It's been a strange week, but I've finally got the update coming; expect it sometime tomorrow evening.

Evening Checkup
Man, this week was a pain. A bunch of stuff I had procrastinated on came to bite me in the rear, my poor sleeping habits came to bite me in the rear as well, I got mildly sick and missed a day of classes which set me back as well, and when I finally did have some free time and a semi-coherent head again, my muse chose to pester me into doing some 3D modeling and then starting another writing project I've been kicking around for a while.
So uh, what I'm saying is, sorry for the delay.

Though tempted to stick around, you decide that no, you've had enough excitement for the day as it is; you just want to get out of here. "Yeah, I'll go ahead and do that. Where can I find the hospital? I wanted to get my arm looked at." You show the wounds off, Waite wincing and Devora taking on a murderous expression.

"I'm going to kill her," she mutters, before regaining composure and giving you a sympathetic look. "The building just next door," she says, pointing at the east wall. "Esther should already be there; she usually takes stock of her supplies around this time. If not, come back and I can call for her." You nod, and head to the door, Yelena just behind you.

"I think I'll stay," Elaine decides, and waves the two of you goodbye before turning back to her papers.

Right as you reach for the doorknob, the front door opens outward. A rather tall, burly and bearded man is standing in your path, a sack slung over one shoulder. Glancing down at you with bemused surprise, he politely steps aside, and you quickly hurry past. "I swear they keep getting smaller every year," you hear him mutter, and then he heads in, something in his sack clinking as he does. You exchange confused glances with Yelena, but keep on course for the medical wing.

While the outside is more along the lines of the rest of the base, rugged and wooden; the inside is sterile and clean white walls and tile flooring in a checkerboard pattern. It's all one big room, with four beds lined up along one wall, and a long countertop with overhead cabinets on the opposite side. As Devora said, there's a woman already here, checking through the cabinets and writing something down on a clipboard. She towers over you much like everyone else you've run into here, but she's at least on the shorter end of the spectrum. Her messy light brown hair is draped down over her shoulder in a loose braid, blending into her skin, which is a similarly dark shade as Nasira's. And she's wearing a white labcoat and rubber gloves, but over a long maroon strapless dress with an uncomfortably low neckline; sending decidedly... mixed signals.

Still, she seems professional enough as she inspects whatever's in the cabinets, and you hesitate to interrupt her work. Once she's finished with the shelf she was examining and has closed the cabinet door, you finally speak up. "Uh, hello."

"Eeep!" It seems it's a good thing you waited, because she instantly shoots a foot in the air, dropping her clipboard and clutching both hands to her chest as she stares at you, wide-eyed. "I'm sorry, I didn't even see you there!" It takes a moment for her to slow her breathing, but finally she straightens up once again, smiling as she reclaims her instrument and flips to a new page. "My apologies, I'm a bit easily startled. Obviously, e-heheheh. I wasn't expecting anybody tonight." She gives you an appraising stare, chewing on the end of her pen and tilting her head to the side. "Let me guess. Polinski, and... Klementia? My name is Esther Sadik. How can I help you?"

How can she help you?
> Ask how she knows your names already
> Tell her about your arm
> Tell her about your ears
> Tell her about both
> Ask Yelena why she's hiding behind you

[X] Tell her about both

Are we "Too tired for this shit" yet? The dialogue implied we were heading there, so wondering if we should bother to care about her hiding behind us or the lady knowing our names.

I added Esther to the character sheet.

Definitely getting there, it would seem. Alexandra is the players is Alexandra, so given the conversation last page, I figured it would make sense for her attitude toward present events to reflect that.

[X] Tell her about both

Yelena and Esther can work out their tension on their own. :p

-[X] Ask Yelena why she's hiding behind you.

Hrm, sounds like either one of those mysterious Mountaineers or a tech guy... or both.

Alternatively,

[Q] Tell them they'll look good together.
-[Q] Wonder aloud who of your acquaintances would look nice together, as well.
--[Q] Girls.
---[Q] Obviously.
----[Q] You will call it... a shipping chart.

Also, CGL, your 3d modelling project looks like one of Portal's personality cores to me. But it obviously isn't. Is it really just another Bionicles thing? Because I vaguely recall that they had stuff that looked kinda like Portal personality cores but not.

[X] Try not to stare at her neckline. Fail. Try not to blush too badly. Fail. Stammer out about your arms, no your ears, no your both, how about just your everything?

:V

You guys realize we can vote for both these things, right? (Or at least, CGL hasn't rebuked me for my vote yet...)
Trying to decide whether or not I want to. :p

Okay, I saw that and I thought "Blackwatch Commander"...
I can see it. A bit of a stretch, but I can see it

Although I suppose that makes it a good time to ask: how aware is our protag of her sexuality?
That's... a very good question. I'd say she's like, semi-aware, but isn't aware she's aware, if that makes any sense.

Well, now you don't have to worry about it. :V

Welp, Verbal Flailing is now on the voting table. Oh boy, this ought to be fun.
