot is, no nation is going to allow these kinds of foreign operations that target civilians (which Jaune counts as he is not a hunter yet). And on atlases side this also makes no sense, no sane nation would risk relations with their biggest ally and trading partner by pulling shit like this. Especially as the robotics department of atlas is trying get vale as a customer for their combat robots. No one is going to want that if they are shown to use lethal forces readily.

Also lets get bracket to record the conversation. Let's find a way to give them the rope they need to hang themselves.

I wonder, would the police be a better bet than Weiss? I don't know enough of the setting to know what the police would do when they come across this scene.
In my home country they would arrest the guy with the gun, him being a soldier would just make it worse for him in the courtrooms...

I remember there being anti-atlas members of the council. They would Love a chance like this.

Edit: If we do this right we can make sure that atlas's murder bots aren't there during Salem's invasion.
