Maybe snark isn't the best option here. Does anyone have an alternative that isn't spilling our guts? I'd rather not tell Atlas that we have an AI.

Our Semblence is programming and they just shot any chance of getting someone who can create an entire OS rivaling modern works in under an hour to be friendly with them.

Or bits of that anyway, if you want to stay polite, but my general reaction to this entire thing is basically a calm stare followed by flipping the table because just fuck this shit.

Ciel Soleil would also be a terrific choice for the character threatening us. She seemed a little bit like a superspy so I can imagine her disguising her voice to confuse us. Atlas certainly has the tech to do that. It would also make muscleheads more to likely comply with this approach.

Ohhhh can you imagine Weiss seeing Jaune in this little pickle? That would be a delightful twist on this conflict.

Perhaps lie and tell them our semblance gave sentience to our flying blue sword? I'm not seeing much choice between lying or telling the truth.


I would be more for the truth if I knew who was threatening us and the chance of him telling his superiors.


Also, he doesn't seem to have thought this out. If he shoots us now, he just committed murder in a crowded street.

Edit: I was going to suggest namedropping Weiss or her bodyguard, but we don't actually know that these people are Atlas IC yet...

They have Penny's chat-log, and The Transistor identified itself as an AI when talking to Penny, so if we want to try and keep the actual identity of our Sword a secret... that's gonna be a tough sell.

Am I rather annoyed that Mr. Atlas man jumped straight to death-threats? Yes. Do I actually believe he'd actually go through with it while in a different Kingdom in a very public space? No.

I would like to tell him everything, if only to get the gun off our back, but I'd rather not give Atlas anything. Ironwood is good, but not everyone in Atlas is Ironwood.

They already now we have an AI, so we can at least say that much.
 
So perhaps if they ask about how we made an AI, we simply say that our semblance was the creation of the single AI, and now that's that. No reason to let him know our semblance is calculation and everything else it can let us do.


@Prok The update said the Cell is with us. Is it not doing anything because its scared? Or too risky with a gun pointed at systemadmin?

Ugh. What an asshole. I'm actually pretty tempted to Turn() and Jaunt(), just since he probably won't be willing to actually fire for effect into a crowd this dense. The main thing stopping me is that on the off chance he's crazy enough to do it, Jaune has to bear the guilt of the casualties.

The part that confuses me is how they spoofed our sensory suite. Nobody should even know how much bullshit there is to spoof AGAINST at this point, much less have an idea how to do so

I would normally have faith that Motormouth Jaune would deescalate this situation in a calm and concise manner, but everyone seems to be bandwagoning snark instead, so I guess I'll have to actually try to come up with a real plan.
